- Veronica is taking a walk around Sootopolis with her Pokémon -

Veronica: (thinking) Hmm... Haven't really done much while in Hoenn, but I guess I was taking a break from more of the competition based stuff...

Flashback, some unspecified city, eight years ago

- An eight year old girl with short brown hair and light purple eyes is sitting by her desk, seeming to be thinking about something while gently tapping the eraser end of her pencil against her chin -

Younger!Veronica: Hmm...

Some other girl: Hey, Veronica? Aren't you coming outside?

Younger!Veronica: Huh?

Other girl: Didn't you hear the bell? It's recess! Time to go out and play!

Younger!Veronica: Oh! I guess I must've been thinking too much about this homework the teacher gave us...

Other girl: You mean writing about what kind of trainer you'd like to be? (grins) I'm gonna train dragon types!

Younger!Veronica: Why dragons?

Other girl: (smirks) So I can use them to scare my little brother next time he tries to read my diary! That, and because they look cool!

Younger!Veronica: I don't think I could train just one type of Pokémon...

Other girl: Oh?

Younger!Veronica: Not to mention all the things trainers can do... some might take the gym challenge, others might focus on contests, and some prefer just the Pokéathlon in Johto... Ah! Everything looks like fun! I don't wanna have to choose, I wanna do it all!

- Unbeknownst to the two young girls, their conversation has caught the attention of a Munna, who is now observing them through a window from the outside -

Other girl: Well, I don't see a reason why you can't do that...

Younger!Veronica: Really?

Other girl: Yeah, my parents are always trying to get me to try new things. (shrugs) Not really sure why they do that, but I think it might be some adult thing.

Younger!Veronica: Ha! I guess you're right!

- A young boy peeks into the classroom -

Some boy: Hey, girls! Guess what? Some of the other kids found a Stunky sleeping in some bushes, and now one of them is going to poke it with a stick and see what happens!

Younger!Veronica: A Stunky?

Other girl: That sounds like a really bad idea... Let's watch!

- The three head outside, the Munna outside the window smiling to herself -

The Munna: <Nice to see young children with such wonderful dreams...>

Present, Sootopolis

Veronica: (thinking) I've already done a lot of different things in six years, but, there's still plenty of things to try and plenty of Pokémon I haven't tried training yet just waiting for me to catch them! (smirks) Things never get boring that way. (leans against a wall, taking out a map and looking at it) I wonder what new Pokémon I'll catch next?

Mossdeep, yesterday

Reynard: Well, that was close...

Styx: If it makes you feel any better, up until Woolly almost attacked Lake I thought it was GOLD.

Reynard: Really?

Styx: Yeah!

Gilgamesh: You're good at pranks, Uncle Reynard!

Reynard: Thanks! Wait... uncle?

Styx: Yeah. Consider that your hazing initiation. Welcome to the team.

- Reynard grins. -

Mossdeep, today

- The three are recounting the incident to the others, who are laughing. -

Kim: Awwww... *looks somewhat disappointed* Oh well; maybe we can learn more about that castle then.

Solaceon Ruins

Calvin: *is leading the group around the ruins* You see, this place is the resting site of various items and objects from a time long past. It was even discovered that the [Mind Plate], one of the various fragments that Arceus created to augment his power, was found in these very ruins. However, some kid ran off with it in order to boost the power of his Psychic Pokemon! *shakes his head* Crazy kids...

Rex: *blinks*

Solaceon

Lina: - Waves a hand at the Unown folowing her. - Shoo!

Chrome: - To Calvin - <It's a shame... such interesting artifacts... Though the only Legendary I really have respect for is Shaymin.>

Unown G: *makes an indecipherable noise and floats off somewhere*

Calvin: *blinks at the message* Hmm? *to Rex* Did you say something about Shaymin?

Rex: No?

Calvin: Hmmm... *shrugs and continues leading them on* In any case, the nature of what these ruins were used for in their day is still uncertain. However, we believe that... *continues to speak*

Chrome: -To Rex- <Sorry, I guess he's not used to Metagross talking to him telepathically. I was just saying the only Legendary I really respect or worship is Shaymin.>

- A small swarm of Unown suddenly start circling Lina -

Lina: Arrrgh! What are you, Ghosts?

Rex: I see. *notices the Unown* ...Eep!

Calvin: Hmm? What seems to be going on here?

Solaceon

Lina: I don't know... I shooed one away and they came back with a vengance!

- Chrome chuckles. -

Solaceon Ruins

Calvin: *smiles* I wouldn't be too worried. You see, Unown aren't exactly violent entities.

