Stormchaser, Vana's Room

Vana stares at them for a few seconds, as though considering the pros and cons of going to a location like the carnival. Of course, many members of the J-Team need some time off, and she's no exception. In fact she might need some fun more than anyone else. But a carnival is a dangerous place, so many people, and so many of them potentially with a templar hiding behind them. She or one of the others could get killed, or captured. That's what one assumes she is thinking.

Eventually she speaks. "What's a carnival?"

Aurelia: Simple. A carnival is a place where there are lots of fun games to play and rides to go on, bright colors, even at night, and they are just so much fun!

Tina: There is also a hall of mirrors and a stage for magic shows, and lots of really yummy food! Right, Aurelia?

Aurelia: Uh huh!

Stormchaser, outside Vana's room

A pink Frillish floats down the corridor, looking intrigued.

Radium: <That sounds fun! What's going on here?>

Stormchaser, Vana's Room

Tina: Simple. Aurelia and I are trying to ask Vana out to the carnival.

Stormchaser, Vana's Room

"Oh, right. Fun. I'd actually been meaning to have some of that." Due to Vana's tone of voice, it's difficult to tell if she's being sarcastic or if she actually has the word "fun" on a bucket list somewhere. "Although I don't see the point of a magic show when I can literally see all of the memories a person has ever had by touching them."

She then turns and sees the Frillish. "Could one of you translate this thing for me? There's a small chance that it said something I want to hear."

Stormchaser

Radium looks awkwardly at everyone.

Radium: <Riiight. Sometimes I forget most people can't understand monese.>

Stormchaser, Vana's Room

Tina: Oh. I understand.

Aurelia: Hi, Radium! Haven't seen you since J-Con! How've you been?

Tina: You... met this Frillish?

Aurelia: Yeah. We met at last year's J-Con.

Tina: The J-Team has a convention?

Stormchaser, Vana's Room

Vana sighs. "Before you get into a long conversation on topics that I don't care about, are we going to this carnivore thing or not? And as a follow-up, is the Frillish or anyone else going to come, because I feel like safety in numbers is important in the event of templars."

Without bothering to close the door, she changes into some clothes that are better for the outdoors (still too big though) and grabs the bag with her pokéballs.

Stormchaser

Radium: <I've been pretty good. You know, I think Kal could use a bit of fun too, would you mind if they came to this carnival thing?>

Stormchaser, Vana's Room

Aurelia: Absolutely! The more, the merrier!

Tina: Yeah. They can come.

Aurelia: Let's all go to the carnival! It'll be fun!

Stormchaser, Vana's Room

Vana is actually beginning to get excited at the idea of going to the carnival, but she is determined that no-one knows that.

"Well, then, what are we waiting for?" she asks. "I assume you're talking about bringing another person - great work translating by the way - so how about we all meet at the entrance in like five minutes. And if you bump into any other schoolkids on the way there, invite them as well. Like I said, safety in numbers."

Radium: <Yay! I'll go get them!>

Stormchaser, Vana's Room

Aurelia: Meetcha at the entrance!

Tina: See ya, Vana! Radium!

-Aurelia and Tina leave Vana's room and head out to the entrance.-

Stormchaser, Front Door, Five Minutes Later

Vana waits at the entrance to the Stormchaser, waiting for the rest of the group that is going to the carnival.

"Ohhh yes," Lamb purred, ready to get to work with some guidance.

Contest Combat

Hearing Evelyn's command, Helmsman Dives once again to evade the attack, leaving Kamui to face the waning watery assault with nothing but her Drought behind her and a desperate Fire Spin, in place, to keep Simon from dunking, and from the redirected assault from soaking her fur.

It didn't pan out too hot.

There are sounds of a scuffle coming from Kal's room. A few minutes later Radium drags Kal into the entrance hall.

Radium: <Come on! We're going to have fun whether you like it or not!>

Kal: Help.

The Hitoki Household- Living Room

"Alright, then," said Catarina.

~Oh, you're looking to listen to The Wiggly Cacturne?~ said Emcee. ~Well, you need not fear! I can play the entire album for you! In fact, I was just playing it for them a few minutes ago!~

Laurie nodded through their tears. "E-Emcee... d-do you think you can play it...?"

~Will do!~ said Emcee.

And within seconds, the entire album began to play. Laurie and D'Autry proceeded to sit down on the bed and listen to the album.

ABOUT AN HOUR LATER...

The last few seconds of "Breathing" ended, and for a few seconds afterwards, Laurie proceeded to sit on the bed in silence- "Nappy King" was so boring for D'Autry it had caused him to fall asleep. Eventually, however, Laurie spoke.

"...Well," they said. "I can see why they liked it."

As Mitchell listens to the album with Laurie, his sorrow fades. He is soon quietly smiling, as the peppy songs lift his spirits.

Mitchell's Pokemon have different reactions to the album. Gav hops into Mitchell's lap and quietly listens, occasionally tapping his forepaws in time to the beat. Chris, meanwhile, tries to sing along with some of the songs.

When Emcee finishes playing the album, Mitchell is sitting on the floor, cross-legged, with Gav in his lap and Chris draped across his shoulders.

"So can I," Mitchell says, replying to Laurie's statement. "Maybe you could keep it with you, as a keepsake from them."

The Hitoki Household- Cole Hitoki's Household

Laurie glanced down at the album for a few moments, before nodding and putting it away.

