True. In the first half, IIRC his main role is to make Ichigo learn about environmental stuff so she can impress him. Maybe showing him do more of that independent of her, and some actual foreshadowing of the fact that he has strong rage issues that lead to Deep Blue, and their relationship will feel less one-note.
How much of that was because of Tom Felton? Also, the Harry comparison is weird because fan perception of him is all over the place.
‘My ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.’If it has a adaptation and the character is an asshole in the source it's almost always because of whoever is acting them.
I absolutely cannot help but adore handsome 2D boysGot some sad news. Reports are coming in that the manga's illustrator, Mia Ikumi, died on March 7.
May she rest in peace.

He/His/Him. No matter who you are, always Be Yourself.First episode is out, and while I don't know what the original manga was like, but this is very much not just the anime with a new coat of paint. At least so far. Which I approve of. Definitely curious as to what's going on with Minto, and Masaya has a bit of depth to him already. Some awkwardness with Ichigo getting in a vehicle with some strange men that could've been smoothed over better, but I suppose it was inevitable. Decent start overall.
Your preferences are not everyone else's preferences.Maybe the western girls hated Masaya because he didnt show this depth in the original anime.
EDIT: I'm surprised Sterok. You didnt mention Ichigo was like I WANNA FALL IN LOVE and then falls in love with literally the first guy she sees. I would see that as a a major minus.

Discord: Waido X 255#1372 If you cant contact me on TV Tropes do it here.I wonder if it's my imagination by Masaya seems to have more chemistry with Ichigo in this first episode. Also despite the changes I actually was pretty down with everything. Ichigo not having 24 hours of acting like a cat before realizing what was up with her body was a bit of a miss but I couldn't be mad when the rest of the episode was just so delightfully early 2000s funny. Looking forward to seeing more.
Also I feel they're more blatant about the foreshadowing with Masaya

I absolutely cannot help but adore handsome 2D boysI cant believe Crunchyroll included a reference to "Mew Mew Style, Mew Mew Grace, Mew Mew power in your face!"
Discord: Waido X 255#1372 If you cant contact me on TV Tropes do it here.Wasn't sure if I was remembering the original at first, but another change is that Ichigo is in high school instead of middle school. Wonder if there's a particular reason most of the cast is aged up.

Discord: Waido X 255#1372 If you cant contact me on TV Tropes do it here. This is a shoujo, being at least a little creepy is kind of the charm. That's why Quiche X Ichigo was the most popular ship lol.
I absolutely cannot help but adore handsome 2D boysWell that and Draco in Leather Pants and Evil Is Cool.
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."2. You can really tell this is a two decade old shoujo what with how Shirogane is being handled. Seeing how he's one of the good guys his character really should've gone through a revamp. Ichigo not having a proper reason to work at the cafe always bugged me, and it wasn't really fixed here. So was Lettuce unable to control her powers, or was she trying to drown her "friends"? I forgot how she was always lowkey terrifying. No time for filler I see. I sure hope this isn't a twelve episode affair and there's some breathing room once the whole team is assembled.
Your preferences are not everyone else's preferences.I probably shouldn't be as amused by Ryo's antics as I am. Because I remembered him being a weirdo but he was also always my favourite of the boys so whenever he acts unbelievably shady I just start letting out an inhuman cackle
the pacing feels much more brisk this episode I'll admit, but it's not bad enough to ruin the episode for me. Same with the moments of more stilted animation but honestly if I can deal with delicious party every week this much is fine. I am disappointed in Mint's Henshin though, while I'm happy they're not carbon copies of their old ones like with sailor moon crystal, I can't shake off the slight disappointment that she just strikes a pose and her adornments snap on her rather than her old Henshin's much more involved dancing

I absolutely cannot help but adore handsome 2D boysNice to know I’m not the only one disappointed in Mint’s transformation sequence.
Henshins have always been a big part of the appeal for me in magical girl shows so I can't help but always feel a bit critical of them (my hopes are especially high for this one because I only like half of the ones in the latest precure).
On the positives I disliked every other Henshin from the original so they can only go up from here in my eyes lol
I absolutely cannot help but adore handsome 2D boysSince Tokyo Mew Mew New has some changes from the original (primarily involving story sequence), should it get its own page?
I think so yes.

"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."I like that they kept Bu Lings name Chinese instead Of the Foodification everyone else got.
Discord: Waido X 255#1372 If you cant contact me on TV Tropes do it here.4. Time to take a break from the straight people. Mint hasn't gotten a lot of focus, but she's been the star of the show purely because she's the biggest deviation from the original. Still a jerk, but far more focused on the mission due to joining earlier. Good to see her open up a bit and go absolute gaga over Zakuro. Right now I just want to see more of what's going on with her. And not Ichigo/Ryo since that bit with them felt forced with absolutely no chemistry. Just do the wholesome and boring Aoyama contrasted with the skeevy and exciting Kisch please. Feels more meaningful. Bu-Ling has also gotten no respect. Still the joke character we know nothing about. Or Zakuro, but at least she's supposed to be a distant and mysterious presence right now.
Your preferences are not everyone else's preferences. Is the 12 episodes planning to cover the entire manga as man that would be rushed?
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."We don't know, I saw a tweet indicating that they don't think that would be the case but I straight up don't see HOW they could even achieve that even discounting the filler for the original anime.
I absolutely cannot help but adore handsome 2D boysI think there's going to be a season 2 later.
Just give him a personality. Do that and something with them dating, and his existence in the first half is justified. It is surprisingly rare for magical girls in this day and age to actually be dating someone, so I actually want the reboot to lean into that. Not to the point where the others get ignored ala Sailor Moon Crystal of course, but it's something with potential.
