Man what a day. I go to work, get back and get distracted for a while, then try to post here and the sight seems to be down. (Or maybe my connection was the one pooping out? I dunno.)

Anyway, let's see here...

I guess in my 'verse they are meant to be nigh indestructible.

I've gotten the impression that a lot of the ideas you've been pulling from your 'verse are supposed to be like that. That would probably be the biggest major difference between our two settings; in mine, I want to make sure everything could be killed via human weaponry. Well, except for ghosts, but they can be banished pretty easily.

Now granted, some are less vulnerable than others, but I'm still trying to keep the number of monsters that could survive, say, a SWAT team barrage to a minimum.

If you're wondering how creatures that are so relatively easy to kill managed to overrun so much of the world so easily in the back story? Well, it mainly comes down to the surprise factor, and the lack of ability to counter-attack. When the apocalypse started, (Which all your characters should remember, seeing as they're older than five.) the monsters started showing up everywhere at once. Military forces across the globe were still able to fight them, but there was a lot of panic and confusion about where exactly to fight them, and a lot of cities and areas got lost/overrun in that time. The monsters could be fought back but they could never really be stopped; after all it's kind of hard to stop an enemy that basically comes from another dimension.

In the long run of things, the demons and cthulians are the biggest threats; beasts and undead are mostly people and things from earth that have been tainted by evil, and thus once they're put down, they're down. Demons and cthulians however, can send in reinforcements from a place where they are literally untouchable by current means. Humanity's been fighting a war of attrition against an enemy that can keep coming forever unless things change.*

... Oh right, that's kind of diverging/ranting off the original topic. -ahem-

Anyway, the other thing I should bring up while I'm here is the current absence of DAcriz who I've been sort of waiting on to post. (And I've been sort of dealing with writer's block too.) I don't blame him for his absence; it's his business. However, it's not exactly fair to the rest of you to expect to wait on him forever, so I thought I'd leave it up to you guys.

So, would you be okay with waiting longer, or would you like me to move things along a bit?

[up] I'm fine with waiting. Although don't listen to me, my friends say I'm patient to the point of being irritating. Oh and Firock I would definitely agree with you about my 'verse.

I think there's no point in signatures.

Well, I'm extremely patient too; which would be why I haven't decided to move along by myself yet. (The laziness and distractions help too. tongue)

And as for your 'verse I'll just say different strokes for different folks. I don't think there's necessarily anything worse or better between yours and mine; I have my reasons and preferences for mine to be the way it is, as I'm sure is the same for you and yours.

Sorry for holding you guys back, but I got really sick with the flu or something and I just couldn't think with the headaches. I almost forgot about this for a few days but since I'm feeling alot better, I can post now.

Ah, that would certainly explain it. I think there's been a couple times where I've been sick to the point where I simply didn't feel like posting; so again, I'm certainly not going to blame you for that. On the contrary I'll simply say that I'm glad you're feeling better.

Anyway, I'll most likely post soon. I just finished up a show on Netflix.

Did I get a go on my character, or were there any issues I needed to address?

Hmm, well according to everything on my end, your signup post still hasn't been edited since before I responded to it the first time in signups; the one where I already mentioned what all I wanted addressed.

My guess is that either TVtropes/Firefox is intentionally or unintentionally deceiving me, or your edit didn't go through.

A little mixup about the timeline; a confirmation on his equipment; and either the removal or justification of 'minor magical ability'.

If you mean what you changed; I have no idea. Like I said, according to my end, your post never got edited after that.

@Yuri: Ah, nice to see you back. How did your exams go?

I'm pretty sure there's been an info dump or two in the time you've been gone. I've still been keeping the first post up to date with links so you should be able to fill in any blanks there.

As for the RP itself, it's been at a bit of a standstill for a couple days or so now. I was actually going to post here today to address that anyway, so... What I was thinking was perhaps another nudge forward is in order. Particularly since we've got a couple people possibly waiting to jump in now.

Since I wasn't sure whether to get things "complicated" during the night anyway, perhaps I should just skip out all the intermediate time and get the group moving back towards Saint Clair in the morning? That way the new people could be waiting there. It's one possibility, anyway.

I've got some other stuff to do in the meantime so I figured rather than get posting right away I'd give you guys a chance to express your opinions while I go work on that.

Speaking of which, a little part of said stuff to do is an error I myself made that I noticed going back through the TYCMAKs. Specifically, the description for fiends in the first bestiary is terribly short and doesn't actually well describe the image I had in mind for them. So I'm gonna go back and flesh that out a little more.

EDIT: And that's done. Here's a handy link for anyone who wants to see the changes to the fiends' description.

Huh, no responses.

I'd take that most likely as either a lack of objections or that you've all decided to unanimously jump ship.

Well, I'll get a post up later to move things along.

Lack of objection. So I see we have two new players—I hope that means we'll get more activity.

Hopefully, yes. And the easiest way to get their characters in is if they had arrived at Saint Clair and were waiting there. Hence the jump forward to there.

Also, good time to mention; I have work on Thursday and Saturday. I also have a driving practice tomorrow, but that won't take up as much of the day.

I'll try to explain a little better: The easiest way I can think of for the new characters to get into the RP is if they are at the Saint Clair community already. Probably having arrived the previous day when the bounty hunter group was out at Fairfax... Actually now that I think about it, them just arriving around now would work too.

They could either be there with the intention of joining the bounty hunter group; in which case they could probably be at the floor they use, waiting for the bounty hunter group to return, which they just did. Or newcomers could just be at Saint Clair for whatever other reason, and encounter the bounty hunter group. (And presumably at some point decide to join. Because this RP would be a lot harder to run if they didn't.)

My intention for now was to let you guys figure it out on your own and possibly interact with each other for a bit. Otherwise I can bring in Ross and/or other NPCs to help with that.

Yeah, that's where they are now. Clark and Langston are (sort of) having a conversation at the bottom floor, and Ross is on his way upstairs to tell George (the head policeman of Saint Clair) about what they found at Fairfax. Nobody has actually gone to the floor they use as their own room as of yet, but Ross will pass by the doorway on his way upstairs.

Anyway, apologies about the inactivity; more real life distractions. Speaking of which, I've got more work tomorrow. However, after that I've got a three day break.

I have some bad news. I found a plot hole. Back at Fairfax if everyone there got caught up in the battle then wouldn't we have found a lot more weapons?

Not really. The fact that most of the guns were still in the armory area was part of the emphasis of how surprised the inhabitants were by the attack. Only a handful of them were armed and most of the others didn't have time to go grab a weapon.
