[up]The finale is already up on the Nick website.

I just saw it and here are my thoughts:

OK, seriously Casey, WTF!?

Thoughts on the season finale:

Shredder's a butthole.

This series does a great job of making the Triceratons formidable and intimidating. Previous incarnations didn't have the sheer mass, but these guys are huge and we see that Zog alone can decimate swaths of Kraang bare-handed.

I like that they avoided Conservation of Ninjutsu with the Triceratons. They were just as tough as a group as Zog was as an individual.

@Spookymask

See where you coming from, but honestly I didn't mind the lizard hair seeing as she's half human. New version is STRAIGHT UP amphibian, is logically bald, and good on the show for being accurate.

Yo, fuck this shredder, like legit fuck him. Its jackassery completely overshadows his cool factor. Like yo wtf.

Anyway, that ending had a shit ton of Mood Whiplash, I know Sequel Hook and all, but damn.

Revenge before reason does not even begin to describe Saki's stunt.

And what was up with Casey's line at the end. The Earth was destroyed. I know this is a kid's show but Christ!

I don't like this version of Casey. There, I said it.

He's full of himself, he's obnoxious, he's perverted, and he pretty much never gets any character development. And if the end of the finale indicates, he's an utter sociopath too. I might find his desire to protect his family more meaningful if we ever actually got to friggin' meet them.

Every other version of Casey is better. The comic version started out as a psycho, but got some solid character development. The movie Casey had some funny lines. The 80s Casey was one-dimensional, but at least they played his psychosis up for humor, and he only showed up occasionally. The 2k3 Casey had a very sympathetic backstory that perfectly explained why he was fighting crime. The 2012 Casey is there just because he's expected to be there. I didn't mind his absence in the previous couple of episodes at all.

[up]I second that. This version of Casey is just bad. It feels like they just introduced him as a romantic obstacle to Donnie and April. I wonder if his lack of likable qualities is on purpose to get us to root for Donnie hooking up with April.

Dang that was an even more bad end than last season.

Why is Raph wearing his vision quest outfit for that one episode? Wait, did I see Triceraton droppings in the sewers while Raph was looking around? And uh, Zog, you say you need Nitrogen to breath huh? Well lucky for you Earth’s atmosphere is 78% Nitrogen so I don’t see what you problem is here.

When Bishop came out and kicked everyone’s butt I thought I was reminded of the time the 2003 version of Bishop beat up all four turtles, Karai and Hun all at the same time, with his tie. What’s that Kraang? The Technodrome is at the bottom of the ocean and it won’t start? Seems familiar somehow. And hey, were those Roadkill Rodenies? They look kinda like Roadkill Rodnies.

Holy, I was kind of hoping Shredder’s crew were going to help defend the planet, but I didn’t seriously think it was going to happen. There’s been a lot of straight up murder in these last few episodes. Zog stepped on Kraang and just flattened them. Then there was Leo’s plan that got a bunch of Triceratons sucked out into space. That’s never a fun way to go. Oh, and I think a few people may have been killed by the black hole at the end. Maybe.

Okay. Season one had a Star Trek parody, Season two had a rip off of japanese combining mecha anime and Season three had a barbarian parody reminiscent of He-Man or maybe even Conan the Adventurer. So what do you guys think they'll be watching in Season four? You know, after they fix Earth.

I assumed those were meant to be the show's version of Roadkill Rodney.

All the old cartoons they watched were from tapes they found and such. It's quite possible they'll find a new batch of tapes while they're off on their space adventures. Another possibility is that they'll intercept the broadcasts directly when they're 35 lightyears or so from Earth.

I never paid much attention to the Trope Pantheons, but do we have a God of Revenge Before Reason or revenge in general? Because if we do, we might need to think about replacing him.

Even though they don't show any gore, I like how you can clearly see that Shredder's blades have gone through his body.

I know it was Sasuke at one point. I don't know if it stayed that way though.

Also, probably Scooby-Doo for season 4.

1 - The curbstomp I usually rant about was wholly justified with the Triceratons. Even with Time Travel, hard to see how they win out with anything remotely near that scenario.

2 - Maybe Casey's reaction was a case of nervous laugh mentally? I think back to the possibly traitorous Orphan Girl in Elfen Lied. Her smile can be taken differently, though it tends to indict. Casey may just be dealing with it very poorly.

3 - It's a stretch, but I wonder if Tiger Claw, having transited dimensions as he has, might retain a memory of Shredder's insane treachery after the presumed reset. That could prove telling.

4 - No Karai makes sense, but if she saw that scene, even a mindworm couldn't make her hate Splinter again. Then again, could she have been lurking behind the (doomed) scenes?

5 - If they are going time/space hopping - Legit '87 Turtles Xover?

6 - Still waiting for time-hopping Mikey to become the original pickle-loving Oni.

I've said it before, I'll say it again.

No matter how cold and calculating he may be, the Shredder, Oroku Saki, is a child. A sniveling, petulant child who does NOTHING but blame everyone else except his own ass for his own self-inflicted problems.

I know it's been said before that the Turtles themselves in this continuity have fucked up before time and again, but none of that comes close to what this idiot has done. Even Tiger Claw calls him out on his BS.

When you wish upon a side of beef, soon will come an end to all your grief
