2012, You are the future...

The day of reckoning, reawakening and apocalypses is upon us. Too bad none of you can decide which it is but that's what the Kyouto High's *

2012 club is for. For people to ponder and theorize what exactly will happen in this mystical day of 2012, some are true believes other just like fiction based around the event or similar events, others are just along for the ride.

The club was founded in 2011 and is currently in it's second year, it meets in secret after school at the apartment of the student council's president. Your character will be arriving here for the 2012 party at 10 PM.

But now the day is upon us what you don't realize yet is that when that clock strikes midnight each and every person in that room is going to change, perhaps just mentally, but no matter how you change one thing will remain true:

Whether you decide to use these powers for better or worse, You are the future.

The powers in question are going to be weak at first but slowly grow to be more power and specialized. Super Weight 2 is the limit.

Example: Your power is the power to push, at first this may only be good for pushing objects away but with time it could be used push cars or enhance jumps into skyscraper leaps.*

Grant your powers getting stronger may not always be a good thing, no matter how much you can control them.

Also powers need not be combat practical or your powers may just be a physical change or a mental one, this RP is more for slice of life exploration of a what if scenario than conflict and combat but there will be plenty of that if you want it.

When it comes to strength can power nobody is going to start off strong or be able to use their powers/changes well.

As the RP grows people can just drop in from others clubs as 2012, YRTF becomes an official club for the humans who have developed powers to seek safe refuge.

As for tone I'd like to keep this as a serious Freeform RP, but it's your choice whether you play things straight, subvert, invert, de or reconstruct them. Also there will be certain forced events mostly time shifts to avoid Webcomic Time.

• Personality: Kind and personable always open to talking with people and making new friends, but also introverted at times and enjoys alone time with nature and book every once and a while.
  • Talents: Violin player, public speaking, animal and plant knowledge.
  • Flaws: underage drinker, innocent abuse of power.
• Backstory: Her parents are both in politics meaning she gets more money and power than any 17 year old should without someone to police it. She has her own apartment and often get older people to buy her drinks.

May I have the power to give anyone a command once?

I promise I'll only use it when jokingly suggesting that my sister massacre a stadium full of people, honest!

I would like the ability to see fleeting glimpses of the past and future and to eventually be able to garner knowledge from individuals in those periods.

I'll be able to avoid getting suggestions such as destroy the world, bet on the winning horse at the tracks, or do a little dance.

It be weak at first, people may just give your character weird looks or even slap them.

Past sure ,future would kinda ruin the setting of "YOU" are the future.

If coming up with powers is a thing that is happening now, I have thought of something. Mutuality/Balance probably being the best way to put it, equating to making something that applies to you apply to someone else, or vice versa. In various strengths it could be used for persuasion, empathy, etc, to gain knowledge, to make opponents in combat receive the injuries you receive, and so on. Perhaps at the ultimate pinnacle of achievement power sharing could happen but that seems pretty overpowered to me.

I'm not sure I follow any of that.

Hmmm...sounds interesting. Is the power to manipulate boundaries out of the question? To begin with it would just be manipulating boundaries in space to make a tiny portal between two places, but as my character gets stronger it can also manipulate the surface of water and erect walls from solid matter.

The power of impersonation, maybe? At first, it would start as being able to perfectly imitate anyone's mannerisms and maybe vocal inflections, but it would grow into changing voices and, eventually, limited shape-shifting.

... I'd suggest an alternative, but I like the first too much. X3 Would it work?

Attempting (but likely failing) to address my idea in a way that actually gets the idea across: You/I/One/The user/[pronoun] focus on a certain thing, the best examples I can come up with being emotions/feelings, knowledge and injuries. Either it applies to the user and not to another specific person (or the other person has the opposite) within close range of them, or the other way round. They can then make it so it applies to both or neither of them. Example wise: The user is angry and someone else is calm. The user can either calm themselves down by replacing their anger with the other's calm-ness or make the other angry by replacing their calm-ness with their anger. The user knows something and the other doesn't (or vice versa). The user can make both of them know it or neither of them know it. It could potentially be used in other ways too, like with injuries (the person attacking the user gets the injury too), although what it could be used with and the chance of success being limited while the power is weak. Thinking of it, it is a little overpowered, but I'm sure that could be compensated for.

I'm thinking about small air movement > to wind > to air pressure/weight.

Hmmm would Psychokinesis be alright?

If I'm sure of something it's that I'm not sure of anything.

That's too expansive of a power, chose one element of it.
