This morning, before entering the Twilight

-sends a text to Katie, saying that we're going to the Valour sector-

"Go, Octillery! Fire another Aurora Beam!"

"Mantisk, get in there and use Leaf Blade!"

The Grovyle nodded, strafing towards his opponent even as a second beam of light slammed into his gut at the closer range. He grimaced slightly, but continued through the pain, slashing with his sword-like leaves across the octopus' center. It wheezed in pain, clenching one eye shut, but still very much in the game.

"Octillery, use Octazooka!"

"Finish it, Mantisk!"

A spray of ink impacted against the Grovyle's face, but his strike hit true, fainting the tentacled Pokemon upon impact.

"Heh...not bad," Volkner complemented. "Not bad at all."

Mantisk's vision was slightly hampered by the ink, but he was vaguely able to make out the appearance of his next opponent. Judging by the spikes and the build, it had to be a...

"Your turn now, Jolteon!"

Sunnyshore City, present

Rex: ... *smiles slightly, wondering how Pierce is doing*

Amanita: -tilts head at Tagg- Huh?

Ashley reunites with Hunter, recalling Six and, lacking any other means of easily transporting the Noctowl, catching him. Then, noticing Every seems to have left, she goes to find Katie.

Mix: <Hey! I'm not stupid. >

Sunnyshore Gym, past

"Jolteon, Pin Missile!"

"Avoid it, Mantisk!"

Mantisk darted for the sides of the Gym, the ink further obscuring his vision as he ran. Behind him, he could hear the sound of needles sinking into the metal gym floor as well as the pattering of feet telling him that the Jolteon was giving chase. It was only a matter of time before...

<Gah!>

   HIT   

"No!"

   HIT   

<...Ugh...>

The Jolteon smirked in satisfaction, looming over its fallen opponent with a smug air. Still, it would not administer the final blow unless its trainer commanded it, something that he seemed unwilling to do at the moment.

"Let's not risk any unnecessary injuries, Jolteon. I might need your speed later," Giving his trainer a nod, Jolteon charged up the energy for the move. "Use a Volt Switch, Jolteon."

It really did pay to have other Gym Leaders as fans.

Ramming into the Grovyle and knocking him flat on his back, the Jolteon shot back towards Volkner in a flash of light, smirking at a job well done. However, a pitch black shadow at the corner of his eye caught his attention, the Eeveelution turning in surprise to see.

<Pursuit, bitch.>

The Jolteon squeaked as it was rammed, flying back into its Pokeball with a groan of pain. Mantisk, meanwhile, weakly held himself up on the Gym floor. He wouldn't be able to last too much longer. Especially not against something bi-

"Go, Electivire!"

<...Oh crap...>

Sunnyshore City, present

Rex: *cuddles Salamence, feeling somewhat anxious*

-To Amanita-

When Team Galactic detonated the Galactic Bomb, and evaporated all the water out of the lake. I happened to be there when it happened. I wasn't happy.

-Enters Azelf's cave-

Salamence: <Eep!>

Salamence: -snuggles-

Amanita: ....-shivers and follows-

Ashley arrives back at the tent and waves to Katie.

"Hi there, Katie! Some competition, huh? Hehe..."

Hi Mix! -pets him- Oh, hello again, Ashley! You enjoyed it? Crazy stuff, huh?

Floored by the Electivire immediate Fire Punch, Mantisk was barely conscious as he recalled. And even had he been, he likely still wouldn't have seen the grim look on his trainer's face.

"Urgh...I can do this..." Tossing the Heavy Ball from before, Rex nodded as Rampage appeared. "Use Earthquake!"

"Electivire, Fire Punch."

The large Electric-type managed to reach Rampage first, the surge of heat that washed over the mammoth's body making him wince in pain. <What I wouldn't give for Thick Fat right now...> Nonetheless, the Mamoswine lowered its hooves onto the ground, sending a massive shockwave throughout the area.

"Whoa," Rex yelped, falling to the ground, Volkner barely faring much better himself. However, the Electivire, while it took the brunt of the attack, still seemed to be standing. Rex stared in confusion, unsure as to how this could have possibly happened.

It was then that he noticed the Electivire chewing on something.

Route 208, past

"The Sultan of Shuca," the Berry Master announced to himself smugly.

Sunnyshore Gym, past

"Ugh...one more should do it, Rampage!"

"Another Fire Punch, Electivire."

The two attacks connected once more, both trainers looking on to see which of their Pokemon had succumbed first.

Sunnyshore City, present

Rex: *tickles Salamence* :3

Outside Forte's tent

Forte: -walks over- Man, can't believe I didn't win anything.

Shadow: <Technically, you weren't participating.>

Forte: Whatever. Let's just pack up the tent and go. I'm tired of sitting out here in the cold...

Ashley nods, smiling. "Yeah, I did. There were some great sculptures."

"But her Pokemon destroyed, like, half of them," Hunter chimes in, chuckling. Ashley tries to elbow him, but he dodges easily.
