The fact that Ryoko obviously had not been doing much in the way of fighting Demons and replenishing her gem made Asuka truly frown. She was essentially wasting the opportunity to uphold her wish — and not to mention her duties as a magical girl.
'They're right, Ryoko.' She stated, mimicking Kyubey by also turning in the girl's direction. 'You wouldn't want to disappear from this life, would you? Who knows just where you'll end up...' Her voice held a hard, serious edge.

"You don't seem to understand, Ryoko," Kyubey said, shaking his head. "I wonder if-" He cut himself off, perking up, and turned in the direction of the facade of a nearby hotel. "Oh, no!" he cried, dashing forward. "Girls, hurry! The Miasma is starting to build up! Someone is in danger!"
As Alicia walked, the air seemed to chill a little. The streetlight ahead of her dimmed... she had enough time to wonder if it was her imagination before the world stuttered and a tall, skeletal man in a white robe was standing in front of her. He had no eyes, just white panels floating in front of his face... but somehow, Alicia got the feeling he was staring at her. And that he was hungry...

She trailed off, just as Kyubey stood to attention and took off. "I'm As..uka." Melody had run after Kyubey in the middle of the older girl's introduction. Oh well. There would be time for that after this was all said and done.
"But does she know how to fight?" Asuka posed this question to herself as she broke into a run. Training a novice magical girl during a battle was not her idea of "awesome" so to speak. 'Ciel, you're close by, right?' She liked the Singaporean girl from the bit of chatter they'd had over the mindlink. Perhaps having her (and Vera too) present would tip the scales further in their favor.

Taking a step backwards, Alicia unconsciously reached for her purse; she didn't know what this thing was, but it was definitely unnatural. And worse than that, it was hostile.

Her serious expression became a scowl as she saw the girl below freeze up as the Demon got to her mind. Instinctively she bounded straight off the rooftop, aiming straight for a diving kick at the Demon.

Alicia tripped over herself in her haste, not having gotten very far from the Demon at all. The whispers were maddening, and they only grew stronger as she lay on the ground. For a moment, she began to agree, and then-

The sound of a boot smashing into a hard surface snapped the girl out of her reverie. Turning around, she saw its origin: a girl decked out in full rollerblading attire had said hello to her pursuer, rollerblades first.
She blinked a couple of times. A rollerblader? What? Why how where who why-

The Demon looked up as Ciel leapt off the roof; it blurred a little as its newly-born protomind considered the possibilities for escape. In the end, it didn't decide on one fast enough, and Ciel's energized blades caught a glancing blow to the side of its head, tearing a pitch-black rent in its alabaster skin.

Melody came to a dead halt when she finally saw it. Some kind of weird... Skeleton... Thing, whatever it was.
"Oh... Oh my..." she gasped. "...I didn't know you guys put so much work into this! That is an awesome costume!" Maybe LAR Ping wasn't as lame as she originally thought. Seemed to be a bit more full-contact than she'd heard, though.

Ciel dimly registered the fact that she had caught the attention of the girl she had just shaken out of the Demon's mental grasp, as well as the fact that she had transformed mid-jump without consciously thinking about it.
As she landed from kicking the Demon in the face, she swerved around to face it, shouting to the bystander. "Hey, you've got to get to safety! This thing I just kicked is dangerous!"
As the Demon turned to face her, black energy gushing from the wound she had inflicted, she tensed, preparing for whatever happened next.

Shizuko collapsed against the ground in the witches world clutching her broken arm. So this is how it all ends... The witches servants crowded around her, her soul gem nearly dark. Well, I suppose I might as well go out in the blaze of glory... Shizuko rose, readying her knives, a smile on her face. She yells at the witch, "Well, what are you waiting for? Bring! It! On!"
The witches gaze turned to her, or its many gazes, really. From its twisted faces came a harrowing scream, and it flapped its many wings, sending its twisted, vaguely weasel like, body towards her, swinging the huge blade attached to the end of its only arm. Shizuko disappeared, or so it seemed. Carefully she made her way through the witches servants unnoticed, and the witch's blade split the cotton candy like ground where she once stood. She smiled as she took to the air, and landed on its back driving a knife she was carrying into one of its faces with her good arm. Pulling it out and tossing it away, she removed her soul gem, dissolving her magical girl costume, and she sticks it in the hole she created. Here goes nothing. She another knife come from her jacket, and brings it down upon her soul gem.
"I want to erase every Witch before they are born. Every Witch from every world, from the past and the future. With my own hands."
Shizuko felt a presence behind her, and she hears someone whisper into her ear, "How about one more try at this? One more chance to save the world." Her blade connected with her gem, and it exploded. At the same moment, everything changed.

Shizuko leaned against an alley wall, her arm bloodied. Well, that was a lot of Demons. Not more than I can handle, but still difficult. She checks her soul gem. Still pretty full, that's good. I don't want to overwork myself and disappear... Like that would ever happen. She leaps up to the roof tops, and surveyed the city looking for any trouble that might be happening...

"O-okay!" Snapping out of her thoughts, Alicia scrambled to her feet and ran back about ten feet before slowing down and turning around.
"But what the hell is that thing, anyways!? It came out from nowhere!"
Then the other girl who arrived at the scene spoke up.
"Demons...?" As much as she liked adventure, being suddenly tossed headfirst into one without any information whatsoever was still rather jarring. "Seriously?"
