Hoops* allows Evelyn to bring them into the tent, but rather than be greeted by the insides they emerge in a sunny meadow with flowers of all colours forming menageries of different hues. In front of the pair, a young child sleeps peacefully, with a small Kecleon held peacefully in their grasp. Voices on the wind, and man's and a woman's, can be heard from a distance, chatting and laughing happily.
Hoops*: Oh. Hear we are. She was gone the next day. It was the last day my childhood was happy. I didn't even realise this memory was preserved like this.
They try to reach forwards, but their hand passes through the child.
Hoops*: Of course. This memory isn't for me any more.
They sit backwards on the slope of the field, looking at the view before them.
Hoops*: I know what has to happen, Evs. But I'm scared that if I do then this memory, and all the others that make me who I am, won't hold me the same. I'm worried about who I'll be when I wake up.

As the afternoon continues, other trainers perform with their pokemon. Some are quite good, while others are a bit underwhelming. All get the same polite applause. Eventually, all the competitors are lined up while the MC stands in front of the judges' table.
MC: Well, the judges have deliberated, and made our decisions. We've had some great talent today, but we've decided that the two coordinators to go through to the final will be...
He gestures to someone out of sight, and a drum roll sound effect begins. It lasts just a bit too long, and finally stops when the MC shoots an annoyed look towards the drummer.

The guards paid Gale no mind as she marched in, the Pen smirking as it followed beside her, Avatar still decked out in a tuxedo, a false martini in its hand.
Well then, seems they aren't paid enough to give a shit about you, it said with a smirk.
Gale's journey into the back would lead to a room of sorts, more heavily guarded, and the Guards seemed to notice her... they did nothing, they just stood there staring at her... daring Gale to try and approach.
The Pen quirked a brow and then summoned what looked to be a taser of sorts, Wanna zap em? Cause if a room is that heavily guarded, it has to have good stuff inside.

Seeing Emer's eagerness, Alyesha smiled, putting a rather large portion onto her own dish before beginning to eat herself. Upon hearing the compliment, she shortly paused, giving a thumbs up while grinning towards her mountaineering companion.

(The Scrafty's eyes begin to droop as Geddy continues the song.)

(Eventually, the Scrafty falls asleep and collapses to the floor.)
Elton: <Alright! Great work, Geddy!>
(Geddy smiles, then nods, and then turns to Kim.)
Kim: "Good job, Geddy! Now... hit him with a Draining Kiss!"
(Geddy nods, and then walks up to the sleeping Scrafty and kisses him on the cheek. The Scrafty's body begins to glow pink, and some of his energy transfers over to Geddy, healing his HP.)
Marnie: "Bloody hell, he knows Fairy moves... Come on, Scrafty! Wake up!"
(But the Scrafty continues to sleep.)
Kim: "Alright! Now, use Aqua Jet!"
(Geddy nods, and cloaks himself in a blue jet of water. As he charges directly towards Marnie's Scrafty, he continues singing.)
Geddy: (singing) <Watch the sparrow falling
<Gives new meaning to it all
<If not today or yet tomorrow then some other day>
(The Scrafty is hit with a bit more damage, but remains sleeping.)

(As the "This world is spinning around me" part of the song plays on the radio once again, Marnie turns to face her Scrafty.)

(The Scrafty continues to sleep.)

(She promptly proceeds to take out a Chesto Berry.)
Kim: "Oh dear."
Geddy: <She's got a Chesto Berry!>
(She promptly feeds it to the Scrafty.)
(And all of a sudden the Scrafty's eyes snap back open, and he glares over at Geddy in anger, smirking and cackling all the while.)
Scrafty: (mockingly singing) <Pull me under, pull me under
<Pull me under, I'm not afraid
<All that I feel is honor and spite>
(And then, as he pulls back his fist again for another Thunder Punch:)
Scrafty: <ALL I CAN DO IS TO SET IT RIGHT-!>
(Kim's eyes widen.)
Kim: "He's going for it again! Geddy, dodge it!"
(Geddy nods, and this time manages to successfully dodge the attack. Marnie's Scrafty growls, and as the "dust fills my eyes" section of the song starts up, he pulls his fist back again.)
Scrafty: <Oh, I am not going to let you put me to sleep again!>
(And he promptly punches Geddy in the face with crackling electricity. Again.)
(Geddy is promptly thrown backwards and hits the wall, and a cloud of dust goes up.)
Kim: "GEDDY!"
Elton: <Well... 'e got in a few good 'its at least.>
Freddie: <G-GEDDY-!>
Jagger: (rolls his eyes and turns off the music) <Dang it! You had to ruin it just as it was getting good!>
(Marnie's Scrafty smirks.)

(Braker, Walter, and Cuddles all look on in concern as Geddy gets thrown backwards into the wall. Braker focuses his camera on Geddy.)
Braker: "Well... that was certainly intense."
Walter: <I didn't know Marnie's Scrafty had access to coverage moves. Regardless, Geddy is absolutely in a bad situation.>
Cuddles: <Ohhhh... please tell me he's okay...!>

(Kim nods nervously.)
Kim: "Yes... yes, of course."
(She continues changing into her uniform, but on the inside, her mind is frantic.)
Kim: (thinking to herself) If I end up fighting Rever... he's almost surely going to use 9-Volt, and I know for a fact that 9-Volt is going to recognize me... Or maybe not, but even so, he'll see Braker in the audience and put two and two together. I don't know if I'll be able to control myself in front of him... it would be my first time seeing him as a Pokemon, after all... and even then... he knows what happened the last time...
(By this point, Kim has finished changing. She looks down at her shoes for a few moments, as her look of concern continues to grow.)
Kim: (thinking to herself) I didn't mean to make him feel so self-concious... and I don't want to do it again, either, but at the same time...
(She pauses. Then shakes her head, before eventually turning to face Ian and Evelyn.)
Kim: "Alright. You two ready?"
