AS PROMISED TO STARBOUND2 I AM HERE!

Character dump imminent!

  • Name: Unknown
  • Alias: The Vigil
  • Age: Unknown, but has been seen operating in Radio City since the sixties.
  • Gender: Unknown and widely speculated.
  • Appearance: The vigil uses a white hero suit, with boots, gloves and a belt. His suit has a blue V that comes from its shoulders and ends in the belt. The Vigil's mask covers its entire face and head with only two holes for the eyes. The masked vigilante's build is not the standard Superhero muscled body, instead it has a regular stature and slim build that betrays his or her true strength.
  • Abilities: The Vigil has enough strength to lift a vehicle, enhanced speed and its signature power is how it can control how gravity affects it. While it can't actually fly it can "run" up buildings, jump really high and at times fall slowly from the air. Additionally it also has some blunt throwing weapons and a couple of flash bombs.
  • Backstory: Vigil is probably the hero who has been protecting the city for the longest amount of time. Sightings of the masked vigilante date back to the sixties and since then it has maintained a nearly constant presence on the roofs of the city. For decades it was seen as a stoic and reserved individual, letting its actions speak for themselves as nobody was ever able to get a single word out of it. Come the new millennium and all the technologies that accompanied it and it was revealed that the main reason why the Vigil never said anything is because it was literally unable to. Vigil is completely mute... a disability it is now partially able to overcome by the use of a cellphone screen and insane typing skills. The way to contact it is widely known to the populace and in the present Vigil has a number of trusted contacts who regularly feed it information about the current events in the city.
  • Personality: A little reserved, naturally quiet and extremely resolute. Determined and mostly selfless from what the populace has been able to see. It dedicates most of its time to crime fighting, leaving little for practically anything else.

  • Name: Sophie Briant
  • Alias: Lycoris
  • Age: 28
  • Gender: Female
  • Abilities: She's able to perform all the amazing feats of agility ninjas in fiction have been expected to perform. Roof hopping, wall scaling, ceiling clinging, fast running, throw kunai mid-air, you name it. The things she can't do are the magic tricks, like substituting herself with a log and such. The only magical thing she owns is her red scarf, which besides having the ability to turn darker for stealth also functions as a inter dimensional storage deposit, from which she can pull all the kunai, smoke bombs, guns, magazines ect that she put there earlier. Lycoris also uses it as a shield against bullets. Her final power is the ability to run a house or mansion exceedingly well and to clean a messy room in under a minute.
  • Appearance: A woman dressed in what would be a mix between a maid uniform, a ninja costume and red scarf. As such while she uses a white maid hair band her lower face is obscured by a ninja mask. She has shoulder length brown hair and green eyes.
  • Backstory: Kidnapped at a young age during a trip to Japan courtesy of her Japanophile parents, she ended up being raised by an organization of criminals, the which using techniques both modern and ancient, took on various Assassination jobs. Still they treated her well aside from the harsh training and stopping her numerous attempts to escape. By the time she was an adult and ready to take on missions on her own they were family to her. Sophie then started to take on missions the last of which was to assassinate a certain millionaire by the name of Cassandra. The details of what happened during the two years she infiltrated her mansion, working as a maid to earn her trust are unknown. Sophie abandoned her mission and for a time dedicated herself to the usual villain fare... until she got a new opportunity to confront Cassandra Tal. The result of their fight is also unknown, but since that moment Sophie stopped all intents to murder the millionaire, instead developing a one-sided rivalry with the woman. She regularly sends her challenge letters telling the woman where she is doing her lastest robbery and to stop her if she dares.
  • Personality: Calm, collected and serious when she manages to focus on the work... though she's quite easily flustered by a certain millionaire. She has a childish side to her that surfaces once in a while.
  • Possessions: Magical Scarf in which there are stored numerous kunai, a couple pistols, some daggers, seven smoke bombs, an uzi, lots of spare magazines, a little pot of healing salve, some C4, a couple vials of poison, a short sword, anti-venom, a halberd, a broom, a suit, six Lycoris flowers, an evening dress, spare costumes, a black traditional ninja garb, bandages, a picture, a copy of the Count of Montecristo, bleach, a mop, a bucket and various cleaning utensils.

