@Napoleon(334),

It is not you are not allowed to complain. It is just you are being annoying by complaining. People shouldn't complain just to complain. Bitching for the sake of bitching doesn't take people anywhere. Even at the time, pure bitching was not seem with a good light, but it was understandable (it was the heat of the moment and everyone was doing s as well). Nowadays, it is just plain stupid.

@Ultimately Subjective,

Yes, it had to be a movie. It was an awesome movie. Even most who bitch about EE don't deny how kick ass the movie was. It wouldn't be half as good if it was part of a regular season.

@Excelion,

They clearly don't want out of chronology stuff again. I can see many reasons for that. First of all, as Setsuna pointed, most of post Disappearance relies on the 4th novel. It just stop reffering to Disappearance all time waaay ahead in the story.

Second, the books themselves are mostly chronologically from that point on. From book seven onward, it is all chronologically, and we have most of the 6th and the 5th animated already. The first airing of the anime have the chronology all messed up partially because the first books themselves are like that.

Finally, you forgot to take in account the so called "Second Season" is actually not a second season at all. It is a reairing with new episodes. At last part of the motives of a full reairing is to make clear where the new episodes fit in the old series.

@Sporkaganza(348),

If they have done less then 14 new episodes people would bitch there is too few new content.tongue(search your feelings, you know it is truth). I guess if they did cut all the superfluous Endless Eight episodes (making 3 instead), we would have a total of 23 episodes that season, which is closer to the standard then 26, though.

@hcobb,

Maybe he didn't thought at that? Or maybe he thought it was common sense? Why are you assuming he did that out of malice?

My point is that Kyon was looping for thousands of times, knowing that he had already looped for thousands of times and had at his fingertips a wakeup clock. (It's a span of hundreds of years that he has to think of this, so how dumb could he possibly be?)

It's almost as bad in the movie when this non-virgin to time-travel freaks because the world has changed around him.

Just look at how this monster treats the women around him.

Haruhi: He's not just leading the conspiracy to keep her from her full potential, but he's laughing inside as he thinks snarkish thoughts about her.

Yuki: He kicks her back in her box when she crawls out.

Mikuru: His own personal porn star. Pity she had to see that file folder.

And poor Sasaki is still emotionally numb from what he did to her in middle school. (And yet she comes crawling back for more abuse.)

YMMV of course. evil grin

...because he never remembers the previous cycles and therefore can't learn from them?

[up][up] I think you may be reading a very different story to the one I read.

But to address your key concern, Kyon specifically asks Yuki why she didn't tell them about the time loop and she says she is only supposed to observe. Yuki could probably simply break the time loop with her power, but it's against the wishes of the IDE.

Suggestions that Kyon doesn't want the situation fixed are also wrong, which is particularly obvious towards the end of the latter iterations.

Of course any fic that actually dealt with the topic of Kyon the monster would have to end something like this...

The yellow ribbon was half out of position in the girl's hair. She had been running so long that terrible night. She had lost her left sandal sometime ago and was just noticing her limp when her lungs gave out. She fell to the ground, crawled around the corner and with her back to the wall edged around to look behind her.

Nobody was there.

Suddenly the pay phone next to her rang and she looked up and stared at it. It rang two more times before she scrambled up to her feet and answered it. "Hello?"

"Do you see me, Haruhi?"

"No. Are you going to shoot me?" Her eyes looked in all directions, but saw no hint of motion.

"Kill you? Why should I kill you? I've done much worse than kill you. I've hurt you Haruhi, and I intend to keep on hurting you for the rest of your life. Live long Haruhi. I'll be watching."

Click.

"KYOOOON!" She screamed at the dead line, alone in the darkness.

This level of trolling is reasonable for Commander Obvious. What do you think of this, everyone?

if haruhi dies

the endless eight arc gets fixed

Not sure that killing Amaterasu would grant a new dawn on the next morning.

The actual fix of course is to get Uzume to dance naked outside Amaterasu's time bubble to lure her out of it. (Either that or come over to the Kyon's place and help him with his homework.)

And of course I've already written this character substitution.

[up] Well at least now you're making more sense.

But how does Yuki fit in? I do think the bon festival has significance.

Note the end of Endless Eight:

Step one: Get Haruhi's attention to the fact that...

Step two: You're gathering everybody except Haruhi, who can rot in her temporal bubble for all you care.

We're having a party over there and we don't need your stinking sunshine. We're happy without you.

Once you start writing up the SOS-dan in Japanese Mythology, the name Yuki for a strange cold little girl is irresistibly attracted to a certain concept.

And in place of espers one might use certain creatures of Japanese myth that use mental illusions.

Really it writes itself. (See above for link.)

Man you really don't like the characters in this series very much at all do you.

I can't say I blame you. The Brigade kind of has their issues.

It's more like they have endless possibilities.

The three girls in the SOS-dan map instantly to say the Powerpuff girls. (Same Three Faces of Eve vs Beauty, Brains, and Brawn mapping.)

Fair enough. One thing that a lot of fans like about the series is the possibilities.

Sounds like it should go in the other thread though.

But was it Haruhi who did it or Kyon subconsciously doing it because of his lack of drive to do his homework?

[up]it seems to be kyon

from what i read at the light novel

though that can be a possibility

because of how unreliable his narration is

Frankly, it's more plausible than any other theory about Haruhi, given the events of volume 9.

I still don't like it. I think the idea that Kyon has supernatural powers kind of ruins the whole thing. The point is supposed to be that Haruhi likes him because he's who he is, not because he's a super or a stereotype.
