I had a very different experience with the superbosses, because I was basically ignoring driver combos beyond Topple until the post-game.

I focused on building up orbs to get full bursts.

Pulling off Driver Combos fills out the meter for building up blade arts, which help the process of making said elemental orbs. It's something that shouldn't be neglected unless there's no other option. Using an Overclocking Bangle to frequently swap between blades makes a huge difference.

Overclocking Bangle is something else that I never really used.

It was all about using Mythra's Lightspeed Flurry to spam specials, then either swap to someone else or use an ally to trigger the level 3 that creates the orb.

Fair, but you can only get so far with using Mythra and two other blades, for a total of three elements you have immediate access to.

Tora and Zeke provide the other elements, and in the end, triggering a full burst doesn't need that many orbs. Momentarily swapping to Pyra to get a Fire special is also an option.

I find you need at least 5 orbs to get Full Burst....though I'm sure I once managed to do it with four. Not sure how though.

Ah. You go for shorter bursts. I go all the way with all eight elements.

You can do a 4 orb full burst if you use Pneuma.

I only use 2 orbs, so AI partners only have 1 Blade.

Yes! That was it! That was how it happened. Thanks.

Anyway....I don't have enough fire blades with fire mastery. (I didn't know Dagas, Newt and Crossette don't have it) so I'm kinda irked. So I'm gonna have to save that dude for New Game Plus it seems. Next time I turn it on, I'm doing the time warp again.

I mean, there are common blades, and I'm sure you have plenty to work with given that you still need to find KOS-MOS.

You gotta point. Guess I'll just use a few more fire blades.

<Does just that, fights the boss....AND KILLS HIM ON THE FIRST TRY>

0_o

I...I wasn't even trying. I just did what you guys said. I used level III or IV specials whenever he tried to do an attack I didn't recognize (which could have been the doom attack you mentioned).

I had Tora in the team (though I was using Rex and Mythra), who still have the set up to let him break, so I was toppling launching and smashing him a lot. I Rex had two commons and Nia had one (both fire).

I didn't even get an orb. I just kept going until I saw I was actually wearing him down pretty quickly. I think it took maybe 5-6 minutes.

.....whut. Just whut.

......Well, time for New Game Plus. I'll save the other super bosses for then.

....

<Seethes in angry when he realizes getting KOS-MOS will still be tougher than the strongest boss in the entire fucking game>

Gladiator Orion is tougher despite only being level 100.

It's mostly because he's a Driver, which allows his blade to block your attacks and perform a number of his own blade attacks. He's also a Katana driver, which is among some of the deadliest Demonic Spiders in the game.

That level 130 superboss isn't really that hard, Doom effects aside. I often used him to farm SP for Morag and Zeke...until I read that the final boss yields just as much SP in a shorter amount of time (if you skip the final cutscene). As I said, I had more problems with Gladiator Orion, and that mammoth creature elsewhere on that continent.

Alright. Here I go. New Game Plus. Should be good since I got everything I need except for KOS-MOS.

Here's hoping I do better getting her now.

On the plus side, now you can maybe get some of the NG+ Blades along the way instead of just Common after Common.

To be clear, by the way, you don't get Mik from drawing random Cores. He shows up at the bottom of the World Tree (in Morytha) some time after his "death" in the story, and will offer to join your team if you talk to him.

Well, been going through things fast, admittedly because I haven't levelled myself down yet. Now that Rex, Nia and Tora again, I'm gonna get to that soon. Just beat up Dughal, and stopped before fighting Morag and Brighid, because I'm trying to figure out how to lower a bridge in the Titan Warship over the place where you fight Dughal. I can't remember how to find the key to it.

Going through the game again is interesting, as I'm noting things that would have sailed over my during my first play through.

I think that the ship that you find Pyra on is one of the escape ships used to shuffle refugees away from Torna. Not too sure on that.

And of course, Brighid recognizing Pyra (or rather, the Aegis) merely from seeing her Core Crystal likely stems from the knowledge of her diary. She must have been wondering why she both looked and acted differently from how she would have described her in records though.

That's about it so far. Wonder what else I'll notice as I go through the game again.

Double post.

And done with Morag.

Funny how they seem to know a lot (obviously from Bridhid's diary). They're fully aware Pyra isn't really trying yet, but I'm confused about one thing:

We only see Mythra sink one Titan (Torna, and she didn't exactly do it alone. Malos did at least some of the work in their fight), so why is she credited for sinking the other two? Was it because the fact that Malos was also an Aegis got lost to history so they blamed her for all three? Did she go berserk a few other times on two other continents and I just forgot? What's up with that?

Anyway, two gameplay questions: Now that I've got Nia for real, I'm gonna work on both getting KOS-MOS and lowering levels too (I admit, it's way to easy now). How does it work again with Bonus EXP (it gets explained, but I'm still not sure if I totally get it) and where do I go to get the ether crystals for Poppi (and more importantly, fill the last two nodes on Alpha's affinity chart)?

Remember the exp that you gain from quests, and how you can invest them into levelling up at an inn at your leisure? You can use those exp points to buy things from bards found in every dwelling for things, such as backpack expanders, legendary core crystals, Poppiswap ether crystals, and Overdrive Protocols. You can lower your levels and use the exp from that to buy those, but you'll have to work your way to level 99 if you spend too much.

Alright! Working on quests in Torigoth and Gormot before I get back to plot.

And guess what? I got a Rare Blade when I started opening cores again!

Yes! That's right! She's female! She's rare! She's on Nia!

She's....Patroka.

I mean, that's cool and all, but WHERE THE FUCK ARE YOU KOS-MOS!? I was using Justice Cores too. And I got a Patroka, who's an Earth Blade. This. Fucking. Game.

That being said, when I fight here later on, it's Patroka vs Patroka. Without a doubt.

Also, fuck you again KOS-MOS. I hope Shion dies and ends up in hell with her first boyfriend.

Calm down. You were told that the Flesh Eaters had much lower drop rates than the proper blades of Torna, so be grateful for that at least. Though I'd definitely value Akhos much more, and Nia's the worst Megalance user so using an Overdrive Protocol on Patroka should be your next course of action. I tend to put her on Morag.

I guess I ought to also ask: Are you skipping the opening scenes? Because you can do that. Once you get a rare blade, you can always view them in the cutscene theatre.
