I was going to say it would be more obvious if he was half-Indoline or half-Gormotti, but magic genetics. So maybe Addam is what a hybrid looks like.
Or maybe his mother was from one of the other two Titans killed in the war. We never even learn their names.
The DLC says one of them was Coeia. They might've mentioned the other one, but I don't remember it.
Temperantia?
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique! No, Temperantia is still there, it's just a wasteland. The others were completely destroyed.
The other destroyed Titan was Spessia. Historically it's blamed on the Aegises, but it was actually destroyed by Amalthus and the Praetorium in the chaos after the war.
Edit: @Anomalacrois: Rex's parents were not from Leftheria. They were war refugees who washed up near Fonsett.
Also Addam's mom is all but said to be Leftherian.

"We're all paper, we're all scissors, we're all fightin' with our mirrors, scared we'll never find somebody to love."Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive 2020
It seems like they actually are adding in the scrapped Bionis shoulder.

"We're all paper, we're all scissors, we're all fightin' with our mirrors, scared we'll never find somebody to love."Oh cool! It's been long enough since I played the first one that I'd be happy to play it again, especially if they're adding new stuff. Which'll probably include confirming whether or not Alvis is Ontos, since that seemed to be the implication in 2. Adding the shoulder makes sense too, since it looked like it was mostly finished anyway.
The character models look way better, too. The first game was amazing, but it'd definitely benefit from touch-ups in the graphics department.

Looks gorgeous. Gotta decide if I'm dipping on it.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique! If they're going to be addressing story elements, I highly suspect that, at the very least, they'll add a direct connection to Xenoblade 2. But if they're going the extra mile, what I'd really like for them to do is incorporate post-Mechonis Core Alcamoth into the main story, tie it in with the Tyrea sidequest, and move the Lorithia boss fight there, to give Melia a more robust conclusion to her role in the story.
That wouldn't be surprising. Those were some important sidequests and it'd probably be a good thing if they were more visible.
...Wait a sec. Are they going to need to record new dialogue for anything? Think they'll be able to get Melia's VA back? She's a lot higher profile now than she was at the time.

I get why they're rereleasing the original, but at the same time the one I really want them to rerelease is X.
They really ought to do that too. Maybe after they make a sequel, assuming they do?
Edited by SapphireBlue on Sep 4th 2019 at 4:21:47 AM
There are a few things to why X isn't coming yet.
- X would be considered a Wii U port and would likely be placed in the Janaury/ February or May slot (like Tokyo Mirage Sessions, NSMBUDX, Bayonetta 1 and 2, DKC:TF, or Hyrule Warriors).
- If I'm assuming correctly about placement, they likely don't want to overload people if 1 Definitive is a mid-year game (I'm going to guess June for the 10th anniversary, but it could be July).
- It's still highly likely that the monetary issues Takahashi sidestepped when asked last might still be an issue. I'm still guessing it's price for 32 GB carts which will be needed.

"We're all paper, we're all scissors, we're all fightin' with our mirrors, scared we'll never find somebody to love."Oh boy, time to purchase Xenoblade for the third time :p
It's been about 4 years since I last played though XB 1, so by the time it comes out I'll be ready for a replay.
"But if that happened, Melia might actually be happy. We can't have that." - Handsome RobHuh. I skipped out on the 3DS port, but maybe I'll give this a look. Been wanting to play it for a while now.
One Strip! One Strip!I want that awesome Wii U RPG remastered.
No no no I mean I want Xenoblade.
Maybe next year? Please?
Xenoblade 1 at least looks prettier than I remember it.
Your preferences are not everyone else's preferences. It looks like it's been scaled up.
Shulk looks a bit more like how he looks in XBC2, which isn't really a shock.
One Strip! One Strip!Fiora's face is different from Xenoblade 2, though.
Even Shulk's face is slightly more angular in Xenoblade 1 HD.
Where there's life, there's hope. The characters don't look like weird goldfish anymore.
This song needs more love.Yeah...the faces took some getting used to, even at the time. It'll be nice to have the models look less awkward.
EDIT: Noticed something on Nintendo's website. Go to the last screenshot and look closely at the Monado. I don't think it's ever looked like that before, with the feathery bits around the lens and the shape of the handle. I wonder if they changed its second design, or if this is something new.

Apparently Bionis' Shoulder has been integrated into the game.
Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau ProjectHere's a better look thanks to the folks at the subreddit. Either it is a new form for the Monado or they are changing the form of the Monado II.
A comparison of Metal Face right before he kills Fiora. lots more lights on his model and little-to-no motion blur.
Comparison trailer. Slowdown to .5 speed for a better look.
Zeke isn't Addam's direct descendant, but he is related to him.
