Ever wanted to make really bad music? Well now's your chance!

The idea of this thread is simple: each of the participants will create, record and upload a album of deliberately godawful music. Haven't really got much to say on the idea apart from that, so questions are welcome, and will likely be necessary given how uninspired this OP is.

I'll add some godawful production.

This will—for obvious reasons—take a backseat to my Tromufi project.

Being someone with no rhythm, I can add some godawful drumming...

I'll do some godawful VST noodling!

So, how do we do this? Are we making one album as a group, or making an album each (with some collaborations, I imagine)? Both, perhaps?

Want a crappy guest guitar solo? I am so there.

Actually, I could do all the crappy guitar tracking. And remember, whoever's in charge of mastering, don't forget to use tons of compression. And hard-limit it below 0db, so it clips but still isn't loud enough.

I'll get involved in this, somehow. See if can't wring the worst guitar tone possible from my shiny new POD Pro. Trebles to max, bass, mid and noisegate to 0, add some pointless effects, BOOM! Instant ear rape.

I hereby declare the official project BPM to be 128. I bet no one cares if you won't adhere to it though.

Here's my first offering. Loop the shit out of this. You all like the Amen and cheesy filters, right?

I also propose some rules:

• If you work on something for more than half an hour fifteen minutes, don't post it.
• Final render must be in 16 kbps MP 3 because it sounds ghetto.
• Official project adjective is "ghetto".

I can't deal with that 15-minute rule, because then I can't record an epic hour-long closer track. The other rules are pretty ghetto, though.

Alright, let's get going with the first "song". Should be relatively easy; you guys just create and upload whatever you want (as long as it's not too good), I'll see if I can make a track with them while adding my own various contributions.

I have a broken guitar, a broken bass and a cheap guitar to USB cable, so I can help if you want.

I'll add you to the list now. Looking forward to seeing what everyone will come up with.

I'm currently working on bits of the first "song". Anyone want to hear what I've done so far?

Also, does anyone have any particular ideas for crazy shit we can put in the album? And a name for the album and "artist"?

Mind if I fuck with some samples in FL Studio and completely demolish them in Audacity? Kinda like what I do now, except deliberately bad instead of unintentionally crappy.

EDIT: Solo #1, "Quantization Is For Suckers". 128 BPM, as requested (not that you can tell anyway). With all the gain and hard-limiting, I didn't think recompressing it would have made any difference.

Good luck finding something that sounds good against all those augmented scales.
