Yeah, I find this trope a bit confusing. I mean, even the header above the examples on the main page says "[e]xamples of characters who exemplify particular facial hairstyles" so it seems to me that the trope is supposed to be about facial hair.
Then again, there is that one paragraph near the end that talks about what kinds of women's hairstyles are considered good or bad.
This title has brought 10,220 people to the wiki from non-search engine links since 20th FEB '09.
I am not totally sure what to do here, but maybe we should keep Good Hair, Evil Hair as the name of a Super-Trope and keep all but the last paragraph of the description of the current Good Hair, Evil Hair trope, but rename it so it is specifically about beards. I guess another possibility would be to keep the trope as is and just move the female examples to another trope given that they have different standards.

I think Bald of Evil is something different.

Fight smart, not fair.Well, evil women usually have Power Hair.
But it isn't as clear cut. Women with Power Hair are split about 50-50 in alignment. Power Hair isn't evil. It's just strong. Women don't really have Good Hair, Evil Hair. There are very few styles that can judge a woman's alignment on style alone.

Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickThere's also few male styles that don't involve facial hair that are attached to one side. The only one I can think of is Devil Horns style, which no one really wears.
Fight smart, not fair. And even that tends to be associated with a goatee.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickClocking this one.
I hear evil goatees being lampshaded all the time in fiction. Do you think that would be a possible subtrope?

I think it would be a possible subtrope. Take it to YKTTW.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickActually, all this reminds me about the Evil Twins Have Goatees YKTTW I was planning to make. A goatee-specific subtrope might overlap with that a bit.
Aren't most examples of Beard of Evil already goatees?
Speaking words of fandom: let it squee, let it squee.^ Yep. 90% of the time the "evil beard" is a goatee.
An Ear Worm is like a Rickroll: It is never going to give you up.
So, I read the article. The picture has beards, the description has beards, but the examples are more than beards. They have long hair, curly hair, mullets, etc. Is this actually necessary?
Current fangirl target: Dunno, but most likely Danny Jacob.
