It would be interesting to get a Old Batman movie with Batfleck and a Young Batman movie with Battinson.

Something Affleck said always stuck with me, that he focused mostly on playing Bruce Wayne because Batman is more of a construct of the director: costume, vehicles, sound design, stuntmen, etc. Most Batman movies have been about 50/50 Batman/Bruce at best, it would be interesting if this film went more 75/25, as most Batman stories are pretty light on Bruce Wayne. In that sense it almost doesn't matter who they cast, because you can put almost anyone in the costume.

I thought Batman: The Telltale Series was one of the more interesting takes on Batman, primarily because it focused much more heavily on the Bruce side of the character.

Seems about the appropriate kind of response for someone who's under serious consideration for the role.

The plot thickens...?

Not really? Most actors avoid commenting on these things until it's a done deal.

It is completely understandable that Pattinson would want to discuss the allegedly awesome movie he is currently doing press for, instead of being unable to answer tedious and repetitive questions about a movie which nobody knows anything about other than Reeves and his producers.

Last I heard about Ezra Miller, he had gotten Grant Morrison to help write a Flash script and he was pretty dedicated to getting one made, so I think he'll probably re-up. Ray Fisher, on the other hand, I'm not so sure about. There has been zero progress on any sort of Cyborg movie and probably never will be. Which means Cyborg's next appearance would be in the next Justice League film, which may or may not even be made, what with the financial failure of the first.

Hey, remember how we were getting a New Gods movie from A Wrinkle in Time's Ava DuVernay?

And how Tom King wrote an ass-kicking 12-issue series on Mister Miracle?

Tom King is co-writing the New Gods movie with Ava DuVernay!

Nice. I like Tom King, as long as stays away from Wally West.

King's interpretation of the New Gods, I think, is second only to Grant Morrison's. (Well, the list goes: Jack Kirby, Grant Morrison, then Tom King.) Morrison portrayed them as symbolizing abstract concepts, while King played around with that by subverting those concepts.

The Batman will be filming in London this Fall.

So...if we're getting word about when and where they'll be filming, does that mean we should be getting a cast announcement soonish?

Bump.

Change of plans.

Essentially:

  • Robert Pattinson and Nicholas Hoult are screen testing, aka they're trying out the Batsuit.
  • Production starts in Q1 2020.

So it's down to either Edward Cullen or Nux/Beast. I could live with that though I'd rather they go for a less established actor.

I'd prefer Robert Pattinson — from what I've seen, he's a damn good actor in films outside of Twilight, while Nicolous Hoult is good, but tends more toward the "weird" roles.

Ooh, Pattinson has Batman and Hoult as the Riddler.

Matthew Vaughn's Man of Steel 2 isn't happening anymore.

And Vaughn even shared what he wanted to do:

"Vaughn revealed that the first film in the proposed trilogy was meant to take place almost entirely on Krypton, and focus on Jor-El and the impending explosion of Krypton. Though the alien planet would still face destruction, Vaughn and Millar’s take would have the event take place much later in the timeline, allowing Superman to grow up on his home planet and gradually become familiar with Earth, maturing into an adult before having to reckon with his loyalty to both planets."

How would that even be Man of Steel 2 if it would immediately change everything about Man of Steel?

Can no one just give us a good Superman movie?

[up][up][up]What the fuck?!

That is the dumbest, most bullshit thing I have ever read. At least Man of Steel got "growing up on Earth" right.

This is not Superman.

It's like having Bruce Wayne see his parents gunned down when he was in his 20s.
