9th inning. Nationals up 4-2.
Baseball season for the decade is almost up...
A cruel, sick joke is still a joke, and sometimes all you can do is laugh. You are definitely right, if the Nationals do maintain this lead, its clear that Houston pulled their starter far too early. For such a mistake to be the turning point here...
The people who said that this series was boring are just salty that their teams didn't make it.

That was a great series imo. Great starters, away-field advantage, and... questionable umpiring.
Pulling Greinke early and not going to Gerrit Cole is going to be the story of the Astros' offseason.

As a Jays fan, watching Osuna crash and burn was a delight.

I'm still amazed that the Away team won every game in a seven games series.

Politics is the skilled use of blunt objects.Congratulations to the Washington Nationals!
Nationals were at one point 19-33 this season.
They were two innings away in the Wild Card Game against the Brewers from being the first team eliminated.
Since their inception, they had never won a postseason series.
They climb the mountain to immortality and exorcise their demons.
And the Astros have 10 LOBs to blame for today.
A cruel, sick joke is still a joke, and sometimes all you can do is laugh.Question for fellow baseball fans here: do you think this was a good decade for baseball? I'd say yes. We had five 7-game World Series, the Cubs break a 108-year title drought, D.C. break a 95-year drought of their own, plus SF and Houston break droughts of over 50 years. Plus, we didn't even come close to a work stoppage(there were no work stoppages last decade either, but in '02 they came close).
In an interesting oddity, the pitcher who won the AL gold glove (Mike Leake) finished the season in the NL, while the pitcher who won the NL gold glove (Zack Greinke) finished the season in the AL.
Bigotry will NEVER be welcome on TV Tropes.Greetings, fellow Seattleite! Sure feels good rooting for the only team that's never played in a World Series(as well as the only team that hasn't made the playoffs in the last 18 years).

Yeah, sometimes I feel like our team was invented to give Cleveland Browns fans a reason to feel better about themselves.
Bigotry will NEVER be welcome on TV Tropes. At least the Mariners' '95 and '01 seasons were a lot of fun. Since the Cubs finally won it all I think it's between the Browns and Lions for most miserable major pro sports franchise.
Rocco Baldelli of the Minnesota Twins gets AL Manager of the Year.

Well, that's going to put an asterisk on their 2017 season.
A cruel, sick joke is still a joke, and sometimes all you can do is laugh.Yeah, we'll see how it all plays out. As a Mariners fan, I obviously want to throw the book at them, write a sequel, and throw that at them as well.
Bigotry will NEVER be welcome on TV Tropes.I wonder how often cheating scandals really tarnish championships in people's minds. How often do you hear people talk about the Saints bounty program tarnishing their Super Bowl win?

"We're all paper, we're all scissors, we're all fightin' with our mirrors, scared we'll never find somebody to love."
So, Greinke was throwing a 1-hitter up until the 7th when Anthony Rendon makes it a 1-run game.
Now, his pitch count is low and that's his first mistake of the game. Astros manager AJ Hinch takes him out at the first sign of trouble.
Reliever Harris gives up a 2-run homer to Howie Hendrick. Nationals on top 3-2.
OOPS?