Rex: *goes over to Lina to help her feel a bit more at ease*

Calvin: *leads them down the final flight of stairs, the Unown still circling Lina* Did you know there are actually 28 forms of Unown? While there are the 26 of the alphabet, there are also two newer forms. One in the shape of a question mark and the other an exclamation point. These were discovered by a *airquotes* "Ruin Maniac" on Route 214. It is said that he dug the tunnel by himself at first, wanting to assist the Hippopotas on the route who were exposed to the weather. However, as time went on, the Hippopotas began to aid him in the dig, uncovering a path to the separated ruins as a result. You see, by working together, humans and Pokemon were able to create amazing things. That, I think, is what the Unown wish to teach us.

Dawn: That's an amazing story, sir.

Calvin: Indeed it is. Now, the reason I brought you here. Take a look at this wall. *gestures to a wall on the far side of the room*

Rex and Dawn: *approach it with Lina*

Wall: *has a message written on it in Unown letters that spells out "Friendship. All lives touch other lives to create something anew and alive." There is also a tiny image of Keldeo in the corner of the message, though that was probably added by some mischievous youth.*

AU - Castellia

-A certain male trainer with an assortment of Pokemon from just north of Icirrus is walking down a street-

-Passing some shops who have moved their wares outdoors as their host buildings are under repair-

Tracer(?): "Hmm... I guess it's nice to see that even in tough times, that Unovan spirit still has a way of shining through..."

<Dreyer: "Oh! Oh! It's like what they did to that one spot in Nimbasa with all the billboards!">

<Dahak: "Well? Isn't this a town that prides its residents who have gone on to succeed from the most unlikely of backgrounds? And I don't think that these streets would be able to take cars right now if they tried...">

<Natrix: "Really? I thought that it was the place that everyone else complained about for being too detached from the rest of the world.">

<Dreyer: "... I thought that was Angela... Such a horrible place... It never gets cold enough for frost!">

<Simo: "I've always been more partial to the regions to the north of Angela anyways...">

<Dreyer: "... Those places still never get snow! Even if they do frost over occasionally.">

-Scanning the stalls-

<Nimbus: "... What on earth happened to Nimbasa anyways? The Musical Hall is gone... The Ferris Wheel is gone... The museums were looted... That one square was closed so that half of the buildings could be repaired... The Battle Subway didn't have a roof and half of the lines weren't operational... The Pokecenter got moved to some hole in a wall... And there wasn't a GTS terminal or item shop there!">

<Natrix: "Yeah, it's like all the tourists had a massive contest to take physical chunks of the places they liked to visit back home with them...">

<Teala(?): "Hmm... Seems that whoever ruled Unova before this didn't really know how to take care of it... Or maybe they just didn't bother...">

<Simo: "It seems that way, yes... Some of the other Pokemon said that they wound up ruling the whole of the world... I can't imagine what other places must be like...">

<Nimbus: "Speaking of which, what did happen to Angela in this universe anywa- Oof!">

-And happens to bump into a Tyranitar who has appeared a few times previously in this RP-

-Annoyed-

<(Ex-)Goon!Tyranitar: "HEY! Watch it!">

-Looking rather startled-

Tracer(?): "... Oh geez..."

Somewhere South of Lilycove

After having had a nom of two or three farm mons, a certain foreign Salamence flies up to the skies of Hoenn, looking around for anything interesting to do.

Somewhere...

- Two random Team Ozone grunts, both female, are sort of just having a conversation -

Random female Ozone grunt 1: (licking a lollipop) Hmm... Hey, I was thinking...

Random female Ozone grunt 2: (looking up from reading a magazine) Huh?

Random female Ozone grunt 1: You know that Rayquaza, and how the scientists believe that he kept his human memories?

Random female Ozone grunt 2: Yeah, I'm worried too...

Random female Ozone grunt 1: Worried? No, no. (taking a few more licks of her lollipop) I was just thinking we might be able to use this to our advantage...

Random female Ozone grunt 2: ... What are you getting at, here?

Random female Ozone grunt 1: I mean, think about it... With his memories intact, that gives him a bit more... weaknesses, shouldn't it? (licks her lips) I say this could really be an oppurtunity.

Random female Ozone grunt 2: Um... Where are you going with this?

Random female Ozone grunt 1: Well, from what I've heard, there was a girl observed travelling with him before they snatched him... (smirks) If we had kidnapped her, we could possibly get him to assist us in exchange for the girl's safety.

