I think the Fable article needs to split into three, one to cover each game. Having one page cover 3 games is getting waaay too incoherent and confusing.

I dunno, it looks okay to me. I haven't played the games, but it looks like this could be fine if it's just soft-split into sections for all three games.

Well I have and just reading it is really confusing, especialy since a lot of trope entries don't specify which game(s) they appear in.

That's what the soft split does, it puts a barrier between them.

Okay, that sounds fine. How do we do it?

Use ! as the first line in a code so it would be something like:

Fable 1

tropes

Fable 2

tropes

Fable 3

tropes

Already working on this. Hopefully should have it done by late Sunday night (PST). Anyone else trying to consolidate the tropes under new Headings, please let me know.

I don't think a softsplit makes much sense. Hardsplit would be better considering how little the three games have in common.

If we do hardsplit them (which if anyone wants to do, I fully endorse) just remember to do all the subpages and I would like to say this would a perfect time to Video Game/ namespace them.

And it would also let us turn Main.Fable into a disambig for the game and the genre and such.

I think Fables should be included on the theoretical disambig. A plural is all that stands between a comic and a video game series with very different premises.

I noticed that when Portal and Portal 2 were split that we kept the character page together. I think it would be best to do that for Fable as well, for the sake of Theresa and Reaver.

Eh, but they're the only two characters that are the same where as Portal had a grand total of two characters both in the sequel. Splitting the character pages would make it better organized.

Fables very much belongs on the disambig though.

If we hardsplit it, should we make a series article and move the first game to Fable?

IIRC, there's some tie-in novels and it gives us a place to put Fable: The Lost Journey info. until it can get it's own page.

I think the first Fable should probably share it's page with Fable The Lost Chapters. I'm not sure what to call it though. Maybe we could have the game on Fable and the series page on Fable Series. Hmm...

[up]I think Fable: The Lost Chapters is essentially Fable I by another name. On the Lionhead forum anything to do with Fable I is pretty much refered to as "TLC". If need be, create a Fable The Lost Chapters redirect, but I think people assosciate the first Fable with TLC by default.

[up] It's Fable 1 plus some stuff. We could just use it as the first game page as it's basically replaced the first game.

[up]To be honest, it would seem kind of weird to put the series at Fable Series. If we keep the series title as the "main" sort of place, it'll tie in with Mass Effect and help people who looked up Fable as the entire series get to the place they want.

EDIT: Speaking of Mass Effect, I think it's character sheet provides a solution to the whole Theresa/Reaver thing.

[up] True, that page did Mass Effect 1 so it seems like Video Games.Fable1 for the first game page with Lost Chapters as a redirect seems to be wiki precedent.

[up]I'd go with a roman numeral (similar to Final Fantasy I) to tie in with the rest of the series. But, yeah, that's pretty much what seems to be precedent.

[up] Very good point. Fable I it is then. So, now that we have the names figured out, let's do this.

Well, there ya go then :)

I will say, whilst trying to split them up, some trope examples had what seemed to be Series Wide implications, while others were clearly started with Fable 1 and then just had bullets with additional examples from other games.

[up] That happens in all series. The proper thing is to list those on all pages. The storylines are mostly distinct though and a lot of those are used in different ways in each games.

Anyone know where to get/have a good image of the Fable III cover? Preferably 300px (or more, I can always resize) without all that age rating stuff.

The closest I can find is this. There is no cover without the ratings stuff.
