It was named before we learned that dialog-like names are the worst thing ever for making a successful trope. I mean, look at the awful "related to" usage stats for the thing.

I guess maybe it's what the writers are thinking that the audience is asking… if that helps. I'd put my money on "doesn't help." This needs a new name, but that is a job for the Trope Repair Shop.