Random female Ozone grunt 2: W-What!?

Random female Ozone grunt 1: What do you say? Think the idea is worth bringing up to one of the higher ups?

Random female Ozone grunt 2: Are you crazy!?

Random female Ozone grunt 1: Eh? (takes a few more licks of the lollipop as the other grunt speaks)

Random female Ozone grunt 2: Didn't you hear of how badly that Rayquaza trashed the lab? If we were to kidnap his female human friend, don't you think that would just make him even angrier with the team!? Now I don't know about you, but I'm too young to be mauled to death by an angry sky deity!

Random female Ozone grunt 1: ... Gee, someone's sure afraid of taking chances. (continues licking her lollipop) You're not gonna get anywhere in this world if you don't take a few risks once in a while, you know!

Random female Ozone grunt 2: (sighs) Remind me again why I hang out with you? (continues reading her magazine)

Anakin: -has "borrowed" a Full Heal from Every's bag, and is waiting for Basket to wake up to offer it to her-

On a deserted Island in the Sea of Kyogre...

A certain Dragonite has managed to find a quite place where he and his new-found legendary friend can explore on the ground without any interruptions for any humans wishing to use the ancient dragon for any sort of nefarious purposes.

However, he still doesn't seem very happy, despite being earthbound for the time being.

Rayquaza: <Stratus...I was kind of hoping we could go somewhere slightly more populated.>

Stratus: Frowns. <But there's surely more Pokémon down here on this island then there is up in the sky, no?>

Rayquaza: Rolls his eyes. <I wouldn't know. The only other living thing we've seen since we got here was a Corpish. Which you ate.>

The Dragonite says nothing, shifting uncomfortably in place.

Stratus: <...Sorry.>

Rayquaza scowls at him for a second, then shakes his head, glancing out towards the sea.

Rayquaza: <Surely there must be somemon around here we can talk too...>

With Wolf

Ichtacya wakes up, enjoys some sunlight and then falls to the ground again, half-curled with a :3 face.

Ichtacya: <~eeeeeee~ I'm sure this will be a calm day~>

Random Island

Because of the time of the day, the alignment of the planets and the special properties of the Bug-type (don't ask), Foreign!mence's shadow can be seen passing over the island despite the Pokémon being about four kilometers away, flying around idly.

-The Tyranitar takes a look at the trainer and his mons, noticing Teala but none of the others, including one currently obscured Meinshao-

-Backtracking-

<(Ex-)Goon!Marowak: "Hey! What's the holdup?">

<(Ex-)Goon!Scyther: "Yeah, boss we're supposed to be- Oh! Er... Hi? What are you doing here?">

-With a quizzical expression on her face-

<Teala(?): "... Huh?">

<Natrix: "... Someone who knows us and isn't begging to be left alone off the bat? That's... New...">

-Starting to look a little nervous-

<(Ex-)Goon!Marowak: "Uh... Well I assumed that since we wound up fighting on the same side and all... That... Maybe you wouldn't thrash us again?">

-Annoyed, leering at Natrix-

<(Ex-)Goon!Tyranitar: "Why on earth would I beg some grass snake for anything? And who are you and the other dwee-">

-Noticing Nimbus-

<(Ex-)Goon!Tyranitar: "... I thought that you left months ago. What are you doing back here?">

<Nimbus: "Huh? But...">

<Dahak: "He's not who you think he is...">

Tracer(?): "... I am so lost..."

-With a devious smirk-

<Natrix: "Though if you did want to see some familiar faces, we've got one right he- OW!">

-Is scraped by Teala(?)-

<Teala(?): "Natrix. Pretend that you're the team leader for once.">

<Simo: "Natrix... Why did you do that?">

<Natrix: "I am the team leader!">

-Looking at Nimbus-

<(Ex-)Goon!Scyther: "... The rest of your patrol buddies?">

-Desperately trying to change the subject-

<Nimbus: "Er... It's no one in particular...">

<(Ex-)Goon!Scyther: "Heh... Pick up a girlfriend? Cute Hydreigon or something?">

-Visibly startled-

<(Ex-)Goon!Tyranitar: "Alright, out of my way tubby. If you can't be bothered to introduce your new friends to us, we'll find out our-">

<(Ex-)Goon!Tyranitar: "YIPE!">

<Simo: "... Perhaps you should have let the others introduce themselves first...">

-And takes off, attempting to flee-

-And trips over the Marowak and Scyther-

Izzie: *flying around frantically, a glass of water on her head and juggling four eggs in her lower two wings* <This isn't what I had in mind when you said training!>

Janine: *riding on her Weezing, blasting Thunderbolts at the poor bat* This is good evasion training! If you can outspeed me with two wings, think of what you can do with four!

