Pokemon In The City-Role Play

The lake in the park felt amazing after a night of sleeping in a cramped pipe. Jet spun and twirled, and ocassionally breached the surface of the water. He snapped up Remoraid and other fishes, before finally coming out of the water and onto the shore. Jet went over to where he'd laid his clothes and began putting them on, drawing odd looks from a jogging couple.

"Is that Buizel putting on pants?" asked one.

"Looks like it," said the other. "Weird."

Jet rolled his eyes and started running, going into the woods and across a street (staying on the crosswalk, drawing even more weird looks) into an alley. He kept going, eventually shimmying his way up a pipe to the roof of a store. He then laid on his back, closing his eyes and allowing the sun to dry him.

"Yaaaaaawwwwn..." The Tepig got up. "Wonder what I should do today." He muttered. He found his bow tie and put it on. "Maybe I should go for a walk." He set off into the city.

"Can't catch me!" Fingers called as he scurried up the side of building. At the roof he looked back to blow a raspberry at the barking Poochyena in the alley below.

SLAM!

His taunting was interrupted by the fire escape behind him being forced open. Out of the dimly lit staircase slinked a battle-scarred Mightyena. Fingers gulped.

"Did you really think you could steal from my pack?" growled Blackfang, head of the Fang Gang.

"Yes," Fingers nodded confidently, show no weakness was a good rule of thumb. He swiped his tail in the direction of Blackfang. Stars erupted from it and homed in on the wolf but Fingers was already running in the other direction.

A leap over the alley where the poochies were still barking, then a frantic dash. These roofs were too close to escape the pack, Fingers spotted his escape route. A hard turn right (and a pooch crashing into an air vent) and a leap off the roof. Into nothing.

Well not nothing, Fingers' tail snapped out grabbing a streetlight and swinging him across the wide street. And safety.

"Ha ha!" with a wave Fingers turned and continued going at a more manageable pace.

-Sparks lazily opened his eyes, he popped his head out of the pipe he was laying in but quickly ducked back in. A pack of Poochyena had ran past, seemingly in pursuit of an Aipom. Sparks crawled out of the pipe, stood up and streched his legs. He discharged a bit of electricity from his body, small sparks cackled around his cheeks-

"Ahh..much better."

-Sparks climbed up through the pipe he'd slept in and looked out accross the city, he looked at the sun rise over the buildings and sighed-

"Just another day.."

The sound of barking roused Jet from his nap. Getting up he was just in time to see an Aipom go shooting past him. Jet looked down into the street and saw a group of Poochyena running after it with a Mightyena hot on their trail. Jet narrowed his eyes. The Fang Gang, after another Pokemon. He jumped down from the roof and used Water Gun, which slammed into the group of Poochyena and sent them back down the alley with a chorus of yelps. He looked back at the Aipom. "Hey, you all right?"

Kori was dozing on a wide window ledge, paws idly playing with her scarf, when she heard the commotion. Leaping to her feet, she looked around and scrambled up the side of the building, claws digging into the porous brick. On the roof, she straightened up and saw members of the Fang Gang chasing an Aipom.

The Sneasel chuckled to herself, then ran across the roof and leaped out, landing on a lightpost and grabbing the pole extending over the street with one paw. She deftly leaned down and grabbed the main support pole and swung herself down. Ducking into an alley, she ran towards the sounds of barking. Leaping up onto a fence, she waited until the gang was passing underneath.

A Water Gun knocked over several of the Poochyenas aside, but the leader, a Mightyena continued on. Kori dropped down in front of him and used Quick Attack to knock him into the side of the building, then Icy Wind to slow him up. She walked over to the Pokemon the gang had been chasing, a Buizel and an Aipom.

"Hi," she said shortly. "I'm Kori, and the Fang Gang will be back in a few seconds. Maybe we should go and chat in a safer time and place?"

Fingers had made it, this street was Claw territory, his little theft wasn't worth instigating a gang war. The Aipom hung from a streetlight to taunt the stupid mutts, only to discover some Buizel had already blasted them away.

"Yeah, fine." Fingers grinned, swung up to perch on the light and took a Oran Berry out of his vest, "As thanks," he said, tossing it to the water pokemon. Fingers returned to hanging upside down, it wasn't quite safe yet to descend to ground level.

Aipom waved at the Sneazel that had appeared like a ninja, "This is the edge of their territory. If we go a little this way they won't come after us."

Kori stood up, glancing over her shoulder at the Mightyena that was staggering to his feet.

Then she shrugged. "All right then." She jumped back up onto the fence and jumped from there to an open window in an abandoned house. Kori knew where all the abandoned, rundown hovels were on this side of town; she often took advantage of them to scare off thieves or bullies, or just to sleep in.

The Sneasel's dark eyes peered out of the shadows at the Mightyena. "Dare you to cross the borderline, Blackfang," she called. "And see what the Claw Gang has to say about it."

Turning her back on the snarling gang leader, she looked at the Aipom and Buizel. "You two have names?" she asked.

Jet tapped a paw to his brow. "I'm Jet. Much obliged. I don't cross Blackfang that often."

