every good hero needs a nemesis, so seeing as some of my characters are becoming superheroes...

Name: Saffron "Saffy" Favra, aka yellow bandit

Age: 20

Ethnicity: Caucasian/japanese

Appearance: Short, fit but not particularly muscular build. Short, straight black/brown hair in a short bob. Dark brown eyes. Everyday wear is a loose yellow tank top with a gold heart design on the front, a long yellow scarf, black trousers and dark yellow heeled boots. As the yellow bandit, she wears a black catsuit with a yellow sleeveless leotard and a black and yellow hood. On top of this is a yellow utility+pokeball belt, yellow gloves, long yellow boots and a yellow domino mask.

Personality: Saffy is an excitable adrenaline junkie. She pursues villainy for the thrill of it, and also to be with her twin, whom she loves very much. She is fine with damaging property but is reluctant to seriously harm other people and property in the name of furthering her goals. She is also a Large Ham and is often very over the top about things. When not committing crimes, she is quite bubbly and extraverted. She is a street performer and does parlor tricks with auric construct juggling clubs and a few more daredevilish acts. She also still enjoys various twin antics.

Hometown: Lilycove city

Backstory: Saffy was born in Lilycove city with her twin, Sapphy. At a young age they discovered they had twin telepathy. They could communicate in their heads at a distance, but telepathic individuals and psychic types can hear their mental conversations. She always loved to perform in front of others, and would often rope her sister into them. As teenagers, they learned how to use their auric construct abilities to turn sticks into juggling clubs, and later the more offensive baseball bat. At first they just shoplifted chocolate from stores, but their plans became more ambitious as time went on. Saffy discovered the thrill of breaking into someone's house and getting out before they were caught. For her, there was just nothing like it, and it was profitable! They got a reputation as mysterious hooligans who no-one quite knew the identity of. Sapphy made sure they always covered their tracks so they never got into too much trouble. They left Hoenn a few years ago to travel the world, but are now returning, with revamped costumes, proper names and are ready to start their biggest crime spree yet. They made a base out of a medium sized warehouse they inherited from their grandfather. It's mostly open space, but has a computer room, miniature lab and cell for prisoners.

Appearance: Same hair, eyes and build as Saffy. For everyday wear she wears a loose blue sweater with a long blue scarf, navy trousers and blue sneakers. Blue bandit outfit is the same as yellow bandit, but replace every yellow with blue.

Personality: Sapphy is a quiet schemer, the mastermind of the duo. She enjoys the satisfaction of a thought out plan coming together, but also enjoys the challenge of adapting to unexpected developments. She aims to become an infamous master thief one day, no matter what it takes. She is also somewhat of an ameteur mad scientist who spends a lot of free time working on projects in the lab. She is Saffy’s partner in street performing and enjoys the popularity it brings. She performs tricks that require more finessing and practice on her construct.

Hometown Lilycove city

Backstory: Sapphy grew up introverted and shy, and loved to produce elaborate schemes on how to do various things. Through spending more time honing her abilities, she first realised their auric construct abilities and helped Saffy learn how to create the baseball bat auric construct. Saffy helped her come out of her shell and make friends. She is making plans for a crime spree that will make them infamous beyond their wildest dreams, and is looking forward to the challenge. In the meantime, she is working on improving their base and various personal lab projects.

So for the past several months my motivation to create characters for WAAPT specifically was pretty much dead. So when I got a spark of inspiration for one I felt like I had to kinda jump on it. Time for "spot the MCU reference":

Name: Olivia Hallow, AKA "Baba Yaga"

Age: About 1200 (vampirism, yo), looks about 25

Gender: Female

Ethnicity: Mixed race (black/white)

Appearance: semi-dark skin, wavy purple hair with a white streak, a bit lanky, red eyes, wears all white in either a casual outfit or her "Baba Yaga" costume, which is basically a specialized white suit and mask with a cloak that looks like this◊ but all white.

Organizational Ties: None but did have a brief stint with Interpol

Region Of Origin: Galar (note: this will not be relevant until Sword And Shield come out)

Backstory: Olivia was born with very... Unusual powers, namely powerful Obscura ones that gave her the gift of becoming intangible at will. However, her powers came at a cost - her physical form and powers grow more unstable over time, and the only cure is to drain the Aura of others. Her solution is to exclusively prey on assholes, wild Pokemon, and wild Pokemon who are assholes. Her "Baba Yaga" alter ego is largely a vehicle for vigilantism, though in the past she was employed by Interpol as a special operative. She also has a long tangled history with the Macrauls, a few of whom she has eaten, and she is on Sylvestra's shit list.

