We Are All Pokemon Trainers Discussion

Summer isn't a trainer, she's a Ranger.

There are several Rangers in the bracket just to make sure that every game is represented. I don't think many of them win their first match, but some of them do (I think a couple were facing Kimono Girls, for example).

I don't see how they would fight, though, considering they never raised any Pokemon.

For the Danny vs Bugsy battle, my money's on the latter.

I thought it would be something like what Luke does with Keldeo.

So they summon them to fight?

More like what happens with walking Pokemon. They just run forward when directed into battle.

For Winona's battle, Winona would win.

But they don't have any Pokemon other than their partner (In Summer's case a Staraptor).

I'm still going to need a little convincing that Winona could beat Wake, though.

That Altaria of hers is very difficult to beat. All it needs is one Dragon Dance and it completely slaughters everything. Anyone who is ill-prepared against a Dragon Type is doomed to fail. Seeing as Crasher Wake doesn't have an ice type available, he's not going to have much of a chance.

of course, I can't remember most of what they both have on their teams, nor their battle style, so eh.

Wake's Gyarados, Floatzel, and Ludicolo have Ice-type moves, but his Quagsire isn't doing him many favours against Flying-types (although, it does have Stone Edge) and his Ludicolo probably wouldn't get able to get a shot off either.

The ones between two Gym Leaders are the hardest to decide.

How about this then; Crasher Wake is the fourth Gym Leader chronologically. Winona is the sixth. Winona surpasses Wake based on rank.

I'm going by Platinum. Wake is fifth there. Not equal, but less of a gap.

I think the strongest case for Winona at this point is her Dragonite with Thunder.

I was thinking Erika would win hers, but I didn't want to decide that unilaterally.

Brycen vs. Misty is pretty hard to call, but I'm leaning towards Misty.

I think I'll go with Misty too, for reasons I'm keeping to myself.

Misty has a more prominent role in a more popular media. Misty wins against Brycen.

I would argue that Brycen is the seventh gym leader you fight and that Misty is the second, but whatever.
