I've edited my post in Hilbert Inn with a typically blunt question - I'm tired and Wolf's had the better part of two standard drinks so I think that fits.

Do page breaks just lie in wait ready to catch me or what?!?

Sleep has been out of whack lately and I never get real breaks from schoolwork, but things are coming together enough that I hope to find some posting time within the next few days.

Take some melatonin gummies. Those can do some wonders, mate.

I might just try those, but not tonight... got work due. :\

Posts incoming Sunday or Monday, depending on how certain things break.

Don't get me wrong, I'd love to be writing here. Just a bunch of external stuff that's got my mood all in a funk and making it close to impossible. It'll pass soon enough. That sleep schedule business hasn't quite been sorted out, and I'm certain it's been a primary driver.

Oh. Well, hope it resolves soon then.

Will De Regio: Writer's block again? If it would help, I'm already planning for Ethani to irritably bring the conversation back to the present swine-problem in the next post, I can edit her into doing that in the current one. (Also, not to pile on the Fun, but don't forget Palindromee's character now in the Lobby.)

Let me know if there's anything I can do to make interaction easier.

Hey, I just realized I've been on this site for a decade now, as of the 25th of last month. I was 17, the same age that Joseph seems to be perpetually stuck in (though I initially conceived of him when I was a few years younger). I've never been a part of any online community for so long.

If you type your username in the "Find Posts by Troper" box, you can click back to find your earliest posts. Not all that much has changed, which brings about some complicated feelings. I don't know if having access to the unaltered history of what I did ten years ago is a great thing for me personally. It's interesting, but it stirs up melancholy like nothing else. Traditional forums have been dwindling in popularity for some time now, but it's easy to settle into a new normal until you look back at a pretty clear picture of how things were. I feel like an old man grumbling about the good ol' days, but I really struggle to see the value in bite-sized interactions you get with these untethered, algorithm driven, endless scrolling social media sites, and it saddens me greatly to see so much of the online populace shift there.

I didn't join the CDTs until June. Maybe I'll reflect more then. I will say, in trying to find some old character interaction info, I stumbled across some posts here in the discussion thread from just after the conclusion of Archipelago, which involved discussion of how things went with the thread, and how helpful the CDTs have been for us in general. How characters have changed and all that goodness. I'd like if we could have more discussions like those— real, engaging stuff.


Anyway, posted for Henry. I'll get to David and Joseph later on, but it's all still looking pretty busy for the next week and I'm still not entirely together. Sleep is doing okay at least, but there's some academic stuff that's the other driver of my mood, and it isn't so easy to correct.

Hey, uh, so posting is going to be...very slow. I'll still respond to the best of my ability, but this program I'm in (Year Up) started and I go to classes Monday so I'm going to have to devote a lot of time to it.

Two midterms tomorrow, wish me luck. Not so worried about one of them, but I always stand to be proven wrong.

After that, I've got some other schoolwork due Friday and Saturday respectively, so should be able to post beyond then, and maybe even before and between then. Then a lovely reprieve, I hope.

In the meantime, here's◊ an appropriately sad Davey.

Edit: well, on the plus side, my previous midterm did not go as badly as it felt.

On the minus side, one I had today was unequivocally dreadful. I'm talking a full bore waking academic nightmare. This instructor is great at crafting difficult problems, not so great at teaching.

On the neutral side, there was a lot of commiserating with my fellow classmates, so maybe we all tanked it.

Anyway... see you in a few days.

Finally managed to get around to posting in Hilbert Inn - it's been pretty full-on, here, since my sister's death. My kids and I are still living at her house - the "temporary until we find a place" thing that's been "temporary" for over a year, now - but we'll be having to move soon as the house will be sold. In the meantime, the goat, dog, cats, turtles, lizards and birds all have to be fed and looked after and the house/property kept in good shape - and I've been needing to retreat into reading, watching animes etc with my kids and Refereeing a Cyberpunk game to just get away from Real Life for a while.

Somehow managed to emerge long enough to write something here.

Well, I've had worse, and unless I'm terribly mistaken, I do believe I've made it into my little break. Masterofchaos, Pyxo, do please kick in my door if I haven't posted by the end of tomorrow.
