Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! I'm editing this OP and pinning it to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.

He wouldn't notice because he's an ant
New theme music also a boxAnd yet it didn’t
Forever liveblogging the AvengersAlright, women shooting lasers out of their hands, teenagers getting superhuman strength from spider bites, and purple ballsack-chinned men wielding cosmic gauntlets, I get.
But that is plainly ridiculous, good sir.
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!Something I wouldn’t mind now that we have Fox: Liz Allan becoming Firestar in Spider-Man Homeboy 3.
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.Once, around about the Morrison JLA run in fact, Darkseid wasn’t wanked up to universe ending levels like he was during the Morrison Final Crisis
Forever liveblogging the AvengersThe difference with that is in that story, Darkseid had a personal forcefield, so the Atom had to shrink so small that he rode in on a light beam and then into Darkseid's eye and into his brain, where he caused Darkseid to have a crippling seizure.
People need to learn to make opaque force fields. Its their vanity what does them in.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersIn the Ultimates (2015) comics, Monica Rambeau attempted a non-lethal version of this, intending to turn into light, go in through Thanos' eyes, turn into electricity and Fry Thanos' brain. The main wiki says she even used this tactic against Shuma-Gorath.
It didn't quite work, as Thanos, who recently manifested some telepathic ability, noticed her in his brain, which he made so dark and evil that she was forced to eject. This was also the second time in short order that this particular tactic backfired, as America Chavez prevented it by creating small portals directly in front of her eyes.
Theoretically, if she went with a more lethal route of entering through the eye then returning to full size (as a hard light construct, which is effectively her default state), she could've done it.

The sad, REAL American dichotomyThat reminds me: you know who I always wanted to see in the films and was disappointed we ultimately didn’t get? The Living Laser.
His powers are so cool. I’ve also always wanted to see a Flash / Iron Man crossover comic where he teams up with Mirror Master.

That thumbnail really is..... interesting.
I learned how to do an embedded video just for this actually.
Wait does this count as NSF?

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."It's easy to forget that Thanos' entire mission was to get it on with the literal embodiment of Death.
I sort of dislike Infinity War for removing that. One of the last scenes of Avengers was him smirking at the idea of "courting Death." I was curious how that would be portrayed.
But no. Resources.
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!On the other hand, introducing a living, anthropomorphic personification of Death is a pretty far out concept. It works in the comics inasmuch as long time readers are more used to such things, or can just ignore that side of things. But in the movies it would change the pseudo-realistic tone into something else entirely...
"These 'no-nonsense' solutions of yours just don't hold water in a complex world of jet-powered apes and time travel."I don't think the audience really cares about things being "pseudo-realistic" anymore.
In any case, you don't to actually introduce her, just have him proclaim his love for Death.
Not to mention having the villain the MCU had been building up to since the Avengers just be a who wanted to get laid would be... anti-climactic to say the least.
Well it would have been darkly amusing.
The lengths a man will go to far love........ & the things he actually does love.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."We do have Hela, a death goddess...and well, I can see how someone would be into her.
Having said that, I don't think it would be in character for this version of Thanos. A lot of his actions actually are best explained as him wanting to do what he thinks is the right thing.
"Any campaign world where an orc samurai can leap off a landcruiser to fight a herd of Bulbasaurs will always have my vote of confidence"Is no one else really gonna talk about the video I posted that has a thumbnail of Thanos in his briefs in bed next to an alien chick he just banged?

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."its too lewd
New theme music also a boxdaddy
"In 900 years of time and space I've never met anyone who wasn't important."Be glad they didn't use that pic of Dummy Thicc Thanos.
Would someone please think of the children!
New theme music also a boxHis children are all grown-ups.
They are mature enough to comprehend that daddy has his downtime.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."

I feel like that would kill the Atom before it would even annoy Darkseid.