"I'm Fingers, what's your name?" He pulled another Oran Berry for the Sneasel, best to be friendly. He avoided mentioning how often he annoyed the various gangs.

Kori waved the Oran Berry aside; they tended to make her feel sick if she ate them and hadn't been injured in battle.

She gave the Buizel another look up and down. "You can't be the only one who doesn't. I've gotten in trouble with him a couple of times for being caught where he thinks I shouldn't be, but he's never done anything other than not like me much." She flashed him a grin, then stood up and looked over the street.

"At any rate, I'm not nearly as familiar with the Claw Gang. The Fangs live closer to me favorite sleeping place, so I have run-ins with them rather often, but never these guys. This isn't quite my part of town." The Sneasel glanced over at Fingers.

"I don't suppose you know them a bit better?"

The Tepig saw the ruckus the Fang gang was causing and tailed them. He saw the Sneasel go off with the Aipom, eventually meeting the Buizel. "Hmm, wonder what those guys are doing. They could be trouble." He muttered to himself. He hid nearby, listening in.

Fingers nodded and slipped the berry back in his vest.

"Yeah, they're mostly cats. Led by a Persian called Jewel. The one you have to watch out for is his chief enforcer, Razor the Liepard. I tend to just pass through their territory and they don't mind me much."

Kori nodded, storing the knowledge in the back of her mind for later use.

Suddenly her ear twitched and she stiffened momentarily before relaxing again. Lowering her voice but keeping a conversational tone, she murmured "Don't look now but we have company."

Her eyes flicked down to see Flint below them. "A Tepig. If he's hostile, you're best suited to it, Jet."

Jet shuddered. Liepard. He always felt uneasy around Dark-types, despite having faced down Darkfang more than once. He looked in the direction Kori had been pointing, and nodded. "I'll take care of him if he decides to be trouble."

He ran up to the window and looked down at the Tepig. "Hey, you want something?"

"Nothing in particular." Flint said nonchalantly. "Question is, what are you guys doing in this part of town? (Better not confront them while I'm alone.) It's dangerous territory, you know?"

-Sparks turned and ran back accross the roof, he'd heard the sounds of commotion a few seconds ago, he decided to investigate. As he reached the other side of the roof, he peered down, he noticed a Buizel, Tepig, Sneazel and an Aipom had apparantly been confronted by a Mightyena. As Sparks noticed the Poochyena running to catch up to the growling Mightyena he growled with dislike-

"The Fang gang." Sparks muttered

-Sparks jumped down on the window ledge next to the Buizel-

"Hey, are you alright? Most pokemon who encounter the Fang gang are left in a terrible state afterwards. My name is Sparks by the way."

"Hiya! I'm Fingers, don't worry about the Fangs, these two dealt with them for the moment." Fingers look across the way where a pooch was on sentry duty, Blackfang must've decided to head for more profitable waters. He turned his attention to the Tepig, "A little risky but not dangerous, and why are you this far south? I thought fire territory was a few blocks north of here."

Jet nodded at Sparks and stuck out a paw. "I'm Jet. And don't worry about the Fangs, I've dealt with them a few times before." he looked around. "We should probably move in case they come back."

Kori sat back against the window frame and looked the two newcomers over, twirling her scarf between her fingers. She kept her distance from Flint, keeping Jet between them; she always felt uneasy around Fire types. Blackfang and his goons she could handle. Fires? Not so much.

"Well, this place isn't so much dangerous as a bit challenging to get through. If you're fast enough and/or strong enough, you shouldn't have a problem."

Turning to Sparks, she adopted a more casual tone; she had nothing against him or his kind. "I'm Kori. And once you've dealt with Blackfang and his pups before, they aren't so scary." She grinned, then got to her feet.

"Jet has a point. Besides, I hear footsteps down that alley. The Fangs might be gone, but the Claws still live here, and I never finished my nap." She jumped down to the ground, then Quick Attacked across the alley and climbed back up the wall on the other side, jumping from window ledge to window ledge to reach the roof.

Jet followed her lead, Aqua-Jetting over to her and coming out of it with a spin. He looked over at Fingers, Sparks, and Flint. "Come on, you guys."

"Yeah, we should probably be going now. I'm not too familiar with the Claws but it sounds like they tolerate more than the Fangs, lets go."

-Sparks followed Kori's example and got up to the roof near Kori-

"Oran Berries! Get your fresh hot Oran Berries here!"

A Psyduck wandered the streets, his scarf flowing in the breeze. In his hand were several dirty Oran Berries. He skipped about, whistling a tune to himself.

"Hmph." Flint decided to follow the others. "(Bah, the Claws are easy to deal with, though I'm not sure if these guys can handle them.)"

-Sparks grew suspicious of the Tepig, but before he could ponder more he heard shouts coming from the neighbouring street. He ran across the roof and looked over the side of the building, he saw a psyduck skipping through the street exclaiming about oran berries, he suddenly felt very hungry as he remembered how long it had been since he had last eaten-

"I guess I could use an oran berry right now and I'll need to cross the street to get to the other building..."

-Sparks climbed down a pipe on the side of the building and approached the psyduck-