  • Name: Dorothy Mc Allister
  • Alias: The Loli Vampire Queen None, she hasn't decided on one yet.
  • Age: She has lost count.
  • Gender: Female.
  • Powers and/or weaknesses: Roughly the same as our other resident vampire, super strength (not that she would really like to use it, how utterly barbaric it is to rip someone to shreds with your hands), speed, regenerative abilities, turning people, hypnotism and such. What she really uses the most are her abilities to manipulate shadows, with the which she can materialize tentacles, spikes, hell-hounds and such. She has a dramatic streak so she tends to use her hypnosis mostly to make things seem scarier than they really are. As for weaknesses... if she's exposed to sunlight she'll be rendered as powerful as a 10 year old girl. A really weak 10 year old that doesn't go out much. Weapons that are made of silver, blessed or doused in holy water will be much more effective. Lastly while she cannot be killed if you deal her enough damage and then put a wooden stake though her heart she'll be rendered unconscious until it's taken off.
  • Appearance: That of a ten year old girl, with red eyes, long black hair and the palest skin. She wears elaborate black dresses and as such seems content to play along with the Gothic stereotype while entertaining super hero guests. While she's alone she'll prefer lighter dresses and to go around barefoot, though she'll outright kill anybody that sees her in such an undignified manner. While walking around the city she'll let her servants dress her in whatever is the current fashion for spoiled brats to go. She'll usually carry with her a parasol to protect herself from the sunlight and sunglasses in such occasions.
  • Backstory: Not much to say, she has been an exceedingly lazy vampire that was given the task by her fellow peers to keep an eye out for a certain member of their species that moved to Radio City. This vampire, unfortunately, got himself killed in almost no time... leaving Dorothy installed in a new city. Feeling like it was a pain to go through the whole hassle of moving out of the city Dorothy has decided to settle down in Radio City. However the poor vampire was nevertheless forced to move after the destruction of the city with all her people to a much humbler abode... a mansion on a quiet suburb of the city.
  • Personality: Vain, lazy, extremely proud and confident. Recently has developed a mischievous streak which has prompted her to dedicate herself a little bit more on the whole villain thing.
  • Possessions: Enough money to serve her whims, her parasol and a dedicated staff of guards, chauffeurs and general service.

Ah. A churn game then. They're always fun to play. Well, here's my character concept;

Name: Raziel

Age: Truly old - looks at cities and says "I remember when this was all lava. And we didn't have any fancy atmosphere in those days, no. With all your ozone layers, and solid crusts, you people don't know how good you've got it!"

Gender: Male

Appearance: He looks a lot like a homeless person. Which isn't surprising, as he prefers to live in one of his squalid little hovels that litter Radio City. He can generally be found wearing old, tough leather garments and hair shirts, maybe something roughly woven - never any new fabric or cut. And considering his age, that's encompassed most of the last millennium. His skin has the colour and consistency of old hide - sunburnt and weathered, full of lines etched deep into the skin. Long, brown matted beard and hair, with a few streaks of grey. He doesn't shave much, if at all, because his hair as tough as the rest of him, and it'd be wasteful to blunt sawblades simply to look smart for a day or two.

Costume (If Applicable): No costume - who needs more than one pair of clothes anyway? Get some leather - that stuff'll last for years. There's no need for all that stupid spandex malarkey that everyone seems to be wearing these days.

Personality: Crotchety, but will help those who need it, and gives advice to those who ask for it. A decent bloke, but not the best person to have a heart-to-heart with.

Biography: He's been floating 'round, in one form or another, since this rock formed. Originally there were more like him, but they have slowly dwindled over the years, either moving off to different worlds, or deciding to die for real. In the interim, he's done every job under the sun, but his mainstay is the standard "wise old hermit". When you've been around as long as he has, you tend to notice the patterns, and give people the advice that they need - "History tends to repeat itself", and all that. Although he has fought, he has never killed, nor fathered no children, nor ruled, and never wishes to. He has the annoying tendency to answer a question with a question, and enjoyed collecting stories of the unexplainable. His aim in life is simply to make everything better in the long run, through a multitude of little changes, than a momentous event.

Abilities: He's hard to kill. Simple as that. His skin makes kevlar look like tissue paper, and he views heat and atmosphere as luxuries. His body can heal from nearly anything that isn't drastically deadly, but slowly. Cuts and grazes go quickly, but an eye or finger will take weeks, and a limb will take months. If his body is destroyed, it will take a years, or even decades, for him to come back though, especially is there isn't much to work with.

