I haven't seen any of those either. Do you have to do anything to get them?

I mean, I had Nina and Anna paired up as my first team but saw nothing out of the ordinary.

You need to win with either a tag bound combo, a tag throw, or launch with your point character, swap out, and finish a juggle with the swapped in character.

There are a few special intros, but it's strictly dialogue. Jinpachi complains that he's paired up with someone from his family, for example.

I am clearly a master of Tekken as I have figured out that pressing the two punch buttons + tag brings in your partner.

[up] I appreciate the help but t I had Googled that and gotten a lot of info about you need to do a "bound" attack and I have no idea what that is.

I've done a few tag grapples/throws but completely by accident. No idea what buttons or conditions get those to happen.

Is there only one special win pose per team? I mean, I guess there are two depending on which member of the team was in the lead when you won. Honestly, I liked Nina's variation of the Williams' winning. Anna doing her thing and then Nina just kicks her over.

For an easy Tag throw press 3/Right Punch/Triangle on PS 3 + the tag button, or 5/the right control stick on PS 3.

Every character in the game otherwise has several partner specific ones. I don't play the Williams but I can guarantee you they both have one that works with their sister. Just mess around with different throws while holding down the Tag button and you'll find them.

Tag bounds are a bit more complicated. Every character has several moves that "Bound" the enemy - basically, they do this awkward looking flop animation that lets you follow up with juggle combos. There's an icon besides moves that initiate a Bound. The moment you perform a Bound move, press down the tag button, and you'll hear a godlike sound effect and will briefly control your partner character to perform a single string. They'll glow white while this is happening, but if you're not feeling confident about what to do you can just keep holding down the tag button and they'll perform a decent string on their own. After they stop glowing, you can follow up. It's kind of the core attribute of what makes Tag 2 its own game but takes a lot of practice to master, and is half of why a lot of people just skipped out on it.

Starting out, if you just want to see cool special animations, I would learn Nina and Anna's special tag throw and just try and beat people with that. If you're really feeling the game you can practice Tag bounds, too.

I think I did their tag combo by accident. They hit the guy a bunch and finished off with a double heel grind on the opponent on the ground. This was in Practice mode where I was just hitting everything.

Looking it up: hcf, DB+2+3~5 - 1+2 - 3+4 - 2+3"

I would imagine "hcf" means "half circle forward" which I have no idea what that entails.

But really, trying to pull this stuff off in a real fight is impossible for me and keeps making me lose.Maybe if I got better at it but right now it's just awkward and making me fuck up my usual strategies. I'll try to keep at it though. Thanks for the help.

My main team though isn't actually Anna and Nina, though. it's Anna and Devil Jin. Tekken 3 nostalgia, I guess. Ironic considering Anna is often paired with Kazuya in this.

That's their tag throw. Those are easy - if you're looking for it specifically, just try every throw they have, while holding down the tag button. All that complicated notation isn't necessary.

[up][up][up] Well...I dunno what I've been doing. The throw I thought I was doing was when one of the sisters holds the opponent down and the other runs in and kicks them. I thought that was their team grapple.

I'm all confused.

I'll go se what I've been doing wrong.

i still don't know what quarter circle forward or half circle forward means.

Both are. There's more than one per pair, usually. One is initiated by Nina and the other by Anna. Some characters even have multiple per. King has both his Irish Whip into a Clothesline that he can tag Armor King with, and and a toss to a running power bomb to the same character.

What I really fucking hate is this ranking system and keeping track of every win and loss. I am doing much better than in T6 but the point is, losing is dispiriting and this game will never, ever let me forget it. Furthermore, I'm okay with being bad because I could lose ten billion times and have it not mean a thing. But not anymore. I have to win because I have to tank my rank go up and win items.

It fucking sucks. Just had a huge string of losses, missing out on D. Jin getting promoted and generally just making me realize I'm bad at these games and wishing I didn't have to trudge through this Ghost Battle shit so I can unlock items.

But I mean, who DOESN'T love to be constantly reminded of their failures?

OMG dude quit worrying about winning and how good you are and just have fun. Play to learn, get better, and have fun, don't sweat ranks so much. I've gotten demoted before and perfected and juggle 2-combo KO'd and all sorts of nonsense but as long as I'm still enjoying myself, it's cool.

