-Sticy Lips' rolling form is hit once again, bringing him down to rather low health as well, but manages to roll in the Girafarig's direction one last time-

-Girafarig is hit, and faints- <Uncouth...>

Whitney: Eep! Looks like I'm down to my last Pokemon... -sends out Miltank-

Miltank: <Moo.> -rolls into Sticy Lips-

-Upon vanquishing the Girafarig, Sticy Lips begins to glow, and he unrolls as he does so-

Sticy Lips: <:O>

-Sticy Lips expands slightly and has goes through some other changes as well-

Sticy Lips: <:3>

-Sticy Lips is then hit by the Miltank, causing him to faint-

Sticy Lips: <Aw... :(>

-Crow recalls Sticy Lips-

Crow: "Third time that's happened... Alright, let's try-"

-Glöckchen pops out of her ball, then rings her bell-

Crow: "Alright, then..."

-It starts to hail-

<Zapdos Feather: "Okay, barbarian. Your first task is to prove your valor. Tribesbones around the northern maw commonly offer Nidoran quills as part of their offerings for their mate's young...">

<Rising Star: "Nidoran? Okay... I think I've heard of what they're like... They're like colorful Buneary, yes?">

<Zapdos Feather: "... What on earth is a Buneary?">

<Kat: "Uh... I guess that's a fair enough comparison... But... Where are you going with this, seer? And why couldn't I take my trainer along..."> ._.

<Zapdos Feather: "Now, now, Chain of Spades... It is imperative that this barbarous "elder" can prove his own worth without help... After all, will your human and his fiends always be there to watch over your young?">

<Kat: "...">

<Zapdos Feather: "Anyhow... Among the brave among them... Or foolhardy... They attempt to prove themselves through the retrieval of a quill from one of Burning Spike's kits.">

-In a startled tone-

<Kat: "Wait, Burning Spike?! You're making him get a quill from one of his young?!"> O_O

<Rising Star: "Um... Just who is this, ag-">

-And the form of a hyperventilating Marowak without a club bursts from some bushes and rushes through a clearing and happens to stumble into the party of observers-

<Kat: "OW! Watch where you're going!">

-In a quailing tone-

<Disarmed!Marowak: "Shh! Pl-Please! Don't make any noise!">

<Rising Star: "Are you okay? And what happened to your clu-?">

-It is at this point that a Nidoking knocks down a tree on the other side of the clearing-

<Burning Spike: RAAAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWWWRRRRRRRR!>

-And non-chalantly snaps a Marowak club with its teeth-

-Looking rather upset-

<Disarmed!Marowak: "M-My club... I sp-spent forever getting the sh-shape just right...">

<Rising Star: "Um... This 'Burning Spike' wouldn't happen to be a different fiend, would it?"> ._.

<Zapdos Feather: "Nope. Your perception is correct, now get moving.">

Miltank: -hailed upon- <Ouch!> -and uses Rollout-

AU Ecruteak, dusk

-Helen is sitting at a desk by the window, Hermes and a Pidgeotto sprawled across some scattered papers and perched rather precariously on an umbrella shaped like a Tamato berry, respectively. Helen scribbles down a few things on a piece of paper in cramped hand writing, every so often asking the two Pokemon a question. After a while, she puts down her pen and rolls up the paper. Hermes darts up and grabs it in his mouth, then scampers off to deposit it in its proper place. Helen leans back and looks out the window, where a horde of Flying type Pokemon are gathering around the roof of a house near the center of town-

Helen: Ranger's having a meeting today, huh? Why don't you ever go, Diana?

Diana the Pidgeotto: <He has them every night, you know. I don't go because I don't need to hear the news everymon brings. I went sometimes when I was a Pidgey.>

Helen: Do you know how many Pokemon Ranger has reporting to him?

Diana: -makes the bird equivalent of a chuckle- <Half the Flying types in the region, at least, I'd say... or at least directly. He's got everyone in Ecruteak and Mahogany, or near abouts, and even has a few contacts in the Goldenrod murders... I think he knows a few friends of the Nido colonies too, but I might be wrong. He's quite the well connected little 'bat.>

Helen: He's a busybody, is what he is. Useful if you want to know something, though.

Diana: <He likes to know what's going on, yes...> -ruffles her wings- <Jillian, Eli and I are going out to check out that gorge a little more closely. Are you coming?>

Helen: Tempting, but I think I'll stay here. I have a few more order forms to fill out.

Diana: <Suit yourself. Good night, dear.>

Helen: G'night, Diana.

-she yawns and pulls another paper towards her and starts scribbling as Diana hops down from the umbrella and hop-steps out towards the woods in the backyard-

Mahogany Town

Duke: <I'll be looking forward to it, oh, and Zap, come with me, I want to talk with you.>

Zap: <Are you going to scold me too? Man...>

Duke: <Well, take care, you two.>

Zap: <Yeah! Have fun there!>

-Duke and Zap then start going somewhere else-

Gex: <Hey... How long has Duke been on the team, Riku?>

Riku: <For... I think two or three years, maybe, I'm bad at keeping track of time.>

Jordan: <You two must be really close them, considering the little talk I had with Duke after that accident, he seemed really upset because of you.>

Riku: <Yeah... He's like... My brother. I really admire him since he's always helping me out and cheering me up when I have a problem, so I can't help but feel really bad when he gets mad at me like after that accident...>

-Glöckchen dtires to dodge, but is nicked by the rolling Miltank-

Glöckchen: -her expression unchanging- <That wasn't nice> -kling-

Crow: "Use GrassWhistle!"

