I don't think there is one, and I'm not sure there should be.
Only reasons I can think of is that there's not another Wall of Text to read through.
It's a similar thing to Natter. Explaining it can be done very quickly and easily.
I think there should be a limit, but it doesn't have to be low. I mean, 50 characters should be more than enough to explain why something was deleted. Maybe 100 if we're stretching it.
Quest 64 threadI was thinking more like along the lines of 300 characters or so. Long enough to give a fairly detailed explanation if necessary, but not long enough to enable somebody to, say, paste in the lyrics to "Giggle at the Ghostly".

I just think we should avoid the Wall of Text, since it's entirely annoying as is. I mean, clear, concise, and witty still applies to everywhere on the main wiki, I'm not sure why edit reasons would be seperate from that. Although, it probably is, but either way, we want exact reasoning.
Quest 64 threadSo long enough to be thorough but not so long that some one can have a rant, does that sound right?
Sounds good to me. Though most rude edit reasons are short enough that I don't see this solving that particular problem.
Welcome To TV Tropes | How To Write An Example | Text-Formatting Rules | List Of Shows That Need Summary | TV Tropes Forum | Know The StaffI think the current small box discourages long reasons.
Mad Scientist! MWAHHAAHAHThere's a difference between rude and a rant.
Probably unnecessary, bumping to clarify.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanConcurring. Text Walls as edit reasons are not common enough to justify implementing this.
If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?I could go with either not implementing character limits or making them fairly large (say, 250 characters). The latter would prevent the occasional Wall of Text reason while still allowing complex reasons to be stated.
And if not, should there be?
