All-Purpose Nasuverse Fanfiction Thread

The only thing I can think of is something that is sort of Toku esque, and/or has a few elements of Kiritsugu's Magus Killer days.

Had a weird thought.

The Counter Force is the GAME OVER SCREEN.

Think about it. All the situations a counter guardian would be sent (Salem Singularity being the most vivid in my mind), we DON'T see any getting sent (except for Accel Zero, and I'm a little doubtful about that). It's said that a CG being sent is the 'Last Resort' to deal with a situation. So while the heroes are still there, they act as the 2nd to last resort, meaning no CG need get sent yet. But if you die and get the Game Over Screen, then, it's the last resort...

I'd just clarify that some of those chicks who look like anime waifu King Arthur actually are anime waifu King Arthur, just different iterations of her. Because that makes things much less unnecessarily convoluted.

I swear I find the Trabsformers franchise easier to understand.

I enjoyed UBW and the first season of Kaleid Illya but I just coudn't find the effort to get into...everything else this franchise had.

Plus of course Mordred's origin story is convoluted, its what happens when Nasu decides to genderflip a character without thinking things though (I presume)

It actually wasn't Nasu's idea. It was Takeuchi's, the co-founder of Type-MOON and artist for the original VN (among many other things). He suggested the change because he thought that having a male protagonist would result in better sales and so Nasu also flipped Arthur because he really wanted to write a Boy Meets Girl type story (it's why so many scenes in the Fate route are titled such).

I mean for Mordred at least, Fate canon is accurate to at least some versions of how the conception happened.

Really, the only “new” part is her being a homunculus.

Mordred's gender flip actually makes a lot of sense, given the 'two mommies' situation. There's no Y chromosome to make her male.

I meant gender flipping King Arthur. Since it makes the case that Mordred being the child between Morguase/Morgana more complicated and Merlin is needed to...lend a hand.

I don't know, it certainly makes the Lancelot/Gwen thing easier to understand. He's not just a jerkish French guy stealing an English King's wife, it's an endorsed affair, and possibly the chosen spermdonor to make an heir.

Lancelot was never a jerkish french guy, his love for Gueneviere, and her returning his feelings, were ultimately a case of bad timing and Arthur's outright refusal to heed Merlin's warnings that this will happen. Lancelot spent years away from Camelot doing heroic deeds just so he wouldn't be tempted, if it wasn't for Elaine he might never have been.

In T.H White's version he outright states that if Lancelot had not been such a good man and had decided to start the affair as soon as his feelings developed and had took her with him to France right away then Britain would have never been ripped apart cause of Mordred.

Considering their personalities were created by Nasu with slight influence from their lore I doubt it'd make a difference

To my knowledge no.

It's been asked before and from what I remember, it's purely a pallete swap and has no bearing on relations to them.

Yes, I'm aware that any resemblance is only physical in canon, I just wanted to explore what would it mean if they were related and what would that entail in the grand scheme of things.

Then, allow me to share an idea of mine.

"Ritsuka had always felt that there was something missing in the back of his mind, as if there was a blanket in place of the memories he was sure he had. Ever since he stepped foot into Chaldea, that sensation had only been growing each passing day. But no matter the reason or the cause, two words remained crystal clear: Trace, on."

And from then the fanfic would diverge from the original story of Fate Grand Order; the main distinction, at first, is that Ritsuka is not just an average Muggle but a magus of odd interests if compared with the rest.

His magic would be a combination of the Tohsaka's jewelcraft with Shirou's own projection techniques, but instead of pursuing the root like other mages, Ritsuka would be more content with finding practical applications for his specialty. Aside from that, his personality would remain more or less the same, only with some changes by the fact that he can be more proactive thanks to his magic capabilities.

Whether he's trained on archery, CQC or swordmanship would be up in the air, though I would consider that Shirou and Rin taught him the basics of cooking since he's shown to know how to cook in the Tulas Realta manga. As for his past, that's something Ritsuka will have to remember as he fights across the Singularities and memories come back one by one.

The problem is that the timelines don't match up at all - the main character of Grand Order is probably somewhere post-high school graduation and pre-college graduation (with lower odds on still being in high school), which means that they had to have been born before the Fifth Grail War. That was in 2004 by all reasonable assumptions, and assuming Ritsuka is 16 at the absolute youngest as of 2015 and the start of the story, he'd be approximately 5-6 years old when the Fifth War was going down.

It doesn't really work, unless you shift Grand Order to happen later on in the timeline.

That's actually a plot point of the story, much like how is it possible that he lives or plain out exists on a timeline in which his parents were killed before they could even conceive him.

To not beat around the bush, the answer is that Zeltrech is involved, but the how and why is part of the reason for Ritsuka's amnesia, as well as some quirks of his personality in canon like his dissociation of the events of Grand Order or why he's described as someone that would rather be forgotten by history.
