The Super Saiya-jin 4 thing already doesn't make sense, it'd make even less sense if SSG made that happen.

Damn. Dude's salty about Broly.

He's got a point, I'm not particularly a fan of that kind of style (where you can't follow the action because the camera whips around too much), but I don't remember it being an issue in Broly. I'm pretty sure it was still easy to follow.

I do remember being put off by BOG cause that was an issue with part of Goku vs Beerus

His saltiness is understandable; he's a veteran for the franchise and they didn't even give him the courtesy of calling him.

I agree that his work is played out, but some professionalism is still needed.

They didn't call him to audition as character designer for Broly because literally the whole point of making Broly was to move away from his character designs.

Man oh man, time to bring up Gohand:

A lot people just focus on his dad in the Senzu scene, but they never focus on one thing...

How well would Son Gohand have fought Cell if he did not get the Senzu?

And why would it be any different from how he fought when Cell DID get the Senzu?

Considering how he ends up doing against Cell, would it really have been significantly easier if Cell was just a bit exhausted from his fight?

Cell was significantly exhausted, he was tiring at the same rate as Goku and Goku was pretty damn weak by the end of it.

If Gohan had actually bothered to fight, he'd probably have a big advantage. Kind of depends on how much power Cell still had in reserve.

Gohan beats Cell by putting some effort on it, or getting slighty nettled. Super Saiyan 2 was only needed for an utter curbstomp.

Eh, there was a whole bit mid-Cell Jr torture where Gohan started to get mad, got a rage boost, and Cell was all "well, it looks like there is something inside you all along! This is still weaksauce, though, keep going, I want to see the good stuff". There's no way Gohan would have been able to beat Cell without Super Saiyan 2 if Cell was hardly phased by a standard rage boost.

Cell was running on empty by the end of his fight with Goku, even if not quite as much as the latter.

So if Gohan actually fought like he meant it, he probably wouldn't need Super Saiyan 2.

But then its moot when Cell says he wasn't going all out against Goku anyway...

And then Gohan with an arm down manages to overpower a Cell who had gone Super Saiyan 2 pretty much.

Oh well, power level bullshit and what-ifs.

I disagree with the premise that Cell was just as tired as Goku after their fight. Cell might have broken a sweat, but he clearly felt that he could keep going, and he just didn't look as tired as Goku did. Based on that, I think stamina is tied more to your full Power Level than it is to your suppressed Power Level. This is also supported with Krillin and Gohan's sneaking around Namek, despite holding back to just barely above base human level, they were still able to travel vast distances with no seen need to rest, and there was never any mention that holding back also limits your reserves of stamina.

This whole thing with Cell makes me question the Super Saiyan 2 multiplier...a lot.

Cell holds back a lot of power while he is fighting Goku and when he is trying to get Gohan angry, then when Emo Teen Gohan/Super Saiyan 2 appears, he powers up to full power which makes everyone not named Gohan shit their pants...yet he didn't even become twice as strong given than Gohan's power up was the one who become twice as strong and he was far beyond what Perfect Cell could even do.

Then Super Perfecter Cell happened, crippled Gohan when he couldn't properly defend himself making him lose half his power...which would be basically his Regular Super Saiyan power and he was still able to destroy Cell completely once he found an opening.

Which means regular Super Saiyan Gohan could destroy regular Perfect Cell by himself yet the story acts as if he couldn't.

Eh... I do remember a few things going on in the last scene that could have tipped things in Gohan's favor. For one thing, I distinctly remember Goku's spirit appearing behind him, though I don't know if he was actually helping Gohan in a tangible way.

In at least one dub, Goku also urges Gohan to use the "pain of loss" - though I'm not sure whether that's an actual technique or if Goku was just telling him to use his grief to push himself past his limits.

My interpretation is that Gohan hadn't actually lost half of his power. Goku knew he still had power deep within him even though Gohan believed he couldn't do it because of his insecurities.

One thing I've always wondered about Cell is how much stamina healing takes out of him. It doesn't seem to be something that instantly pops him back to 100% like it does with Buu.

It has no official name. Berserk Super Saiyan for Kale and Full Power Super Saiyan for Broly.

The reason I question this is because Gohand was mostly dodging and really not fighting back against restored Cell.

So, I'm just wondering what would've happened against not-really-winded Cell.
