[up] I intend to! grin Since it was in the last few episodes of the series that I was actually paying attention.

hmm, those monsters are a pale substitution to the incomplete chiropterans from Blood Plus

too goofy looking to be scary. and something is missing when you have dozens of Off-Model people being blendered, compared to highly detailed Red Shirts getting slain one after another.

just the first couple minutes of vietnam in the first episode of blood plus was scarier.

The flickering, fading light of the flares.

The brief flashes (less is more, why Alien is so freaking scary) of blood drenched "things"

Soldiers firing to no avail

The girl slaying monsters, soldiers and children alike.

The inhuman, glowing eyes being the last image, as the flares go out.

Damn blood plus is a vastly superior anime. a shame they couldn't air episodes detailing the past more, maybe the series from Diva's (Broken Bird, Woobie, Destroyer of Worlds) perspective.

Or even the manga retelling, where diva DOESN'T cross the Moral Event Horizon (though since she is Blue-and-Orange Morality, it's a bit unfair for fans to judge her so harshly, compared to her genocidal twin)

I don't think Blood-C is meant to be scary.

I think it -tries- to be scary.

In the end, both the series and the movie just gave me headaches.

The Blood-C series is probably meant to be horrifying, which isn't quite the same thing as being scary

sooo, have any of you seen Blood Plus first episode?

how does it compare in your opinion?

for the most part, i found it to be a very good anime, not too short, engaging characters (even the villains had likable moments) and very few "bad moments" (which ruined death note and almost ruined code geass for me)

though the chiropterans remind me of the highlander immortals (can only be killed via beheading)

though red shield basically put all the pressure on saya by stating that only SHE could kill them, using her blood (though Haji partially decapitated one, the schiff and corpse corps decapitated several, solomon killed 2 higher level ones offscreen. and saya, diva's mother, had most of her head destroyed) and the us military used high yield explosives (fae or thermobaric) to basically liquify them. i'm sure fast acting nerve agents (sarin, vx, pfesteria dinoflagellate toxin) would be effective too

they actually didn't have regeneration, just high speed healing and the power to hibernate for long periods (one was partially encased in cement for decades)

oddly the team that went to vietnam were so called chiropteran hunters, but had the least effective weapons with them (flamethrowers with napalm-b would work better than assault rifles)

did blood c saya need phlebotem to kill bairns, or just hack them a bunch?

aesthetic wise, i have to say blood c is below blodd plus and the blood movies

I prefer the previous Blood series-movies, even though I can hardly remember the details of what went on in those previous versions.

Let's just say that the previous versions entertained me enough that I immediately gave Blood C a try when it came out. Had Blood C came out first, I'd be more inclined to avoid/ignore the franchise than immediately watch.

It's been a while, but most of what I remember thinking about Blood Plus was that it was considerably slower than it needed to be. That and that Kai was an intolerable little shit

Not that Blood-C is much of an improvement in terms of speed

Watched the movie. Decent, I guess. It was mostly Mokona and Watanuki that entertained me.

I... can't say I'm enjoying this as much as I thought I would. This show seems to be a slow burn 4 episodes in.