Personality wise she's a bit of a "creepy girl" but also cocky and snarky in a way that make her more charismatic than that would imply. However there are also moments of being unhinged...

Bio: Olivia's oldest, grumpiest companion. Doesn't like talking about her past life.

I am incredibly regretful to inform you all that I shall be committing to a massive undertaking over the course of the next 5 months. I intend to master the SAT as well as four AP courses, so as to be well set up for college. However, to do so, I will be forced to cut down on my availability. I will only be on the Discord chat twice a day at best, and for a very short time at that. I shall only be able to post once a day, also at best. I won't even have the Discord application on my phone. This regime begins Monday. This will mean, if the Macraul raid goes beyond Sunday, I will probably hold it up. Apologies. Don't get me wrong, WAAPT holds much value to me. The way I see it, if I do this now, I'll be able to not do a part time job in college, which will grant me more time rping then than I lose now. It pains me to so cut my time with you all a mere month after I join. I hope to compensate for my absence with even more time and presence later.

So it's a concept that's been thrown around for honestly a while now but comments by me really kicked discussion of it into high gear today, and that is:

A magical girl arc.

And I may have implicitly volunteered to run the arc.

So now I'm explicitly volunteering to do so.

Which will probably boil down to "everybody involved is magical girls, there's a Glitch that can assimilate people, magical girls punch glitch with the power of friendship, swords, guns, and high explosives out of people, find it, and punch it back into the hole from whence it came." Standard magical girl stuff. No Madoka twists where everybody dies at the end.

I figure a group DM(/new subplot channel, if it gets big enough) would be better for discussing the various particular details.

So, initial chat interest has been pretty strong but I suppose a formal proposal of sideplot and declaration of interest would be good.

She usually wears either some form of fancy suit or dress, and as a magical girl her outfit is styled after a weird combination of a Mega Gardevoir and a Roserade, tessellated with black and purple diamonds, and with red, teal, and black ribbons as accessories.
• Organizational Ties: None personally, though her father has ties to Interpol
• Region of Origin: Technically born in Galar, but grew up in Sinnoh and hasn’t been back. and won’t go back until SwSh drops
• Bio: Born to a Pokemon researcher and a mid-level exec at a multinational company, Scathach was born in Galar before work forced her parents to move to Sinnoh, where she grew up. She's never been super into league challenges though she does enjoy battling with her pokemon. A wanderer, she's spent the past couple years as a freelance wildlife and landscape photographer. A few months back, she ran across a Mismagius claiming to need her help to stop a calamity that could doom the world, and that she'd give Scathach a bit of her power to help her accomplish it. Not really trusting the Mismagius but also not turning down the opportunity to become a magical girl, she set off, her task clear: Stop Tamamo-no-Mae.

• Personality: A Mismagius claiming to be the spirit of the onmyoji Abe-no-Seimei, she serves as both one of Scathach’s pokemon and her warlock patron magical girl contract holder. Her reports of her life are occasionally spotty and contradictory, but that can just be attributed to being a ghost for the last 600 years. Somewhat more sinisterly, Seimei seems to almost flicker with suspiciously-Glitchy static when nobody’s looking directly at her...

Species: Roserade

• Nickname: Terpsichore
• Gender: Genderfluid, they/them
• Ability: Technician
• Personality: A dancer at heart, Terpsichore wants nothing more than to become world famous on the contest stage… despite Scathach’s complete lack of interest in contests. Nevertheless, Terpsichore is good friends with Scathach and the rest of her team, and is unwilling to leave them, even if it leaves her dreams out of reach.

Species: Staraptor

• Nickname: Connla
• Gender: Male
• Ability: Reckless
• Personality: Scathach’s starter, he thinks he’s hot shit, but… really isn’t. He usually ends up getting into trouble that Scathach needs to bail him out of. He's fiercely protective of Scathach but is really bad at reading the room and is notoriously bad at actually spotting threats.

Species: Gardevoir (Shiny)

• Nickname: Thalia
• Gender: F
• Ability: Trace
• Personality: A gentle soul who abhors violence but is willing to do what is necessary to protect her friends, she doesn’t trust Semei in the slightest. A former Shadow, she was given to Scathach for rehabilitation after her original trainer couldn’t be located. Was rather Blood Knightey even before being Shadowed, she now regrets her previous attitudes and actions and has since become a priest of Arceus.

I think I could try and have someone in this, but question: How were you thinking this would go as far as Pokemon involvement?

I was not imagining the magical girl power ups to be so powerful as to render pokemon useless, wannabe world-devouring glitches are just less finnicky about not attacking trainers so the trainers themselves should probably be somewhat less comparatively squishy. And more firepower is always good.
