AHR: I asked that when Caligula was first cut. Fighteer said that as long as the example was about the review, it could mention the cut work.
I was going to ask about that, if there was any news of it. Same as Lime Pie, with volunteering.
I'm guessing because of all the visual novel cuts, Sam.

Why should that matter?
Sama: hypothetically, more private P5 conversations, without the need of other people explaining what the topic at hand is, and why they should/should not cut it?

Read my stories!^^Because a majority of the (remaining) P5 may not quite be so familiar with the medium.

"Hipsters: the most dangerous gang in the US." - Pacific MackerelLet me just state that I'm flat-out offering to join the P5.
~Cute and fluffy romance for all!~Lime Pie: I believe the mods will ask someone to join, based on how in between "crusader" and "apologist" they are (aka how neutral)
Read my stories! Also, you should know that it's not an easy task. You need to have sense of commitment and be able to take it easy if you're stressed.
Now using Trivialis handle.I guess, it isn't like the people working to clean this site up are working on a novel.

I've already applied, and I've continuously been on this site regardless of whatever happened.
"Hipsters: the most dangerous gang in the US." - Pacific MackerelMeeble and Discar are already more or less familiar with anime works, 'least I sometimes see them over in that subfora, and Komodin always does a good job giving fair verdicts either way. Catalogue...don't really see him much. Familiarity with a genre doesn't matter all that much, and I'd just be happy with the new member* if their first reaction isn't to insult both a work and its fans.

#IceBearForPresidentReally, The Ideal 5 P member isn't someone who is talking about wanting to be a member of the 5P. Please, try to talk about the works currently in debate guys, and cut Martello some slack, I may dislike his aggressive attitude, but if he did his job well he has most certainly earned himself a lifetime supply of brain bleach.
More importantly, Lets NOT get into a preemptive debate about a 5P member getting cut over him getting himself thumped once due to a single rash post thrown out there in anger. There are works in need of reviewing, and research in need of doing. Sure, we could use someone who knows how to operate APP local in the running of fan translated VN, we could use an anime geek, but there are a lot of things we could use in the 5P.
Genera of choice isn't the only thing to consider. While having an even distribution of people's genera of interest would improve the credibility of the 5P in being a unbiased judging source, we should not choose the nearest Otaku and promote them to the 5P because of it.
Personally, I would like to see someone who has been extensively reviewing works to join the 5P, but these people already have plenty of sway over the 5P as it is, and I am afraid that if one joined the 5 P, they would hold far too much sway in the council, being both one of their sources on the work, and being a vote in their counsel. It simply feels like it would result in a body that is far too much like a 1-2P council as opposed to a true 5P.
Really, we should be looking for someone who is calm enough willing to listen to others and not push their side of the argument too hard, but opinionated enough to not be an absolute pushover in a debate, someone who asks questions as well. Really, the 5 P should not be playing the Prosecution or the Defense in the judging of a work, investigating is most certainly OK, encouraged even, but we want a judge who is neither defensively, or offensively inclined.
Personally, while I would like a vote in the 5P, and everyone here would love to, without exception, I feel Tdgoodrich is probably the best candidate at the moment, most certainly a better candidate then me: He doesn't drone, rules lawyer, or write massive posts that are internally hypocritical (Lets put the subject down, but here is what I think about it while we close it down, etc.) He gives nice, clean, complete, seemingly unbiased reviews, which shows excellent judgement on his part, unfortunately, him giving the reviews for the 5P and being in the 5P at the same time would be a little bit overpowering, so I would ask him to tone down the public reviewing a bit if he DID get put on the council, but I would most definitely like to see another thinker of his level on the council for sure.

Happens to be known as Walrus Jones in other circles.Just wondering, how does one become a P5?
http://s1.zetaboards.com/Conceptual_Evolution/ http://sagan4.com/forum/index.phpP5 members get selected by the moderators, who may or may not take applications into account.
By the way, The 5 in P5 does not mean "five members"...
5 policies, 'Doh. Still, we refer to a council of five persons as the 5P, certainly the term can mean both.
Happens to be known as Walrus Jones in other circles. Is their any thread where you can tell the mods that you're interested in becoming a P5er?

http://s1.zetaboards.com/Conceptual_Evolution/ http://sagan4.com/forum/index.phpWell, there's no specific thread for such a proposition, but you can PM a moderator about it.
Experience has taught me to investigate anything that glows.Although as you can imagine there would be many high level users under consideration to begin with.
At least, that was my impression.

"Nullius addictus iurare in verba magistri, quo me cumque rapit tempestas, deferor hospes."Sorry to interrupt the conversation about who is gonna fill out Martello's position in case he was serious about leaving, but... Well, the discussion of stuff flagged for review must go on.
On the subject of Eiyuu x Maou and Legend of Queen Opala, I was the one who flagged both of those. My knowledge of Eiyuu x Maou has dimmed a bit with the passing of time, so I can't provide much insight other than there being rape scenes and the sex being an important gameplay mechanic (Banging women in your party gives you demonic children you can use as Mooks). On the other hand, I recently played the first 'Opala' game from start to finish, and I can testify that, while the game has a plot, it is mostly an excuse plot and the game would not make any sense at all without the sex scenes. The heroines are stated to be promiscuous beyond human disbelief, and their acts, which include bestiality, are glorified or otherwise an eyebrow is not batted at it. There is a sidequest involving finding a guy called Master Hen'Tai that gives you porno C Gs when you beat the guy in battle, plus collection of porno paintings you can place on a gallery for your viewing pleasure. One of the possible paths in the game, as well as a post-game scene, involve monster-rape by ogres, cerberi, orcs and other fugly critters. No loli-garbage, though. All of the people you can bang are grown, curvy women.
To summarize, blatant porn. I would kill it with fire without a thought.
"Suffer a vicious person and you will fear vice. Suffer a virtuous one and you will soon loathe virtue itself." Tony DuvertOpala seems like porn to me, while the Eiyuu x Maou sounds like it might be something like Sengoku Rance: Lots of sexual content, but not really the primary intent of the work and tropeable enough based on gameplay factors.
@4848 Bad Wolf 21: Huh, I thought the most common ruling was that examples which didn't themselves violate policy could be kept.
Well, now it seems more like "Don't do anything until the mods actually present an official policy."
"So... the time has come for you to meet your demise..."Regarding Eiyuu x Maou: I'm downloading it now, so I'll be able to give a good review for it soon. Though it doesn't seem to have an English patch, which is something of a bad sign (if someone does have a translation for it, please PM me).
Discar: Will you be able to read it or do you intend to simply check for frequency of adult scenes?

Can the new P5 member be someone familiar with anime and visual novels, please? (I'm willing to help, if need be.)
