ITT: We are all Pokémon Trainers

-Outside, two random Nidoran try to push the door to the gym while other two scouts look around that no one is coming-

Scout #1 — <Human with kit! Assume Innocently Playful Stance #1!>

-The two Nidos by the door casually lean on the wall besides the door, scratch their ears, claw the wall, make "ni?" noises, leap around, roll on the ground and otherwise look cute, as a gentleman walks past the Gym taking his Camper boy back home from school-

-The Nidos leer away-

Spy Nidoran #1 — <Gone already?>

Spy Nidoran #2 (hops to the street to look) — <Gone, yes.>

Spy Nidoran #1 — <Help me here! Perhaps we can climb to push that musical button!>

-The two return to the task of trying to get past the door while a larger but still young Nidorina with two male followers approaches one of the scouts-

Nidorina — <So wait, he's in there?>

Scout — <Yes, but we can't get in. The door is too heavy and we can't reach the musical button the humans use to open it...>

-The Nidorina thinks for a moment, then addresses her cohorts-

Nidorina — <You two, go check the backyards and get me a human trenchcoat, on the double!> — the two Nidorino nod and go away; to the other scout — <You, get me more kits around here...>

Cinder: -Looks horrified.-

Lake: <Go on, you can do it. Besides, she probably won't send that Miltank out first.>

Cinder: <Oh. Yeah, you're probably right.>

-Cinder walks onto the field, taking a moment to set his back alight.-

Fine, let's do this.

"Whitney": All right, go Bibarel!

-Bibarel appears-

Cinder: <Aw, Bum.>

Sunny Day!

-Cinder roars loudly, the sunlight turning harsh.-

"Whitney": Bibarel, use Super Fang!

-Bibarel runs over to chomp on Cinder-

That'll be nasty if it connects.

Solar Beam, Quick!

-Due to the strong Sunlight, Cinder doesn't have to charge a Solar Beam, and is able to blast Bibarel with it before it can get in range for a Super Fang.-

-Bibarel loses half of its health-

"Whitney": Bibarel, use Rain Dance!

-Bibarel makes it rainy-

-Cinder does NOT look happy now that it's suddenly rainy.-

It's okay Cinder, we can finish this easily! Focus Blast!

-The Typhlosion charges a Sphere of Aura energy...-

Cinder: <Take this!>

-...Then hurls it at the Bibarel.-

Bibarel: -Sees the imminent Focus Blast- <Oh crap!>

-Bibarel gets knocked out-

"Whitney": -Growls while recalling Bibarel- Go Lickilicky!

-Lickilicky appears-

Use Rollout!

-Lickilicky rolls over to Cinder-

- Mira is sitting in a room by herself, meditating -

Mira: <...>

- Her thoughts begin drifting towards the time when she took the Light and Dark Stones away from Dragonspiral tower, proving her loyalty to Artemis -

Mira: (thinking) ... My brother tried to stop me, but I did not listen.

He told me I would be a disgrace to my family if I went through with it, but I did it anyways.

... I have changed a lot, have I not?

Still, I do not regret anything.

-Cinder is struck by the Rollout and flattened.-

Cinder: <Ouch!>

-The Typhlosion pulls himself back up.-

That's enough for now Cinder, come back. Go, Gregory!

-Cinder returns to my side of the field as I send out my Slowking.-

Gregory: -Looks around.- <Hmm. I suddenly have the strangest chase of Deja Vú.> -Notices Whitney.- <Oh, that's why. Hopefully this battle shall not be as troubling for us this time around.>

Alright Gregory, Psychic!

-Gregory concentrates hard, picking the rolling Lickilicky.-

Toss him (or her) aside!

-The Slowking does so, telekineticly hurling the Normal Type away.-

-Lickilicky loses 1/4 of her health-

"Whitney": Lickilicky, use Thunder!

-Lickilicky uses the rain to drop a lightning bolt on Gregory-

-In an alley near the Gym, the Nidorino from before stands while several small nidos leap on him, forming a pyramid... pole... thing. Then the Nidorinoa hands them a trenchcoat which the kits cleverly use to disguise themselves-

Nidorina — <Now go and find us something useful...>

Nidorino (barely able to walk) — <What do we do if... uf... someone speaks to us?>

-The Nidorina thinks for a while, then calls in for a scout who comes with a tape device-

Nidorina — <Here, have the kits use it...> — throws it to the kits on top — <It has some prerecorded human messages... if a human asks you something, you just play the tape and let the humans react to it.>

-The trenchcoat man "nods" then slowly goes walking away-

Nidoran Pile — <Wheeee~! We're flying! Veeeeeeryyy sloooooooowly!>

Nidorino Beneath the Pile — <...my back...>

-The trenchcoat man exits the alley and walks to the Gym Door-

-I wake, quickly check the current state of reality (Altair's still here, I'm at the Giant Chasm. Looks like none of the past bit of time has been a dream. Good.) and start packing up camp-

-The Slowking is struck by the Bolt of lightning, grimacing in obvious pain (The Shellder clamped to his adopting the same expression).-

Lake: <Ooh, that looked nasty.>

Cinder: <I hate it when your opponent trips you up with unexpected moves like that...>

Gregory: <Ooh...I can't say I was expecting that.>

Darn it. Okay, Surf!

-The Slowking summons a large wave, jumps onto it, then rides the waters as it swamps Lickilicky.-

Lake: <Now that's more like it.>

Cinder: <Brr...So much water...>

-Lickilicky is brought down to half health-

Whitney: Lickilicky, use Thunder again!

-Lickilicky drops another lightning bolt on Gregory-

Wild Absol: <Excuse me, but you are not thinking of entering the Giant Chasm, are you?>

Protect!

-Greogry erects a Protect Shield, the Lightning Bolt glancing off harmlessly.-

Lake: <Is it true Thunder can sometimes break through Protect while it's raining? I've heard that can happen occasionally.>

Cinder: <I don't know. I've never seen anything like that happen before.>

Surf again!

-The Slowking conjures another wave, swamping Lickilicky with it again.-

Hey Penti where are you going?

-Looks at the Audino and Absol-

Yep. I am thinking of entering the chasm.

-Looks over at Daisy-

I'm still here Daisy.

Really, six did return? Interesting...

Anyway, if I'm right about this, the reason those who went in went missing is the same reason I'm heading in there.

The Audino: <No one knows what's actually in there... and most aren't brave enough to go in there to find out. Even the two rulers of Unova and their minions are afraid of that place.>