Equipment: Simple things - a hide book almost as old as he is, few bifaces, shaggy robes, a small spear, a basalt axe.

Additional Notes: In short, he's an old, resilient geezer, who's simply trying to make the world a better place, though he's stuck in the past.

This seem reasonable?

Name: Mr. X

Age: 56

Gender: Male

Appearance: Tall, slight balding, Caucasian, blue eyed, slightly pale

Suite: wears contacts that make it look like his eyes are giant pupils, he wears a long brown trench coat with matching gloves and shoes, his face is covered by a black mask, and his clothes don't show any of his skin. He wears a wireless on his right ear that works like a normal phone and with the spooky effect that links directly to the real Mr. X.

Personality: He is a businessman. He'll act nice to achieve his goals and goes behind peoples' backs when they won't work with him.

Abilities: He doesn't age due to technology developed at one of the companies he owns.

Equipment: His workers carry the latest in high tech weaponry while he wears a bullet proof vest and a special mask that masks his voice, acts as a breathing mask, bullet proof, and he always carries a taser.

Additional Notes: He is in possession of several technology corporations, art museums, and weapon manufacturers under the name of John Smith. He has never been convicted of a crime and sends others in his place. He has never been suspected by the police, has a long list of people that he operates through, he has his scientists work in small African countries on natives, the way he has it set up ends up with the natives thinking his men are good people, and he tried to join the Evil Overlords in the crossover war. Unfortunately due to matters that needed his direct attention his appearance in the war was too late to save the Evil Overlords.

Wow, an actual evil mastermind. I'm okay with it, I think. Starbound, any perceived flaws?

Know that the reason he actually hasn't been convicted is because Ial either doesn't care or there's no evidence.

Taco's point is my character, Ial? He's omniscient. Or close enough to it. So any illegal activities your character does, he will inexplicably know about it.

Anyway... Who are the "Evil Overlords"? If you wish to keep that information secret from players, feel free to send me or Taco a PM regarding that. It's just something that's bugging me.

Also, how would we know that the wireless on his ear looks like a normal phone if he's completely masked, thus covering his ears? When you said his clothing covers all of his skin, I would assume the ears would be covered as well.

How much of this information is regarding the actual Mr. X, and how much of it is regarding the person acting as him? Do his "look-alikes" also not age, for example?

How many workers does he have acting in an area at a time? How heavily armed are they? We don't want to give one character control over too much power, after all.

This covered the real Mr. X except the costume which his look a likes wear.

His employees do age normally and he is omniscient about crimes his underlings comment normally due to the spooky effect communications system in their comms. Your right about that, his ears should be covered.

He'll have no more than four or five men with him at a time or with a doppelganger to avoid suspicion. They would carry grenades, ak 47s, sawed off shotguns, pistols, bullet resistant body armor occasionally they will carry grenade launchers or rocket launchers, but those would be stored in the van.

And you sort of sound like a Munchkin. "My character has never been caught absolutely ever, and when you think you have him, it's a copycat." It's setting up your character to be super awesome before they even actually arrived. We had Dr. Awful last time, and you sort of have a very similar idea here.

But, if he's just basically a gang leader, and as long as you don't bullshit your way out of everything, because honestly with the kind of allreaching power he allegedly has that could happen, I honestly see very little actually wrong with your character. Just the way he's written.

He should be a like a modern day scar face. I'm not sure how he could always bullshit his way out of situations. Maybe the first few times, but afterwards he would make enemies with the evil masterminds.

Your character is, in your own words, "in possession of several technology corporations... and weapon manufacturers... He... has a long list of people that he operates through."

This implies your character basically has more political power and clout than, say, the total sum of everyone else's characters combined.

Not to mention the Evil Overlords and crossover war thing...

Basically, the mere act of accepting your character would have far reaching consequences to the already established setting of the RP. It would set him up in a position that would give him far more influence over everything than a player character honestly should have. And having imposters and fallmen and "never being convinced of a crime and never being suspected by the police" despite the fact that he operates wearing a disguise at all times...

Actually, let me stop beating around the bush and just say it.

I'm rejecting your character.

Also, the "Evil Mastermind" name is a bit of a relic, back when the first GM started it and before it got adopted by a new GM. And then another GM. And then another one. Basically, the name is a bit removed from what actually occurs in the RP now.
