Would something of a pretty girl with a sinister expression on her face (this comes to mind) be fitting?

Everybody that's female in that anime looks about that attractive though face-wise.

I think. I haven't watched it for years.

Meh, that was just an example. The point is what it LOOKS like on a page image.

I suppose juxtaposing someone pretty looking sinister with someone plain/ugly/anywhere in between looking innocent might be a bit better though.

The only picture I can think of that would express the trope is a clear line between pretty = bad, not pretty = good. If it's not showing both, I think, then it's just going to look like Evil Is Sexy.

Maybe a good looking Libby bullying a less attractive girl?

This one just may do it:

All three are attractive there.

The words above are to be read as if they are narrated by Morgan Freeman.

[up] The third is... relatively plain. At least by fictional standards of beauty. Most guys would probably find the third as attractive if not more, but she still has the traits the media tends to label less than pretty.

We should still keep looking, of course, but that is one to fall back on if we do not find anything better.

I don't think Western media really puts the first as relatively attractive either.

The unfortunate problem is the art style is quite generic. That girl looks no less pretty than the other two, but perhaps not as done up.

Yeah, all three look equally attractive to me. Would indeed make a nice The Libby picture.

I doubt we'll find anything for this one that isn't just Evil Is Sexy.

Let me officially state my support for the original picture then.

Sorry, does that mess up the entire "three people thought it was a bad picture, and no one said otherwise" formula? Because I think it gets the point across just fine, thanks.

I'll be back after me and my two friends get finished vaping all the unnecessary anime-based illustrations.

Being in a Japanese-produced work is not enough of a difference to warrant its own trope.

Could you explain why you think it's an illustrative picture?

...first of all, that is a really damn huge amount of images, and i'm not sure what you mean by "unnecessary" if it's JAAFAC, sure, go ahead and take it off, but otherwise...

Has anyone thought of a way to show this that isn't The Libby or Evil Is Sexy?

A conventionally beautiful person doing something terrible.

Like a picture of Miss America knocking a little old lady of a cliff, who then begins to complain about a broken hip until she slowly dies in agonizing pain as an open wound get's infected with a suitably horrific disease.

... god, I'm morbid as fuck.

[up] [up]What is the problem with a image showing The Libby? Most, if not all Libbys are examples of Beauty Is Bad.

Yeah, there could be a pretty girl who uses her beauty on behalf of the less pretty ones, rather than using it for self-glorification like The Libby does. (Alternatively, it could be a pretty girl who uses her beauty to help dethrone The Libby. No, no examples come to mind about how, but given how in the adult world beauty is used for marketing, it sounds possible.)

[up] ??? I am not sure what you want to say. Are you saying a pretty girl using her look to dethrone the Libby is a case of Beautyis Bad?

Beauty Is Bad doesn't mean that all beautiful people in a work are bad (that is even stated in the Tropr description), considering the looks of nearly all Hollywood acters, that would result in a world populated by only bad people.

Most likly the good people are Hollywood Homely and Cool Loser, contrasted with the good looking popular bad people. This makes is easy to the audience to identify with the underdog protagonist.

I say the picture be moved off the page until we come up with a better one, because this is just Unfortunate Implications waiting to happen (implying that Mo'Nique is ugly because she is fat, for starters).
