I actually like seeinv Mike strugglinv against someone far mofe competent. My beef with a lot of media, especially in espionage genre, is that the villains can be far too Genre Blind at times, in comparison to the heroes. I like seeing him just barely getting out of tough situations.

I habe to say, I don't really like what Fiona is doinv in this season.

The show made her and Michael out to be so much an OTP that seeing her with anyone else just didn't sit right. Outside of that ambulance driver she dated for a while. He seemed more like a toy for her and less like a boyfriend.

Yeah, Carlos feels awfully unnecessary. It seems that he's up to no good as well.

Watched ep 6-7. Man, I really needed that Michael's infiltration gig. [lol]

Eh, Carlos was there to show Michael the price he paid for getting in good with the CIA. His deal was not cheap, and it hurt him badly.

Just finished ep 10.

Jesus, Mike killing Steel was pretty painful. I mean, we only saw him for one episode, but he sounds like a very nice guy.

I think by now (well, since a while ago) I can pretty tell if a supposed helper is a traitor or not. [lol]

I liked the way Carlos was taken out of the story was pretty tasteful, without making him look petty or anything.

All right, three more episodes to go!

And finished the series.

I couldn't help but thinking that Fionna made things unnecessarily complex. I mean, couldn't she have waited until after James was turned in? Then again, if Mike went to that point, should he inevitably betray, the Family would hunt him down anyway, led by Sonya, instead of James. Hmm...I did like the idea of Mike running his own spy organization, but it was turning Mike pretty dark, so I guess it was out of question.

Man, the finale had so much call back to the intro and first episode. So much explosion and duct-taping (I found the way Sam used it hilarious), and everybody saying their intro line, and not only that, what a nice Call-Back to the very first line of the series.

Good to see that Sam and Jesse are free and most likely will keep doing what they do; helping out people with their super special spy skill (I smell possible sequel!). I'm guessing that Mike and Fionna are now living in Ireland, presumably protected by that brother of Fionna that Mike rescued and those related to him. Man, what a family Westen is. Dad killed, mom blew herself up, younger brother got sniped, and the oldest son (on paper) dead.

I suppose it was a fitting ending to the series. I think Mike could never be free until he lost all the ties to his previous life, and what better way to actually "die"? All in all, it was a very unique and fun series. Its charm will have impact on me for long time.

My only problem with the series is that it dragged on with who burned Mike and such. I think the Myth Arc could and should have been wrapped up in 4 to 5 seasons, with major antagonists being around just that many number. I mean, I highly doubt that characters like Gilroy and Simon were really necessary; I don't think there wasn't anything the latte could that Larry couldn't have, for one thing - Just condense the roles.

I kinda want to see a sequel now focusing on Charlie, who ends up joining SAS and then M16. At some point in his life, the identity of Michael and Fionna gets out, and God knows how many enemies they made over the time, there will be some who want to track them down, and that sort of things.

Again, a great series, although sadly not too popular. It certainly deserves more love, if you ask me.

Aye, that it does. I loved this one when it wasn't dragging on. Sadly, it kept dragging on.

I'm just glad Mike and Fi lived.

What's everyone's thoughts on Jesse? While impressively badass, I always thought he was miscast. Coby's strong suit is being Vin Diesel, not witty banter or tender romance with Fi.

Another thing, the show had dozens of guest actors who teased at coming back. I would have taken any of those, like the gangster from "The Hunter", as a new regular.

And yet, jesse was good at both banter and romance. I look forward to a Sam/Jesse spinoff.

A LOT of the Villain of the Week guys were forgettable. I wouldn't have minded some of the clients coming back. Like that counterfeiter they helped during the "sword theft" ep, or the crazy guy that saw aliens everywhere. Or Seymour from season 1. (Not a client, but still.)

Seymour, the Alien Guy, Sugar, and Tommy, I would have liked to see all of them again.

Say, does anyone outside Sam and Jesse know that Mike and Fionna are still alive?

I agree with the Jesse/Fi Ship Tease but the banter between Sam and Jesse was some of the best stuff in later years as Michael fell more into Cerebus Syndrome. I thought Coby Bell did the best when Jesse was written as a hotheaded Michael, but his skill set and personality after the fourth season became more like early seasons Michael. While Jeffrey Donovan could pull off the bookish tech guy, Coby Bell is too overly muscled to pull off those kind of non-action characters. He did fine playing thugs, DEA agents and such because he can never really pull off a non-threatening individual; like it or not but how you look tends to define the roles you will get.

Looking back one problem the series had was trying to flesh out the rest of the cast as independent people, Michael's Myth Arc dominated the story. There were plenty of spotlight episodes for them but it was almost always in relation to whatever Michael was dealing with. That's one of the reasons I liked Burn Notice The Fall Of Sam Axe because it kept Michael well on the sidelines.

Fi and Jesse should've gotten their own movies as well.

Oh yeah, I forgot that there was a Ship Tease going on between those two.

I wish Jesse joined the cast earlier, somewhere around the second or the third season.

Here's a funny fact: The guy who saw aliens everywhere was played by an actor who's real name IS Michael Weston.

How's that for amusing?

I've been rewatching this on DVD, and I've gotta ask: Why does the pilot look so much different from the second episode? How long did it take to go from pilot to show?

I don't know how they did it with Burn notice specifically, but usually USA network starts with the pilot and only if it's picked up it will do a short season. So there should be a year or so between pilot and second episode.

Very good show. I'll probably rewatch it yet again some time. Not soon though, no need to.