Izzie: <Well...I guess that makes sen-EEP!> *dodges a close blast of Thunderbolt and heads in another direction*

Near Vermillion City (mid-day)

Janine: Your next task is to escape from a horde of Hypno and Drowzee without flying or use Super Effective moves.

Izzie: <But that seems kind of dangerou->

Janine: Sink or swim! *throws a riceball at a Hypno and poofs away*

Hypno: *turns to Izzie with a leer*

Drowzee Mob: *likewise*

Izzie: <... ... ...eep.> *run/crawls for her life*

Hypno + Drowzee: *pursue*

Violet City (late afternoon)

Izzie: *covered in some bruises* @_@

Janine: Alright, now for the FINAL training exercise for today!

Izzie: <Argh! No more crazy training! I've had enough!> *flutters angrily, slapping a nearby person with her wings*

Falkner: Ow! Hey, be carful, you silly Crobat.

Izzie: *descends on him angrily* <   NOM!   >

Falkner: Ack! *is bitten, slightly poisoned, and has his mother insulted; flees*

Izzie: >:|

Janine: Wow...you passed the final test with flying colors! I think you've earned a nice big meal~

Izzie:

Janine: And while you're eating it, I can tell you about TOMORROW'S training regimen!

Izzie: <... ... ...eep. ._.>

Ichtacya is still half curled, drooling and falling asleep again when she is suddenly awakened by a realization.

Ichtacya: <...eeeeeep! Today is tomorrow!> — stands up, starts trotting around tongue out — <Yippie! [Sunny Day] test!>

Vaporeon: <Good morning!>

Ichtacya leaps up to Vaporeon and bumps onto her.

Ichtacya: <Moooooring! I'm not tired at all! I can go outside and try my moves!> — looks around — <Perhaps we can go to the beach or something? Or will you be busy?>

In his search for somemon else to interact with, Rayquaza glances skyward, trying to see if there's any bird Pokémon flying over the ocean for them to converse with. At that point, he truly didn't care if all he could find was a Wingull. He just needed somemon, ANYMON to talk too. Not that he didn't appreciate Stratus' company, though...

However, thanks to his keen vision, and the aforementioned factors mentioned in a prior post, the legendary was able to spot another Dragon Pokémon flying idly around a few kilometers away. Although he thought it was funny that this was the second such Dragon he had found in the past few days, Rayquaza wasn't one to complain about a bit of repetition.

Rayquaza: <There's a Salamence in the sky some distance that way...> Points a claw. <...Should we go and say hello?>

Stratus: Shrugs. <Why not?>

The two Dragons hover into the air, then fly off to meet the unknown Salamence, Rayquaza roaring a greeting to him in hopes of appearing friendly.

Vaporeon: <I would love to go to the beach with you!> -pants happily-

Evergrande

- Is still following Tagg, I guess -

Sootopolis

- Veronica is doing some shopping at the Pokemart -

Mossdeep

- Sierra is still with Vyvyan somewhere in Mossdeep, not sure exactly where at this point -

Wherever Pentigan is

Latias: (to her sister) <Do you get the feeling that someone, somewhere, was looking for us?>

Elsewhere in Sootopolis

- Looker is investigating, a random Magikarp having washed up on land catching his attention -

Looker: So, how have you ended up washed up here? Does strange weather conditions have anything to do with it?

Random Magikarp: <Shut up and put me back into the water...>

Skies of Hoenn

The Salamence is watching a pod of Wailmer and Wailord move to the cities to the west, wondering if it would be a good afternoon exercise to battle them, try to hunt and lift one. However he decides against it because it would not serve the plot he suddenly listens a strange roar coming from somewhere in the distance.

Foreign!Mence: <....RAWR????>

Salamence turns around and focuses his sight on the distance only to distinguish...

Foreign!Mence: <...W-w-w-w-wha????> — blinks — <This day will be awesome!>

For coming towards him there's the serpentine figure that absolutely rules the skies. No matter how awesomely proud and territorial a Salamence is, there will always be one creature owning the skies above them, flying graceful and spraying death to whatever else dares to claim the skies for itself.

Salamence can't help but growl a sound and respectful welcome and start circling around nervously.

Oh and there's also one of those derpy orange dragons accompanying, Salamence realizes.
