So lot to unpack: Granolah feels like more of a side antagonist that will ultimately ally with Goku and pals, kinda like Vegeta in Namek. Ultra instinct is not the end-all of godly techniques and i guess there is a stronger mortal than Moro in U7. Cool

Is Zuno the one deity we saw back in super?

Congrats UI. Obsolete just as you reached your height, just like every other fracking technique in this series.

It's more that Goku learns the "Mastered" Ultra Instinct he has is actually just the basic level of mastery, and that he has a long, long way to go to actually perfect it. Whis is revealed to always be in Ultra Instinct all the time and have an extremely proficient mastery of it, for comparison, and the Grand Priest is noted to be the most proficient user in the cosmos.

Meanwhile, Vegeta goes all out to find a godly technique that's just as good as Ultra Instinct but isn't, because he doesn't want to copy Goku/

All in all, it comes off as them trying to differentiate Goku and Vegeta more stringently: Goku gets the Ultra Instinct upgrade tree, Vegeta gets... something else.

This should be interesting as an arc. It looks like it's going to be a slow burn for Granolah as an antagonist he slowly becomes the most powerful being in the galaxy.

I actually really liked this chapter. I hate how much this series can hook me despite how much it pisses me off.

I don't think Granolah is going to become the most powerful mortal in U7. I feel this is setting up something else

So it seems that Toriyama decided that the answer to “Will I allow Goku to reach Angel tier” will be “yes.” Everybody act shocked.

I dunno, seems pretty straightforward to me. Granolah has a scene where he swears to train to become stronger than all of his enemies, and then we immediately cut to the oracle fish saying the most powerful being in the galaxy will soon rise.

Unless it's referring to a character who hasn't been introduced yet ( since the Heeters are pretty obviously benchmark villains), it's a good sign that the character we've been putting focus on is going to grow to be far more than he is now.

That was a really solid chapter! Goku and Vegeta have logical paths for growth laid out for them, there's a bunch of nice worldbuilding and the events are following up on what happened in the past with 7-3 and Frieza's revival. Zuno becoming plot relevant again is also a nice touch.

Now that I've read it, I'm more ok with things. Goku and Vegeta finally undergoing some variation is nice. Like they don't know all the same techniques, but Vegeta has been playing catch up to Goku ever since they became Super Saiyans, with the only variance during that time being Fully Powered Super Saiyan vs the Graded forms (and Vegeta immediately abandoned the latter after learning about the former due to the greater benefits). Him trying to find his own way to power outside of UI makes sense, and I'm hoping he does learn from Beerus. It's also nice to learn that Goku still has a ways to go with mastering UI as well, as this means he can still meet more powerful foes to help that along (and I'm aware of the irony of saying it's good there'll be more powerful dudes for Goku to fight.

Our new player is interesting. A victim of both Frieza and the Saiyans, he's gonna bring up some old wounds. Of all the Saiyans left, Vegeta is arguably the only one who should be punished for these crimes, but I imagine Goku, Gohan, Trunks, Goten, Pan and Bra will have to pay as well. It'll be interesting to see how far he's willing to go: will he punish even the few innocent saiyans for the crimes of the whole?How will he achieve the power to get his revenge? Is he the new strongest being that Prophet Fish is talking about, or is there someone else waiting to rise up?

There is also the issue of Broly being around.

Man its weird seeing Whis move around like that in that outfit.

He really is a martial artist and not just inherently powerful.

well Goku is actually strong enough to keep up with him now, so he's gotta put in some effort.

Just as soon as Goku masters Ultra Instinct we find out that it can be mastered even more.

I can buy that. Escalation makes Yamchas out of everyone sooner or later.

Where do you go up from Super God?

I ask, after the franchise has already gone up from super god multiple times.

Toriyama finds a way.

Ultra Instinct is Angel Mode (which was already hinted at by Moro 2 chapters ago, or by how the hair and eye colors match).

And, of course, the way to top that involves Goku getting what Vegeta will get, and stacking both things.

UI was never mastered, that's a name the fandom came up

I'm kinda amused that Geets hopes to catch up with something below the Angels's ballpark.

I mean, King Kai was below Buu's power level, but his technique beat the blob.

I don’t know whether to admire or pity Geets’s fruitless quest to keep up with Goku.

Super has basically turned DB into a Western superhero comic. No obvious conclusion, no apparent power ceiling, even revived Frieza to be a Luthor-style permanent nemesis, bucking the Arc Villain tradition of most battle shone including DB’s original rum.

You do know that with the exception of the Frieza thing most of that applies to Z just as much right? Hell we actually do have a power ceiling right now in Zeno.
