I played Runescape, good game. Kinda fell out of it around the Daemonheim times. What I really liked was the forums. Played some good Forum games there, the CYOC genre (called Create Your Own Country after the game that started the trend).
They do have medals for almost, and they're called silver!Loving the restored 2007 servers now. Brought me right back after years away. There's that real simplicity about the game that I always liked, plus boatloads of nostalgia.
It's like when you play that one game you had as a kid, and even though the world has moved on, you still know why you found it so much to begin with.
And let us pray that come it may (As come it will for a' that)Bought my OSRS membership a few days ago (the Ogress Warrior loot wasn't happening fast enough). Going to spend the month grinding so I'll be able to earn bonds with gp by the end of it. Spent last Saturday telegrabbing zamorak wines and currently getting my fletching up to 65 so i can make diamond bolt tips.
"...in the end the Shadow was only a small and passing thing: there was light and high beauty for ever beyond its reach."No offense to anyone that likes it but as someone terminally allergic to dropped plot threads I kinda don't get why OS is more popular. Why do so many people prefer a version where the Dwarf series stops at part two of five and we might never see the Ritual of Rejuvenation?
The pig of Hufflepuff pulsed like a large bullfrog. Dumbledore smiled at it, and placed his hand on its head: "You are Hagrid now."I reckon it's the 2007 mechanics that OSRS players prefer over a continued storyline. I mean I think the subset of MMO players who play it for the story must be relatively low in any case. Also nostalgia, obviously.
"...in the end the Shadow was only a small and passing thing: there was light and high beauty for ever beyond its reach."I'm a very story-focused guy; I don't get how any amount of gameplay perks could make up for that many abandoned plots.
The pig of Hufflepuff pulsed like a large bullfrog. Dumbledore smiled at it, and placed his hand on its head: "You are Hagrid now."Most people will be there for non-story content. I bet some barely notice it exists.
"...in the end the Shadow was only a small and passing thing: there was light and high beauty for ever beyond its reach."RS 3 has also been pretty slow with new quests in recent years.
"But if that happened, Melia might actually be happy. We can't have that." - Handsome RobLooks like an interesting looking new arc is starting Monday - Everyone vs. the Elder Gods! Even some characters like the Arposandran Gnomes who haven't had anything to do in a LONG time seem to be involved!
The pig of Hufflepuff pulsed like a large bullfrog. Dumbledore smiled at it, and placed his hand on its head: "You are Hagrid now."That's nice. I haven't really been playing too much this year, even though I brought Premier Club again note
But a story line is something that will get me logging in to finish it.
"But if that happened, Melia might actually be happy. We can't have that." - Handsome RobI recently did Forgettable Tale of a Drunken Dwarf, and was surprised the Red Axe series was only two quests long. It would be good to get a continuation for that.
Working on Varrock Medium Diary at the mo though, trying to get moar battlestaves as well as making money through gardening.
"...in the end the Shadow was only a small and passing thing: there was light and high beauty for ever beyond its reach."Pictured: Why OSRS does not interest me.
The pig of Hufflepuff pulsed like a large bullfrog. Dumbledore smiled at it, and placed his hand on its head: "You are Hagrid now."Just need to raise a cat so I can charm someone into giving me a different coloured kitty and I'm golden for Med Varrock
"...in the end the Shadow was only a small and passing thing: there was light and high beauty for ever beyond its reach."RS3's finally getting Fossil Island this summer!
The pig of Hufflepuff pulsed like a large bullfrog. Dumbledore smiled at it, and placed his hand on its head: "You are Hagrid now."Oh that's really cool.
I remember playing right when the Dig Site minigame in Varrock came out, and when everyone was trying to figure out all the Kudos from cleaning the samples.
Good times.
"But if that happened, Melia might actually be happy. We can't have that." - Handsome RobIts proper name is apparently The Land Out of Time.
The pig of Hufflepuff pulsed like a large bullfrog. Dumbledore smiled at it, and placed his hand on its head: "You are Hagrid now."Btw, OSRS is getting story updates - Song of the Elves, the 8th quest in the elf storyline, (following Mourning's Ends Part II, and therefore diverging from the RS 3 storyline) is coming this year. This will add Prifddinas to the map at long last.
"...in the end the Shadow was only a small and passing thing: there was light and high beauty for ever beyond its reach."I wonder if each will eventually get all the content, or at least equivalents, that the other has - since, of course, OS got Fossil Island first. I wonder about Zeah in particular...
The pig of Hufflepuff pulsed like a large bullfrog. Dumbledore smiled at it, and placed his hand on its head: "You are Hagrid now."I haven't played too much lately, but I decided to do some Slayer today while catching up on shows since its DXP.
I forgot how much I love Hydrix Dragons
15K Slayer XP per kill is kind of amazingnote . And they're practically AFK!
"But if that happened, Melia might actually be happy. We can't have that." - Handsome RobAgain with the DXP sillyness.
Herby Werby is crazy broken right now.
I used DXP + Cinder Cores + BXP + Botanists outfit + Weekly Reset token to get 1.2 million Herblore XP in approximately 10 minutes.
I haven't been playing much lately, so I've only done a little in this double xp weekend.
But this new approach of giving you 48 hours of DXP over 10 days is much better than the old version in my opinion.
Much more relaxing if you want to get value for time.
"But if that happened, Melia might actually be happy. We can't have that." - Handsome RobI finally have enough money to get that membership for a couple of months and time at home!
Trans rights are human rights. TV Tropes is not a place for bigotry, cruelty, or dickishness, no matter who or their position.Archaeology is a lot of fun.
And with bonds being a bit low right now, and there being plenty of good money making methods with the new skill. It's fairly easy to fund a membership with GP at the moment.

"But if that happened, Melia might actually be happy. We can't have that." - Handsome RobI might fund a little membership time with birthday money, it would be pretty rad to get back in for a little - I couldn't get an account to the point of supporting membership with GP within a month of membership unfortunately even with all the herb runs and fletching grinding and zamorak wine grinding.
Zamorak wines got me my first 1M gold, quite chuffed to break into that level of wealth.
"...in the end the Shadow was only a small and passing thing: there was light and high beauty for ever beyond its reach."If you have 50+ Runecrafting Vis Wax and shop runs can be enough to fund a Bond every 14 days.
