Sounds like I didn't miss much. I'm fully content of considering the Season 6 finale being the show's actual final episode, as that was the perfect ending for me, save for the uncreative cliffhanger.

With all the memes about women choosing a bear over a man, Hollywood might wanna get on an 'East of the Sun and West of the Moon' adaptation

I think its less a ton of people loved Season 7's end, and more that the only people who do love it are either caught up in the emotions of the show finally ending or are the only people willing to talk on the internet and post about it.

The fan community I've been apart of for a few years is happy with the ending as far as how the FELT during the ending, but hate how terrible and rushed the overall product was and how completely nonsensical everything was left at.

So I have been getting into the show again and I have got to say. I also don't mind the last two seasons as much as I used to, I used to just skip them, though I still feel that it should have ended with season 6. I forgot how much I liked it. It's not perfect but what show is. One thing I don't like as much, Hook in later seasons. In season 2 I love him and in season 3, he was okay. I love Colin in the role but I feel like the writing let him done. Especially in regards to season 5.

[up] See, I personally wouldn't single Hook out, because my long-held stance is that the entire show unraveled in Season 5. The show basically wrapped up every plot thread, character arc and romantic relationship quota in Season 3, and while there were warning signs in Season 4, I (*side-glances at username*) give that season a pass since I feel like there was a lot of fun stuff in it too. Season 5 was where it became painfully obvious they had no clear plan for anything anymore, and the stuff they ended up doing with the story, characters and romantic relationships was awful.

[up] That is a good point. It is more to with the the creators no longer knowing what to do with anyone really.

It might be why I like season 7 much more now than before, it does really feel like a fresh start.

Season 7's main problem, to be honest, is that it didn't come earlier. I feel like if they had pulled that sort of big status quo change at around Season 4 or 5, audiences would have accepted it more and maybe even come to expect such status quo changes every so often, and the show may have had a longer lifespan as a result. But because they did it at Season 7, after six whole years of Storybrooke and Emma Swan as the Savior being the core aspects of the show and following something of a Series Fauxnale, it just ended up alienating too many people.
