I agree. The "Fic" abbreviation annoys me for some reason.
Me Too!. Always hated it for some reason I never really understood. We can easily keep Fan Fic as a redirect, but I'd prefer Fan Fiction as the main title.
Sounds like a good idea.
I didn't write any of that.Agreed. No need to change wicks though, right? I mean, there's no harm in people linking this as Fan Fic. Having the full name as the main title just makes it more clear.
Fan Fic is an obvious redirect/contraction of Fan Fiction, I don't see a problem with changing it and leaving the wicks.
And I am in favor of changing it.
Nous restons ici.Would be good to change on a few of the major pages about this trope, like pages for shipping and fanfiction sites.
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.Easy to fix, links can be jinxed to make {Fan Fic} show as Fan Fiction, no problems.
Please no. Custom Name renames are evil and should never be used. There is no need to change all the wicks, at any rate.
Unless the name requires special punctuation. Claiming "never" implies you think it shouldn't be around in the first place. If you meant not using it for stealth renames, you should have clarified.
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.Support the rename, been bugging me since I first saw it. There's no real reason to custom title the name or even change any of the wicks, though.
I'm not bothered either way, but a rename seems appropriate.
It does not matter who I am. What matters is, who will you become? - motto of Omsk Bird"Fic" is the abbreviation meant for the subcategories within Fan Fiction.
As such, "Fic" should stay the same for the subcategories. As for Fan Fiction, I have time to say both syllables of "Fiction" and, as such, do that.

To add a dissenting vote, this is a very commonly used contraction/abbreviation and I see no inherent need to change it if it's working. Grammar naggling is not sufficient reason to rename.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"As pointed out in the OP, it's like referring to Buffy The Vampire Slayer as Buffy as its title. Or the Play Station 3 as the PS 3. Yes, people know what you mean, but it's not correct.
It's not grammar naggling, it's naming the media form its correct name. We don't call Literature just "Lit", despite the many high school students that do. We don't call Roleplays "RPs", even though that's the near exclusive term used for it on most forums. It stands out as a discrepancy from our normal practices.
And ninja'd.
Okay, thanks.

Well, it's already a redirect. Crowner to swap titles, and I suppose eventually fix wicks but I don't see the point.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"And I don't see the reason not to.
I didn't write any of that.Seems fussy and pedantic.
Goal: Clear, Concise and WittyIt's the pre-established term for the medium. If it was a trope, it would seem fussy, but it's more than that.
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.I don't see a problem with renaming.
meepmeepmeep.I don't think those con arguments are valid. 1. Genres of fanfiction are called that even by people who refer to the medium by its full name. 2. Namespaces aren't always the exact name of a medium. We have Animated/ for Western Animation, for one thing.
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.I question the pro argument as well, though. Maybe it's just the circles I go in, but I hear "fanfic" a lot more than "fan fiction". And, as a site called "TV Tropes", with trope names like "Put on a Bus", "Stuffed in the Fridge", and "Cell Phone", we should be well aware that just because something is an abbreviation doesn't mean it's not also correct.

132 is the rudest number.Fan Fic is the term that I hear the more of the two. I only ever hear Fan Fiction when people are talking about fanfiction.net
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickI also hear "fanfic" a lot, so it's not just you. Still, if some users are bothered by the abbreviation and nobody is bothered by the fuller form of the word, I don't have a problem with changing it.

Crown Description:
Vote up for yes, down for no.
It's like calling the Buffy The Vampire Slayer page just "Buffy". I suggest a rename to its proper title.
