Stop Having Fun Guys clean up.

The thread to rename "Stop Having Fun" Guys didn't go anywhere. So I decided to go cleaning up iffy examples myself and I would like to see if anyone else would care to join in.

Two particular types of misuse to look out for:

• Missuse as a generic Party Pooper or Killjoy.
• Missuse as those who play seriously or compettively without indicating they look down on players who don't play like them. It's not the playstyle, it's the mentality.

Now I've been going through the A's and I came across example in Arrogant Kung-Fu Guy that I'm a little puzzeled with.

• Paul of Pokémon, to the extent that even one fair and square crushing loss haven't changed his attitude.
  • And the scary part is that this is the way a lot of Pokemon Trainers (who play the video games) act in real life. Granted, most of them really do have bragging rights, but dear lord, do they know it. See "Stop Having Fun" Guys for the real life gamer equivalent of the Arrogant Kung-Fu Guy.

I came across this Paul character a few times in while cobming through the examples, but I didn't find anything that sounded like a SHFG. Anybody more familliar with the anime no what their talkng about?

I am unfamiliar with the Pokemon anime, but that sounds like misuse - the archetype that's being described is that of the arrogant, elitist, competitive "I'm better then you" gamer - this can have overlap with "Stop Having Fun" Guys, but it's not the same thing.

However, "Stop Having Fun" Guys is listed as the gaming/hobby version of the Arrogant Kung-Fu Guy.

If he looks down to anyone who dosen't use the same methods than he dose than I would keep it.

I think that's a mistake. The laconic of Arrogant Kung-Fu Guy:

The Arrogant Kung-Fu Guy looks down on everybody, the "Stop Having Fun" Guy just looks down on those who don't play by his rules. They're similar concepts and should be related tropes, but they are not direct counterparts, and "Stop Having Fun" Guys are not real life gamer versions of Arrogant Kung Fu Guys.
