Hooray!
Oh snappidoodles, how do we begin?
Yay!
Uh, quick question. I mentioned a school uniform in my post, but does the school actually have one or do kids dress how they want?
they/them || "Forgive me, regent of queer amphibians" - Lt.BGobPeople dress how they want, with a few required things depending on the subject. For example, for cryomancy and necromancy students are required to wear long sleeves. For cryomancy, it's because it's ice. For necromancy, it's to reduce the amount of exposed flesh.
Just post your character arriving at the school.

Blue Pacific, signing off...HAI!!!!
...Out of curiosity, were you initially thinking the type of necromancy I described in my sign up?
I was thinking raising the dead, but I could probably just add Undead Summoning...
Blue Pacific, signing off...Ah, I see... That's more modern necromancy... Classical necromancy is speaking to the dead, so it's more about summoning up the ghosts, and stuff... Alternatively, you can make there be multiple disciplines in necromancy, one classical, one modern. Interesting tidbit of information, necromancy means "divination by communication with the dead" when taken literally...
If the current "arc" (and I use that in the least serious manner) is introductions and finding our rooms. Should we pair off as room-mates? Or would that be decided by the faculty (i.e. the GM)?
You must agree, my plan is sheer elegance in its simplicity! My TumblrOr ahead of time by random, as is common.
I'm thinking you guys should figure that out yourselves. Wouldn't want two incompatible people in a room together.
Blue Pacific, signing off...How it usually works is that people are assigned roommates, but, if the roommates are somehow incompatible, you can request a different one, and you are put into a different room, thus forcing people to meet new people while still allowing for roommate compatibility. Also, what are your thoughts on the different disciplines of necromancy idea I had?
Well, I turned Modern Necromancy into Undead Summoning.

Blue Pacific, signing off...Ok, just wondering.
Speedchesser, Zavi's "What'd he do?" was a though. Edited to make that clearer.
You must agree, my plan is sheer elegance in its simplicity! My TumblrSo, as far as the magic goes, will they learn all of their magic there, do they already know some, or what?
Okay. Thanks, Luthen.
If we're still recruiting, may I advise that we be cautious with the room-mate idea? It could work, but we'd need to take some measures to keep things feeling realistic. My concerns:
1: If someone new joins and makes us have an odd number of players, they might end up being the only person in the academy without a room-mate for no apparent reason.
2: If someone new joins and makes our total player count even, then we may have a problem where someone who was in the above situation mysteriously has a room-mate all of the sudden.
My suggestion is that perhaps there could be occasional room swaps. Then when a new player joins, we could say that the rooms were shifted again, which also gives them a reason to suddenly become part of the group.
Please excuse any illogic in this edit. I need sleep, so what may make sense to my half-asleep brain might sound completely ridiculous later, even to myself.

I agree with that suggestion. And also, sometimes we can say that not everyone will have roommates. That way if they want they can have a roommate, or not have a roommate, and incase people come in or people drop out they can be shifted out and all that boy and girl co-ed shannagians
Silence in the face of evil is itself evil: God will not hold us guiltless. Not to speak is to speak. Not to act is to act.@ Nick: Nate and Zavi are outside having their conversation, not in the auditorium.
You must agree, my plan is sheer elegance in its simplicity! My TumblrHey, if teachers are options, can I be one just for the initiation scene? After all, my main character's on their way to their room, and I don't want to just sit around when I'm supposed to be involved in the RP.
Sure, why not? I'll let you take over the teacher for the rest of the initiation scene. I'll PM you the color required when the teacher uses the identification spell on a player character.
Edit: In fact, everyone can have one teacher. I'll take the rest.

Blue Pacific, signing off......Is it ok if I have Gretchen show up late?
I don't think I can let you do that.
Blue Pacific, signing off...Wow, how does the teacher thing work?