"Yeah..." they said. "I... I should probably keep it. It'll keep their memory alive."

They looked up, wiping away their tears.

"...it's still going to be a bit hard to live without Cole, though," they said.

Outside of the Stormchaser

By this point, Oliver Rivers hadn't gotten any further in his quest to find out how to get to Ultra Space to talk to Uefo's caretakers. He hadn't run into anyone— in fact, he was cautiously avoiding doing so in fear of Templars, despite Mito and Teru reassuring him that everything would turn out fine. He'd pretty much stayed in Galar for the most part, and Uefo had asked him many different questions about humanity; in return he'd asked him multiple questions about UBese.

He couldn't understand him, though, mainly because most of Uefo's answers were in UBese.

So it stood to reason that, eventually, he'd find the Stormchaser.

The moment he did, he squeaked in fear as he glanced up at the giant ship. Mito and Teru were next to him, concerned.

"N-nope..." he muttered. "No way... no way... not going in there. N-not if there are templars."

<Aww, come on~!> said Mito. <Your friends could be in there~! They might be planning something fun~!>

<Yeah, what about Vana and Aurelia and those two crazy twins with that weird time explanation thingy I never got last time?> asked Teru.

<Vana? Aurelia? Twins?> asked Uefo. <W-who are these humans? A-and what in the world is that piece of machinery?>

<Some kind of airship, I'm betting,> said Mito.

Uefo proceeded to hold up his arm and wave it in the air frantically.

-Aurelia and Tina arrive at the meeting point.-

Aurelia: Alright, Vana-chan! We're here!

Tina: Wow, sis... You are just so excitable. How I missed it.

Aurelia: How can I not be excited? We're going to a carnival! We get to go on fun rides, eat carnival food, play the games, see a magic show...

OOH!

If there's a stage, maybe WE can put on our OWN magic show!

Tina: A glittering idea, sis! I'm glad you thought of it. Anyways, Vana... We're here, and it's apparent my sister can't wait to go to the carnival.

-Tina then whispers to Vana, "You'd think she snuck a drink of cola before we got here..."-

"I don't doubt that," Mitchell says. "I can only hope that, even though they're gone, Cole can somehow watch over you, and even root for you."

Stormchaser, Entrance

"Okay!" Vana says, with a peppiness that is uncharacteristic of her. She is actually excited for once, you see. "Now that everyone's ready, let's go to the carnivore!"

She pushes open the door of the Stormchaser and steps into the sunlight.

Stormchaser

Radium: <Don't you mean- wait, she doesn't talk monese. Kal, can you tell her it's carnival?>

Kal: No. Come on, let's go.

Kal reluctantly steps out.

Marian: WHAT A SHOW WE'RE GETTING FROM KENDALL AND EVELYN'S POKÉMON!

Evelyn: Now, Simon! Psyshock! Hatty, use Mystical Fire!

-Simon fires a blast of psychic energy at the Fire Spin Kamui used to protect herself from getting dunked on, while Hatty glows with a mystical scarlet aura and unleashes a blast of red, orange, blue and purple flames at Kamui.-

Galar, Motostoke, Macro Cosmos Office Building

-Do you know how they say "Another day, another dollar"? Well, Daisuke had been working for Macro Cosmos at an office building in Motostoke to support his family back in Ballonlea. Sometimes, he would play [Galaga] on his computer and hope that no one in the office would notice. However, recently, he has been working harder than even he would expect. He would even work a few hours of overtime, even if it would burn him out. Why? Ever since the J-Team left the Galar Region because of circumstances beyond his control, his concern for his daughter, Evelyn, had been at an all-time high. What's worse is that Evelyn hadn't called in the time between the J-Team's departure and now. This worry combined with his intensifies workload is stressing him out.-

Daisuke: -thinking to himself- Rrgh... Evelyn hasn't called in a long time. Is she okay? I hope Ian is living up to his promise to protect her... Should I call? If I call, I can take solace in knowing she's safe... but if I do, it will take precious time away from my busy work schedule. I've already lost some time in the times I played [Galaga], I can't risk losing any more time. But if I keep working as hard as I am, I won't be able to know how my precious daughter is, or if she's safe... TAIHENDA!!

-Daisuke, overwhelmed by stress and worry, lets out a scream of anguish and bangs his head against the desk, distressed and vulnerable.-

Beck and two of his human companions arrive. Both looked like purple-eyed schoolchildren. One was much older and dressed like a male college kid. The young enby behind him had tan skin and rusty red hair. Following them around was a flying vikavolt with a strange device strapped on them. Following them on the ground is a ratata with a similar device.

Vana would probably think the older kid is hauntingly familiar.

Beck should be familiar to the children, as he is a staff member in the Stormchaser. But he understand that he's seldom well known among the more recent occupants, so introduces himself.

Beck: Hey, kiddos. If y'all haven't heard of me. My name is Sterling Beckett and I'm the security liaison from PEFE. I got assigned to take care of your safety for your carnival trip. This strapping young fellow here is Stewart, and he's brought in by another one of our partner organisations, the Oasis.

Stewart: Howdy. Likewise, my sibling Rusty. Say hi.

Rusty: Hello.

Beck: Stewart here had experience dealing with those Templar creeps who keep bugging you kids. Gotta bring in the expert and all that. They're from the School, like you all are.
