<Serperior: "Excuse me? Since when did I ask for unsolicited suggestions?! And you're interrupting a field report!">

<Salamence: "M-My apologies! B-But this really is ur-urgent!">

-Notices the sheer fear in the Salamence's eyes-

<Serperior: "What on earth is going on?">

<Salamence: "R-Reshiram has been spotted! Sh-She's aligned with the local defenders!">

<Eelektross: "WHAT?!">

<Blastoise: "Th-That's not possible!">

<Serperior: "... We can't win against that... Especially not out here...">

<Salamence: "G-General!">

<Serperior: "... Give the order to retreat to Azalea, call an emergency meeting as soon as everyone returns.">

<Magmortar: "We can't advance further, General. Our troops would be at the mercy of those defenders the moment they left cover in Azalea or Goldenrod.">

<Serperior: "So our choices are throwing troops at the defenders to force a stalemate or at least a Phyrric victory for the defenders in the settlements... That would in all likelihood implode without a continuous stream of supplies and troops from elsewhere. Surrendering here in Johto... Or retreating to Unova...">

-A pause-

<Serperior: "... What are our lords' orders regarding this campaign if it does not turn out well for us?">

-An uncomfortable silence passes over the group-

<Hydreigon: "I-I thought that it w-was your policy to disregard those orders, sir...">
