Part of it that the ship mechanics (like pretty much all other mechanics cribbed from earlier installments) have been simplified to some extent. No longer do weather or waves damage your ship, nor does running into the coast. The enemy ships never get above what would be medium heavy in BF, and you can forget about legendary ships entirely.
The boosting and turning on a dime, if anything, makes MORE sense in Odyssey, however, where ships DO have rowers who could perform such feats. BF's sails-only ships, not so much.
Optimism is a duty.I hope the final DLC adds Mt. Olympus as an explorable area. I keep seeing it off in the distance, tantalizing me. In a game that's all about climbing as high as you can and jumping off into space, leaving out the home of the gods is almost criminal.
That's actually accurate to Triremes though. Because of the oars and rowers, the ships can manage to turn on basically a dime.
Ah, those days of AC I, when a dozen hours of solid gameplay was considered a huge bonus. Now, you'd be lucky to finish at 50.

Optimism is a duty.I'd enjoy Odyssey more if it weren't for the grind, the shallow as hell choice/roleplaying mechanics, and the host of abilities that just feel useless because I can only equip a few at a time. I'll have to dive back into it at some point, but unlike Origins (which I had trouble putting down) I am not getting into this one.
Maybe I'll just turn down the difficulty and see if things ever pick up.

Politics is the skilled use of blunt objects.Combat in Origins was much easier even at higher difficulty levels because Bayek could knock enemies down with his heavy, and he could charge his heavy attacks. Add that to the fact that you could get a Legendary weapons that recharges your hitpoints with each hit on the enemy, and you were effectively unkillable.
That said, enemy archers cheat. Their bowshots curve to hit you. You can tell because the white trail they leave behind clearly bend for the arrows to hit you.

Say to the others who did not follow through You're still our brothers, and we will fight for youYeah, Odyssey feels like an uphill slog sometime, and progression often feels...anemic. It certainly isn't Oblivion bad on that front or anything, but its there.
Politics is the skilled use of blunt objects.Playing a New Game Plus, which is pretty fun.
The Isu sure loved their feature creep. Want a powerful spear that helps you fight? Why not also make it a storage device for your memories of fighting people?
It's kinda odd how there is an Isu temple RIGHT THERE in the open, and no one seems to know or care about it. Then again, the Isu seem to have left their fog machine on.
They really should do something about how deadly fire is. Just one swipe from a fire weapon or arrow, and I'm as good as dead, even when I'm four levels over everyone else and have maxed out fire/poison resistance.
Your laptop in the present time also seems to know things that haven't happened in the game yet. Like how it has a file on Aletheia, who you haven't met at that point yet in the actual game (and couldn't possibly meet at that point, either).

Optimism is a duty. You know, the fact that Ubisoft Quebec did the Tyranny of King Washington tracks considering what Odyssey has.

Eating a Vanilluxe will give you frostbite.I don't follow? I feel like part of your sentence is missing?
Ok, I'm not the only one. I was a little lost but felt like I'd be seen as stupid.
The sentence is complete. They're just leaving out whatever "Oddysey has"
Assuming it's obvious to us all
Say to the others who did not follow through You're still our brothers, and we will fight for youI do not follow, but, hrrm, sure?
What I meant by that was, the Tyranny of King Washington has Connor get what amounts to basically magical powers through the Red Willow tea, and in Odyssey the Spear of Leonidas grants all sorts of powers to its wielder.
Eating a Vanilluxe will give you frostbite.Hmm, this is strange. In the bear cave where you kill the cultist Zoisme, there used to be this little bowl which gives an interesting light show effect, with a set of spinning arcs of light on it. The bowl is still there, but the special effect has gone. What could this mean? Was this not supposed to be in the game?
Optimism is a duty.Has anyone found any easter eggs underwater? There is so much ocean, and you could dive anywhere you want with the infinite air ability. Though when you dive deep enough, it gets too dark to see a thing.
Optimism is a duty. There's this odd thing at the Cave of the Oracle/Sanctuary of the Muses. In a deep cave, there is an underground tree lit by a fire, and a little girl crying constantly there. You cannot interact with her, and there doesn't seem to be anything else there apart from the usual metal growths on the walls.
Optimism is a duty. From the AC Wiki, on Kleon:
Waaait... seriously? Kleon a stand in for Trump? And you get to DROWN him in a puddle, like a coward? Wow, that's some harsh political commentary, there.
Optimism is a duty. The funny thing is... that isn't really the developers making much up. Kleon really WAS a populist in history, with a penchant for sloganeering (If the histories are anything to go by).
If anything it's a possible coincidence with SOME modern overlay. He was an actual military General, with experience, but did the whole "Man of the people" thing. And prior to his rise he'd mainly just been a critic from the sidelines. Also he employed a LOT of spies and informants.

If anything I think this just shows that society seems to trend towards certain "types" of people in authority.
This "smart" loot system they put in is ridiculous. Apparently, because I kill a lot of people with arrows, I now get almost nothing BUT bows as loot. I just had to sell over 200 of the things, twice in a row, and in the meantime, I barely got much new armor or weapons at all, especially bracers.
Optimism is a duty.Oh my god that is hilarious.
What the fuck man?
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."You tell me. I've been going around killing hundreds and hundreds of soldiers in melee to get all the engravings for weapons, so you tell me what my playstyle is right now.
And of course there is no option to turn it off.
Optimism is a duty. So, what you're saying is that Abstergo has implemented Clippy into the Animus:
"I see you're trying to assassinate someone with a bow. Would you like some more advanced bows to go with that?"
"WHAT? No, I'm using a frikking spear!"
"I've helpfully reformatted your entire arsenal as I see that's an arrow you're using."
"NO! IT'S A BLOODY SPEAR! Yes, it's long and pointy so it LOOKS like an arrow, but it is not an arrow."
"Have another bow."
Mediterranean sea isn't as infamous as Atlantic for storms though
