You know, I never actually played any Digimon games.
I love this series far more than Pokemon because this series does not shy away from violence (yes, I do acknoledge that it is not necessary for good storytelling but fuck you, I like it) and even death. Even more importantly, it has a coherent storyline that has ends.
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel.I wish to have played more Digimon games, I find them so entertaining. On the other hand, I'm pretty damn shitty at video games so I usually only play them if they're from a franchise I like which is why half my current PS 3 games are Dragon Ball Z haha. I also like that Digimon can be darker than Pokemon, and addresses how dangerous the mons can be.
I want to do a Let's Play of Digimon World if i can, but i'm not great with electronics/programing or whatever. Also i don;t have a copy so i'd have to find a computer version of it.
I know where you can get a rom, I has roms for 1 2 and 3. But the rom for 1 is veeeeery glitchy.
Never liked Digimon World 1. I found it hard and confusing, and it lacked a lot of Digimon. Probably because most of them weren't invented yet I guess.
I've only played the first Rumble Arena, but I loved that. Omnimon and Reapermon are beyond broken though. Plus Takato's voice... ugh.
Aaaand, I've completed World Dawn, and played a bit of Dusk and World DS. Okay games, but they didn't keep my attention much.
Isn't the game glitchy to begin with? Are they computer breaking glitches?
I think my rom is pretty bad though... havn't actually played it because I still havn't gotten around to finishing 3 as I got stuck on the second fight with Bulbmon after not having saved it in AGES (thinking I was invincible due to having Omnimon and Imperialdramon FM on my team), and I probably won't continue it. But from what I played at the start, the text is nearly impossible to understand due to glitched text boxes.
I love the Digimon Franchise, Though I think the games Pokemon has are better, the anime series for Digimon is defnately superior.
Watch SymphogearYeah, that's how I feel as well. I think the Digimon games could have serious potential however (I loved the rumble arena games!)
I wouldn't mind an Arc System Works fighter for this series, though.
Watch SymphogearAll I know of Arc System Works is Supersonic Warriors, which was pretty good for a game with limited characters. Hoping number two is good, when I get it.
Blazblue and guilty gear they made those too
As long as any ASW-made Digimon games don't have any kind of Score Attack and dub the battle quotes, it'll be awesome indeed.
Another thing thatI think should happen is Digimon getting a crossover game with Super Robot Wars.
Especially when you consider this:
Doesn't this seem rather familiar?
Watch SymphogearWe've been making those comparisons since the start, silly. Also, the game that recently came out is named after SRW. :p
So yah, should I watch Savers, or go directly to Xros Wars? I got one opinion, but I wanted a few more before deciding.
Savers is pretty good too. Xros Wars is getting a second series though, but I would recommend Savers as well.
Oh, and Digimon X Evolution too, if you haven't seen that.
Watch SymphogearOk, just finished watching X revolution. Pretty freakin awesome. Makes me feel like binging on a bunch of anime movies.
Damn right he is! Shoutmon at first looked crap but man, watching the whole show really made me love the guy. Honestly, he makes much of a good companion to Masaru yet at the same time his chemistry with Taiki works too. He isn't hindered by his size too, as his fireballs are very powerful and despite his size his punches and movements are very strong and fast. He has a heart of justice and really trusts and protects his friends (damn, that special moment with Ballistamon is rather tearful too). He's the only one insane enough to fight the final boss head on, and pretty much has some awesome creeds ("Yeah I felt pain from your attacks, but your attitude pissed me off that the pain went away!" and "You wanna know who I am? Then I'm gonna tell you with my burning heart!"). Essentially, he is the most developed main Digimon (although it's not surprising, as the main Digimon cast are very developed, much more so than the humans). Also he looks like Getter Robo 1.
Besides, it's not the first Digimon that is definitely a toy. Omegamon sure is, same with Imperialdramon (a.k.a. Transformers!). Hell, Digimon Reboot modeling kits pretty much present that idea.
And you know what, I think I'll gush on the other primary Digimon of the good guys too.
Ballistamon - at first was just the Gentle Giant of the cast who is a yes-man of sorts. Being a robotic beetle Digimon, it wasn't unexpecting, and leaving him like that is expected. Then we realized that he has a bit of a snarky side in him. And then that Gold Land episode, oh dear. True to his personality, despite realizing that he was The Mole, he stayed with the gang because he wanted to stick with Shoutmon ever since he was rescued by him. Oh and he likes art.
Dorulumon - a typical lone wolf (although accompanied by a kid), well literally too, a Big, Badass Wolf. Doesn't like to be bound by rules. However, he takes care of Cutemon because he thinks he's responsible for destroying Cutemon's village, being an ex-soldier of the enemy army. He shows that he has that Papa Wolf attitude towards Cutemon while at the same time very loyal. While he's a snarker especially towards Shoutmon, he respects him as well as Taiki. His old status was brought up again later on, making him rather nervous, but then he realized that Taiki trusts him to the fault, even when the enemy was trying to break the team.

Hey its Ice Devimon at 1:10
Yeah I am just going to say that every digimon we saw in the series was brought back for that Xros even the really evil ones like Lucemon and Gravimon.
If this Xros worked the way it did then that means only 3 digimon died in this series.
Dark Knightmon, Bagramon and Whispered (he is a part of Apollomon and not actully a digimon so he would not have been brought back.)
Ok, i've been watching Digimon Savers subbed (up to ep 14 as of this writing) and it's pretty good. I thought that whoever voiced Yoshino was kind of boring sounding though. She's not very lively.
Really reminds me of Gao Gai Gar.
I wonder if we'll ever gonna have it subbed.
I love Digimon, got to agree about how it has more potential than Pokemon for not limiting evolutions. I still think they need to make Digimon Rumble Arena 3 on PS 3. That would be so awesome. That PSP game also looks good, too bad I don't have a PSP though :P Actually, I think they need to remake Digimon World 1 or 3 on PS 3, that would be all kinds of epic.
Of course, Digimon World 3 would need a LOT of fixing to make it less grind wise and what not. And to add more playable Digimon. Actually, a new PS 3 Digmon World game would make me die with joy. The last game I played after Digimon Rumble Arena 2 was Digimon World Dawn, I thought that was pretty good, but I had to use an emulator because they don't sell the game in Australia (and I thought DS were region locked), because Frontier completely killed Digimon in Australia.
On the topic of English vs Japanese terms, I mostly go with English terms unless I find a Japanese term cooler (Ground Zero for one, I think is just immensely intimidating which suits Skull Greymon).