What does Kazuya think of Jin? I know he wants to kill his son like his dad but what reasons does he hate him for?

I understand why he wants to kill & hates Heihachi but what about his son pisses him off aside from the fact he's going up against him?

Two answers:

1) He just hates everybody;

2) The whole Jin is against him thing.

[up][up][up] Yeah, sorry. I was just in a lousy mood earlier.

[up][up] Kazuya is evil and thus all he cares about or wants is DA POWER. He needs that power from Jin for reasons.

As i recall, something was said about the Devil splitting off from him and going to Jin which means Kazuya is weaker now than he used to be.

Or something. Don't ask me how genes fit into this.

You're correct on that first sentence. When Kazuya was thrown into that volcano by Heihachi at the end of the second game and when Jun gave birth to Jin, the Devil Gene tried to take a hold of Jun's son, but Jun herself fought it off. The Devil Gene only manifested itself into Jin during the four-year time gap between Ogre attacking Jun and the King of Iron Fist Tournament 3, hence Jin's tattoo.

As to how it's related to genetics, well, this is where it isn't. Refer to the following paragraphs.

Back when T5 came out, with it's final boss being Heihachi's father Jinpachi, and what the former said in his, yet to be established as canon at the time, story mode ("Devil's blood or no Devil's blood, you cannot defeat me...), it was assumed Jinpachi had the Devil Gene, and it just skipped Heihachi's generation. Devil Jin's ending in the same game added to that assumption, based on how Devil Jin changed physical appearance after sucking up Jinpachi's corpse.

Now then, in 6's Scenario Campaign, if you pit Devil Jin against Azazel, refer to this dialogue:

Azazel: Indeed, I am Azazel, Rectifier of All Things. You, my shadow, have done well.

Devil Jin: It's a shame you feel that way, because I am going to end your existence.

Azazel: Fool You are no more than a puppet. How dare you turn against your own creator'''?

Devil Jin: Your words mean nothing. Yes, the source of our power is the same, but I am your puppet no longer. I will defeat you and gain absolute power over the world! Come, Azazel, tumble into the abyss!

Add that in with what Harada said on Twitter about the fact the Devil Gene didn't come from Jinpachi, yet mentioning Heihachi does know. Fully explained that in 7, it came from Kazumi Hachijo, whose union with Heihachi gave Kazuya the Devil Gene.

All we need now is an eight game to explain how the Hachijo family and Azazel are connected, as well as how Kazuya's sperm ended up in Jun.

Is there only one special win pose per team? I mean, I guess there are two depending on which member of the team was in the lead when you won.

Each character has some they like, really like, dislike and really dislike. Aside from affecting the rage arts you can get special and story driven tag win poses, hit LP after winning with a tag finish and you'll get pretty much all the best ones, hitting nothing picks a tag win at random. Then hit other buttons to see the rest. Jun/Jin, Asuka/Leo (who get along really well according to the guides) or Michelle/Julia (mother/adoptive daughter) are just some of the many combinations you can play with for unique scenes.

[up][up] So...how does a "gene" leave a corpse and try to infect a fetus and then get fought off by a pregnant mother only to return and infect the boy years later?

How does this split the clearly mystical power Kazuya has?

[up] Thank you, I'll be sure to try that.

I'm guessing the weakening of Kazuya's Devil Gene powers only happened when G Corporation successfully revived him. Regardless, the Devil Gene only went after Jin because he had Kazuya's blood.

As to how Jun knew about the Devil Gene attempting to take over Jin, I'm guessing it was succeeding at first when Jin was a child, then Jun delayed it. The tattoo was basically the Devil Gene fully implanting itself into the teenage Jin without a fuss.

Hey, I got triple-perfected by an Alisa player in Tag 2 once. I immediately rematched and it went to 3 rounds to 2 afterwards, NBD.

Regarding loss records, you can change the display in Tag 2 to show Wins/Losses (default), Wins, Matches Played, or nothing.

I'm a little worried about the tag line, "What's your next move?" Does that mean instead of actually playing we watch the fight progress and select which move to do at certain points?