-Glöckchen plays a grassy tune designed to lull Miltank to sleep-

Lake: <Oh yeah. I heard about what happened to you after that accident Riku. It sounded rough.>

The Dragonite plods over to the Sandslash and picks him up, hugging him tightly.

<Ah...better late than never, eh?>

-A certain Archeops is pacing about, having shooed away some guards with an axe to grind out of the compound-

<Archeops(?): "... Any luck, Audrey?">

<Audrey: "Well, I've made it into the attic, but I don't know how to get out without getting noticed...">

<Archeops(?): "The attic?">

<Audrey: "Yeah, your security is a little weak above ground le- Wait a minute... I feel something...">

From a Vantage Point a Short Distance Away

<Assassin!Rampardos: "Got a lock on him?">

<Assassin!Garchomp: "He's just standing there... This is too per-">

-And are cut off by a loud crash and a plume of dust rising from the compound's central courtyard-

<Assassin!Tropius: "Hey, what the-?!">

<Assassin!Rampardos: "We've got competition?!">

<Bottles: "Well, that's one way to make an entrance...">

<Archeops(?): "Ah! What on earth was-?!">

Outskirts of "Ancient" Sector - Almer-B

-A certain surviving 2 members of an attempt on a certain identity-confused bird's life are patrolling along some docks-

-Looking out at some still-simmering chaos further out in Almer-

<Firuzland!Rampardos: "Looks like whatever's going on there isn't calming down...">

<Firuzland!Armaldo: "Bah, what do you expect from those serf nat-">

-And spots some movement from underneath the docks-

<Firuzland!Armaldo: "Hey! Who goes there?!">

<Spy!Druddigon: "Relax, would ya?! We just got back from the rounds in the Remnant's sector!">

<Firuzland!Rampardos: "Wait, do you know what's going on out there?">

<Spy!Druddigon: "If I had to guess, I'd say a piss-poor shot probably was chasing a thief or something.">

<Spy!Bayleef: "You're not gonna believe who we found out there!">

<Firuzland!Armaldo: "Who you-">

-And the form of an Archen and an Archeops emerge... The latter being more relevant-

<Firuzland!Armaldo + Rampardos: "YIPE!">

<(?): "... I've never seen either of you two before in my life...">

Riku: -chuckles- <Thanks, Stratus and yeah, it was pretty rough, I got some support though, it didn't do much, until Zack came to talk to me.>

Gex: <Oh yeah, that guy is weird, he kept switching from mean to nice.>

Jordan: -shrugs- <Maybe that's just his way of helping.>

Riku: <And... Sorry if I hurt you, I always try to make me spikes as sharp as possible for when I use Gyro Ball.> -chuckles a bit more-

Crow: "Great. Now use Ice Shard!"

-Glöckchen generates ice fragments and shoots them in the direction of the Miltank-

Miltank: -Ice Sharded and hailed upon until finally-

-waking up in the red- <Mooo....>

-and tries to Stomp Glockchen-

Stratus: <Eh, it's okay. I've been through much worse...>

He lets go of the Sandslash, wincing somewhat, but otherwise fine.

Lake: <Wait, wait, wait. So...Zack actually was nice to you? Because Dylan sorta' told me about it yesterday and I just...I didn't even...>

The Feraligatr clutches his head.

<Urk, my brain's gone all melty.>

Almer, PMD-B

Helios: -Coughs- <Let's not try that again.>

-Headfins twitching-

<Come on guys, the golden trail leads to this building.>

-Headfins start twitching more-

<I get the feeling we might not be alone.>

Draca: -Looking around- <So where is Tracer anyway?>

Pica: <Can we hurry up and find him, I'm getting tired of this malarial swamp.>

-Of course, this commotion attracts a number of guards, who move to surround us-

Muddy: -Sweatdrops- <Oh great.>

-Glöckchen is surprised at the attack, though she doesn't really show it. She takes a large amount of damage and flinches, or at least would if she hadn't used Ice Shard immediately before-

Crow: "Ice Shard, one last time!"

-Glöckchen forms ice again and shoots the ice at Miltank-

Miltank: <Moo!> -totters...and falls-

Whitney: Miltank! -sniffle- Good job, challenger... -hands Crow a Plain Badge and whatever TM the Gym gives out-

Mahogany Town

Riku: <Not thaaat nice, it was more like a "you should stop being a wimp and learn to stand up for yourself" thing.>

Gex: <Yeah, that's about it.>

Jordan: <Why the surprise?>

Riku: <Well, I think they only met with Zack thrice, the first one was after we met and there was all this issue about the Bubble Shield and Zack fired me inside the bubble pretty high, I didn't care since I know he didn't want to hurt me, and I did get away unharmed... The second he started to insult Stratus in every possible way, the third one he just destroyed a comic book of Lyuri's, things got solved pretty fast though. I guess that made an impression.>

Jordan: -looks at Stratus- <Well, he at least has the guts to insult him.>

Gex: -also looking- <He does look a bit funny though.>

Dylan: -same as the others- <It's a pretty cute appearance actually.>

Riku: -also does the same- <Yeah... I think that if he had about our height, most would think he's harmless.>

-Awkward silence-

Riku: <... Sorry about that.>

-Coughing a bit from the dust kicked up-

<Pepper: *cough cough* "Blargh, I told you we should have gone through a proper entrance!">

<Audrey: "Wait a minute... I can feel Teala down there! And Lardna! And-! Wait how just how many of the others are in this universe, Tracer?">

<Archeops(?): "Wait... What?">

-And flies down towards the settling dust plume-

-Straw is around, not doing much still-

I wonder if I should go home for a visit tomorrow...

Crow: "Oh, thanks."

-Crow takes the Plain Badge and    Attract    TM and leaves the Gym with Glöckchen-
