Even greater than Roy Rogers fast food?
I beg you, Roy Rogers. Never change.
They assed first. I am only retaliating in an ass way. -The Dead Man's LifeI feel like I live in a hole now. I've never had or even heard of Roy Rogers.
My PM box is always open to anyone who wants to talk/vent.Me either
At first I didn't realize I needed all this stuff...Well, I've never heard of Arby's or Roy Rogers, so there.
"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."Man, I learn a lot about fast food places on this site. First I find out there isn't a White Castle in pretty much any non-ghost town, and now no Arby's to even be found!? I live in Ohio and I seem to have more popular fast food chains around then.. (well, I don't know where you guys live, but it's more likely a better state than Ohio).

And now you know. I only see them in highway rest stops myself.
They assed first. I am only retaliating in an ass way. -The Dead Man's LifeWhich ways over the highway? I traveled from Ohio to Kansas this weekend and I don't believe I saw one. Its possible we could've passed one while I was reading, though.

They assed first. I am only retaliating in an ass way. -The Dead Man's LifeThat makes sense I've never seen one now then, I've only traveled along the northeast a couple times, and one I was very little.

Arbys cheesestick > All other food. It's as simple as that.
My PM box is always open to anyone who wants to talk/vent.I actually remember that Roy Rogers used to actually have stand alone restaurants, but they may have switched to the rest stop only model by '93. I was eight at the time.
"Well before, I did it with reckless abandon. Now I can't control myself!" ~ Jesse Cox, 2014Dangit, people, you guys are making me hungry! Especially for fried chicken and cheesesticks!
"I shall not be foolish again, my dear Gwendolyn!"Roy Rogers used to be all over the Northeast- believe or not, they were started by Marriott- the hotel chain. Back in 1968, they were looking at their "Jr. Hot Shoppes" (smaller-scale versions of the first Marriott restaurant, Hot Shoppes) and trying to figure out how to make them profitable. Someone came up with the idea of using the name and likeness of Roy Rogers, the famous cowboy actor, to promote burgers as well as fried chicken and roast beef (to fit the whole "wild west" theme); each store would also have "Roy's Fixin's Bar". where people could put all sorts of toppings on their food. Word spread, and the places started springing up like mushrooms. By the 1980s, you couldn't swing a dead cat without hitting a Roy's- but in 1989, Marriott left the food business to focus on hotels. They sold Roy Rogers to Hardee's, who tried to use Roy's as a foothold for Northeast expansion. It didn't work, loyal Roy's customers revolted, and Hardee's ended up closing nearly all the locations and selling them off. By the early 2000s, when the twin sons of an ex Roy's/Marriott exec, Jim and Peter Plamondon, bought the company, it was in dire shape- it had mainly dwindled to the highway rest stop locations, along with a few scattered franchises and company-owned locations. Since then, they've been slowly but surely rebuilding the chain, with more franchisees appearing in the mid-Atlantic states. They've even opened a few here in New Jersey- unfortunately, none are really close to me (at least one is where me and my dad sometimes work, so we eat there when we can). But they're coming back- so if you ever spot a Roy's on the road, stop in, and you won't be disappointed. Happy Trails!

Arby's: YAAASS! Roy Rogers: ?????? Location: Denver
My twin bro is moving to the east coast T-T so I might have a chance to try Roy Rogers. I've never tried Arby's cheese sticks, since I rarely eat fast food, and when I do, it's usually Taco Bell.
They're the best thing fast food can create.
