Or want to smack the idiot that assigned someone so unqualified.
Wake me up at your own risk. There’s usually cases of the Jack of All Trades in these sorts of stories. The fact that they went with such a disjointed narrative deconstructed that...but blew the series up.
As someone who grew up on the X-Wing books, why couldn’t they have just made a ST equivalent to Rogue Squadron?

Maybe they were trying to appeal to kids? I didn't see much of Resistance but it seemed to be even more focused at younger fans than Rebels was.
Its very much the NEU went in every conceivable direction with the ST that I think for the most part everyone is just inclined to do whatever they want
The Books Create this web of corruption, dependence and collaboration between the NR and FO that you wonder why Leia even bothers sending someone for help all it does is end up getting the poor girl killed and then you wonder why the FO even bothered to blow up the NR in the first place... they own like 80% of it and half of it seceded... then again the movies don't even bother to bring that up so its not that important.
Like the books are UBERLY obsessed with painting the ST galaxy as this dark amoral place to the point that the under the counter deals between the NR and the Imps are the only thing keeping the economy running.
I'm A Pervert not an Asshole! It was explicitly meant for younger children, yes.
Makes sense. Hopefully they enjoyed it.
Gotta grimdark it up.
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."Something to note is that Resistance to my knowledge is the only Star Wars show to make no mention of The Force at all.
It is completely about the none-proficient people of the galaxy & it wound up being the most obscure of all.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."That was true for a while but apparently one of the later season 2 episodes went into some force stuff.
Too little, too late it would seem.
I guess resistance will just be relegated to the dustbin of star wars works in terms of obscureness.
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."I watched season 1 and part of season 2 but just lost interest, it seems to have lacked that...spark that Rebels and Clone Wars had.
Which is really striking when you consider just how much Star Wars likes to play around with obscure stuff in spinoff material. Even The Clone Wars had an episode that was essentially them trying to make an episode of Star Wars: Droids and that cartoon lasted all of one season as interest in the franchise began to wane.
I'm sure Resistance will get a few nods over the years but I doubt it will be as well remembered as TCW and Rebels.
At least it's not hated. Considering the current state of the Star Wars fandom, that's still an achievement.
Resistance was hampered by the sequel trilogy being ongoing, and no one having no idea where it was gonna go. There wasn't much they could do. Now that the sequel trilogy is finished, they should be able to do a new cartoon in the same era to flesh it out more. Maybe with the same characters, except they're actually traveling the galaxy for the New Republic? I haven't seen the second season, so maybe everyone dies, I dunno, but they can do something.
^That's fair, since for TCW and Rebels the trilogies around those eras had been completed for years before the show came out. Though even the 2D Clone Wars wasn't hampered, but again probably because the PT had a Forgone Conclusion
My AO32D Clone Wars also totals about 2 hours in length.
Granted what do you do. The st trilogy takes place over a grand total of one year. That's really stiffling in terms of eu stuff compared to the ot and pt trilogy.
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."The new trilogy was just one year?
"They truly were a Aqua Teen Hunger Force"There is essentially no time between Episodes VII and VIII, while about a year elapses between VIII and IX.
The new episode is up. The Bad Batch are cool.
"They truly were a Aqua Teen Hunger Force"I love these guys, they are fun.
We can we dress up as them in Battlefront?
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."It got really grating really fast when the story kept wanting the audience to laugh at him instead of sympathize with him.
That's entirely the problem with studio executives forcing kids' media to be dumbed down for the lowest common denominator.
Like, the modern animation industry has almost completely forgotten that you CAN make intelligent media primarily targeted at kids.
Just put the frigging effort in.
I've been saying this for years. Palpatine's sheer joy during his death match with Yoda was one of my favourite things about that fight. He was clearly having the time of his life.
So....has anyone watched the first episode of the new Clone Wars season?
Seems Echo is alive...I think he was that clone from that series of eps where a clone finds out about the kill the Jedi chips in their heads?
One Strip! One Strip!
I watched a half dozen or so episodes of Resistance before giving up on it. The main problem I had was that most of the narrative seemed to revolve around "Kaz sucks at his job, lol" — except that he was a pilot and has no training or experience as either a spy (his real job) or a mechanic (his cover), and no one (not even his ostensible friends) would actually help him.
It got really grating really fast when the story kept wanting the audience to laugh at him instead of sympathize with him.
Really from Jupiter, but not an alien.
