Alli: Wander blindly, spending hours on a task that should only take a few minutes?

Eskay: …sure, let's go with that. *Realization* On second thought, maybe an Unown isn't such a good idea...

Alli: Why not?

Eskay: Well, we wouldn't want to make any Pokémon a translation slave. And Unown are pretty much... useless. Besides, they can probably only translate the letter they look like.

- Umbra walks back out to Cinder.-

Cinder: Back so soon? There must REALLY be nothing to do-

Umbra: -smiles- I talked with Professor Elm. It took him some convincing, but once he realized I knew Rex and Luke he was more than happy to have you spend time with a real Trainer.

Cinder: I don't even... Holy Muk, Cinder you have an actual trainer, and not in some horribly dangerous alternate universe either! Quick, pinch yourself! -pinches himself- Ow! Yes! I'm not dreaming!

Umbra: -raises an eyebrow at Cinder- OK... So, you want to come?

Cinder: Sure! Beats hanging around this lab all the time!

Umbra: Good. -recalls Cinder into his ball- Now, let's find Lina...

Violet City, just outside Sprout Tower

Alli: ...you don't suppose the elder might be able to teach you...?

Eskay: It's worth a shot.

They go in.

Sage: If the Elder you wish to see, you will have to battle me!

Eskay: Yeah, whatever, this better be quick.

Eskay: Seriously, a Bellsprout? Skye, Aerial Ace.

Sage: It is clear that you are tough, but verse the Elder, is it enough?

Alli: Oh, Arceus, they're constantly rhyming...

They continue climbing the tower, curb stomping every Sage in identical battles, which, for sanity's sake, are going to stay offscreen. Once they reach the top...

Elder: I see you've climbed up the whole tower. A feat like that demands great power. Your next challenge will blow away all of your other ones today. I'm known as Elder Li by name, and this battle won't be the same... as all the other fights you've fought. Now come at me with all you've got!

Eskay: Yeah, yeah, whatever, Dr Seuss. Let's get this over with.

Eskay: Oh, come on, not you too! Skye, you know what to do.

Alli: Oh, no, they've got you rhyming too!

Elder: ''Crap, this simply will not do. Time to go on to Plan 2.

Eskay: Finally, some variety! Skye, Rock Slide!

Elder: You have won; now you may speak. What is it that you do seek?

Eskay: Are you able to teach me how to speak monese?

Alli: Ooh, I know! Name it Wilbur! Like in that book with the Spinarak!

Unite is flipping through the TV channels trying to find something to watch, but without much luck, while a certain Lucario watches him curiously.

Wulfric: How can you form an accurate opinion on a television program from only a two second glimpse?

Wulfric frowns, not sure if he approves of this answer, but gives the Braviary a curt nod, anyway.

Unite flicks to the next channel, which is currently showing a news report.

Reporter: "...And in international news, it appears that the entire northern half of Unova has been affected by increasingly colder weather..."

Both Pokémon, natives of northern Unova themselves, stare at the screen in shock.

Hmm... How many people do I check up on to get a general idea of how things are going? And which places do I check apart from the ones high-lighted on most maps?

Maybe I should let him go back to hunting for a while. *yawns* In the meantime... *looks around to see what his team is up to*

Espeon!Rascal: *curled up underneath the bench, asleep*

Ari: *hanging from the ceiling, likewise snoozing; the light seems to be causing him to stir, though*

Flay: *asleep in a dark corner of the room*

Abelle: *buzzing around the windows, curiously looking out at the city*
