Crafting health packs? So this WON'T have regenerating health? :O
Storyline and world seem very generic but I doubt that's the focus and I like the art style and the fact that they're going for a more wide open shooter.
Yeah, I'm pretty interested.

I know a lot of folks who worked on this and I was quite sad the Bethesda booth was press-only at E3 because I didn't get a hands-on look at what they've been up to.
Id hasn't been as down and out as people say they have. Sure the recent Quakes and Dooms were cookie cutter but they were decent games that made some money.
I probably liked Quake IV more for the story/narrative/plot-y bits and the setting.

"Hipsters: the most dangerous gang in the US." - Pacific MackerelI got to play Rage at Quake Con today, it was a refreshing taste on FPS games. The graphics were gorgeous, and the enemy animations were some of the best I have seen. It's also really fun!
I need to make a troper page D:So you don't get the sewer level if you buy used
*recalls every single sewer level played*
I've never seen such an incentive to buy a game used!
^Wait, they're seriously doing that "buy the game new or else" stuff?
I think that pales in comparison to the possibility of Persistent Connection requirements.
"Hipsters: the most dangerous gang in the US." - Pacific MackerelGone gold. That is all.
Jonah FalconBumping this since it's coming out tomorrow (which is also my birthday, yay!). Anyone else getting it at midnight?
Somehow you know that the time is right.Well I for one am getting it on Friday (yay anarchy edition!) due to me residing in the UK. Looking forward to it all right.
Tomorrow is also my birthday, but I'm picking it up later tonight, AKA there's a midnight opening at my local Gamestop.

But Inferno, Happy Birthday to you, too.

Somehow you know that the time is right.Heck yeah.
Very big Daydream Believer. "That's not knowledge, that's a crapshoot!" -Al Murray "Welcome to QI" -Stephen FryI love how one of the pre-order bonuses are just plain fists.
Seeing the commercials for this game, it made me think of Borderlands wihtout the cell shading.
I have a huge backlog of video games as it is to play so this one's going to have to wait. I still havent installed the Mass Effect 2 that I bought several months ago.
This Space for RentWell, having played Rage for a bit now, I will start with criticism:
Checkpoints are where you exit one loadscreen and nowhere else. Save often.
The first pistol is inaccurate and underpowered. Don't rely on it, even for headshots, at least until you get the fatboy rounds.
The "Not dying" minigame is fun.
the Monocular is really annoying, since, dammit, I like my crappy iron sights on one handed weapons! D: and I can't switch from it at all.
I encountered a glitch with the sawn off shotgun which caused it to keep coming out of iron sights constantly. It would jsut loop. Saving and restarting didn't help, but getting into a vehicle did. God help you if you get it in a level without vehicles.
That's all I can think of. I like it so far.
Very big Daydream Believer. "That's not knowledge, that's a crapshoot!" -Al Murray "Welcome to QI" -Stephen FryGood to know but two questions. Is the driving good in the game and what is the "not dying" minigame?

What I've done of the driving (only used the starting ATV so far) is not bad in my opinion. Controls are pretty precise and when you put on the brakes you stop really quickly (though it may just be with that vehicle, I don't know). Haven't done any races yet. The not dying minigame has you powering up a (surgically implanted, I think) defibrillator by moving the analog sticks and pressing the shoulder buttons. How precise you are with it determines how much health you get when it revives you. It has to recharge after you use it, which takes a while, so if you die while it's recharging you're dead for real and have to reload your last save. Sort of makes dying not too annoying and not too cheap.

Somehow you know that the time is right.Ahh, sounds brilliant then. Thanks for the reply Inferno.
How old are you now by the way?
I'm now 25, though I really don't feel it. Gonna fire the game back up in a little bit and see what other nifty stuff there is to do in it.
Somehow you know that the time is right.
What is it? It's like Mad Max and Fallout. Also, read this: http://kotaku.com/5826646/rage-is-the-id-software-comeback-ive-been-waiting-for
My impressions? It sounds great and I can't wait.
