That being said not sure if he can go the distance, Max might very well figure out a way to handle him and he probably lacks Dabblers skill-monkeying and Darude's sheer scale of attack.

Wonder if Maxima will leave a better suited subordinate to deal with this guy or not? And what might be the reaction that.
I get the feeling this dude really wanted to be on the short list of dudes who could tussle with Maxima and get pwned off to one of her subordinates might either sting his ego something or mollify him that he "made her flee".
Maxima has repeatedly tried to teach the importance of Tactical Rock–Paper–Scissors. This situation isn't a bad matchup for her, but it's non-optimal, so getting help from someone else is better than dropping a nuke.
I think she'll let Stalwart help, because it's not like he's leaving someone else to die while he's busy here. If she doesn't let him help, that will be something she needs to work on later.

My brain immediately went to an anecdote I read several years back of someone managing to clear out an entire building by discharging pepper spray nearby an air intake (at a school, if I recall correctly, with them supposedly thinking it was a safe way to show off their keychain spray since "all of the pepper would be whisked away"), but a bit of quick Googling suggests that airplanes are pretty strict about moving internal air outside, bringing in new air from the inside, and heavily filtering everything else. Still not a great thing in a closed tube like that, but a bit less likely that they'd be treating multiple people for difficulty breathing...
