Finished season 1. That wasn't as heavy as everyone made it out to be.

Yep, though everyone in this case being about two people, that's to be expected.

For me the show never loses its cheesy-ness. The stakes rise and the conflict becomes more "serious" or whatever, but it's still intensely silly. There being a subplot in the final episodes about the here-to-unknown magical and alien powers of the Chrysanthemum, for instance.

I could rewatch Season 3's intro a thousand times and still get chills.

Things are getting so damn tense.

I've picked up the show and gotten halfway through Season 3 actually.

I'm up to where the two Crichtons have been separated.

This is one of those seires that has been on my favourites list for a while.

I need to rewatch it sometime as I am sure I missed several episodes due to circumstances out of my control when it was running.

Not really sure what to think about that. On the one hand, more Farscape would be awesome and there's a lot of loose ends that could be used for the movie's plot. On the other hand, I haven't read the comics that the movie is set to be a sequel to and I'm worried that Farscape would have to shed some of its surreal charm in order to become marketable enough to be made into a movie.

Just finished watching the premiere episode of this on the UK telly channel, Pick TV. Which has certain unfortunate implications if you know who owns it and what it used to be called.

I kinda liked it.

... I don't get it. Other than Rupert Murdoch being a generally unpleasant man, what's wrong with Sky 3?

It's Sky. Therefore tainted by original sin. I don't even pirate stuff that's on any of the Sky channels - that's how much I hate the whole stinking price gouging edifice that that company is made of.

I thought there was something more significant regarding the name of the channel.

You won't even pirate stuff that's shown on Sky (including programmes made by other companies?), but you will watch them directly? Pick is still owned by B Sky B, and they have a part-interest in Freeview and Freesat.

So unless this article is old, I suppose this is "more" confirmation about a possible film?

But its a rebooooooot.... about John and Aeryn's son... whyyyyyyy?

Probably because Browder and Black are too middle-aged to be the main characters of a feature film.

I'm not particularly looking forward to a Farscape movie. IMO, while Peacekeeper Wars had a some severe pacing issues, it was a good enough end to the series. I'm not really sure that we need a movie, especially if they're going to drop the rest of the cast.

I recently watched Arrow. Time has been okay to Browder's face, but not his gut.

Farscape was put to bed. If they want to reboot with a new cast, well, that's appropriate. But a lot of the show's charm stems from the context in which it aired.

I tried to get through the comic. It was all cutesy dialogue and continuity porn. Maybe there's an audience for that, but it's sure as hell not me.

This series is next on my list after I finish with Babylon 5. I remember catching a few episodes here and there and enjoying it but never had the time before to sit down and watch it. So it is next the list.

If no one's told you, you want to watch until a character named "Scorpius" comes up.

This has been on Netflix, and to celebrate, I have been binge-watching it. I recently got to the end of Season 2 with "Liars, Guns, and Money," and, because I am such a nerd, every single time I heard Crichton call Natira 'Frau Blucher,' I made horse-whinnying noises.

Mostly because I felt the boys doing the sound missed a great opportunity on that one. Other than that, I'd forgotten just how good this show is. You know how you watch something when you're young and then you can't appreciate it like you did when you were a kid?

After being subjected to so many seasons of The Big Bang Theory and How I Met Your Mother and Sleepy Hollow...I think I appreciate it more. We need more muppets in sci-fi, damn it!

As much as I love Scorpius, there are still several less-than-stellar episodes early on in Season 2 (Vitas Mortis, Taking the Stone, Dream a Little Dream, Picture If You Will.) It's only halfway through the second season where the writers just start knocking it out of the park, every. single. ep.

That said, Season 1 is underrated and far more entertaining the second time around, when you know where the character arcs are headed.

We truly live in the dark age of Television, all of the great tongue-in-cheek adventure shows of the past have been replaced with watered-down, insipid tripe. Hopefully we'll come full circle and get shows like Farscape again. One can dream, can't one?

One can dream.

And on that note— hey, how about that Ben Browder cameo in Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2? If that's not a tip of the hat, I don't know what is.
