This sounds like something that could work out better for hand-drawn animation, I will be proven wrong if this is about as good as Tangled.
Disney will obviously try to draw in gamers of the most popular, expensively-made video games on the market. What type of animation do those games have? CG.
I'd love to see homages to Nintendo's games too.
Sounds awesome imo
....Why8-Bit Platformer would have a more simplistic look in addition to the bright colors
I normally kind of understand accusations that movies should be in 2d animation instead of CG (though I, personally, would rather see more 2d animation rather than less CG animation). But the premise of this movie really means that it makes more sense in CG, so I see the idea that it should be in 2d animation as blind ideology.
At first I didn't realize I needed all this stuff...The 3D might fit this, but there really should at least be some other 2D animation out there.
Emperor Wu liked cake, but not exploding cake!If you acknowledge that this is the best course for this film to take, then why the hell are you complaining about this issue in a topic on this film?
At first I didn't realize I needed all this stuff...We're complaining about the complainers now, I think
8-bit was clearly a 2D style. I can see the film opening in a 2D platform sequence to establish the premise to the audience, then transitioning to the CG equivalent of that in three dimensions, where we really get to know the characters and storyline, and where it will have the same kind of quality as Tangled (think Mario for Nintendo 64).

I wouldn't mind for the ending credits to have hand-drawn animation.
HELL YEAH!
I am completely, utterly, and thoroughly done with Sola Sonica and 2DI came up with the idea of, as a Logo Joke, the music (and possibly the visuals) for the Walt Disney Pictures logo being in 8-bit form, like what they did with the Universal logo in Scott Pilgrim Vs The World.
Looking for some stories?Disney did have some computer hardware and games of the 80s.
They should feature some of it.
Hm that opening logo hasn't yet been altered at all since its debut in Meet The Robinsons- I doubt they will for this film.
Not the Disney Animation logo, the regular Walt Disney Pictures logo with the castle.
By the way, the Disney Animation logo was slightly altered for Tangled to acknowledge it being their 50th animated feature. So they have played with it a little.
Looking for some stories?I know you're talking about the Walt Disney logo with the castle.
It's true that they haven't played with it for their animated movies. It was just an idea I had. You had me a little confused because the current logo was first used on Pirates of the Caribbean 2. The Disney Animation logo was the one that premiered with Meet The Robinsons.
Looking for some stories?lol yeah, they now have two openings that both premiered around the same point of time.

I wasn't expecting the characters to spend a good amount of time OUTSIDE of the arcade games they inhabit. But according to the link I posted above, it looks like the characters can "leap out and back into their own games during the after hours of the arcade gaming room, and interact with one another". This reminds me too much of Toy Story, which I fear.

Heat Miser? Is that you?
"If you're out here why do I miss you so much?"At least it's not like Megamind.
More Buscemi at http://forum.reelsociety.com/When I first heard about this, I envisioned something along the lines of "Gullivers Travels meets Tron." With the whole "leaping in and out of games" thing, it sounds as though I may be partially getting what I want!

Looking for some stories?I want to play that arcade machine!
I would like to see some screenshots of this before assuming it can be good or not. But however, I am a bit not impressed that its going to be a CG feature. This sounds like something that could work out better for hand-drawn animation, I will be proven wrong if this is about as good as Tangled.
I hope that there are a few shout outs to the Super Nintendo and Nes.
